I have just bought a Saab 9-5 sedan Vector 2ltr Diesel. Love it! But I do not seem to have the day running light shown at :10secs - ?? It is not in options in menu setting for car either. Car built Nov 2010. Did they change spec after?
According to an analysis made some months ago, SAAB Automobile and its suppliers only made up for a mere 1% of the total Swedish GDP prior to the most recent crises.
So being Swedish, I have no doubts our economy will continue being characterized by tremendous strength and success (despite the huge sums we North European tax payers have to hand over to the lazy Greeks annually).
But if SAAB would be shut down it would make me feel very sad as a car enthusiast. Even though I drive a Volvo..
blody goverment that don't care a shit about SAAB and their 4000 employes! they now have to take small loans with bad provisions and fight with payments, to survive. Let antonov in! I don't see what we have to loose, other then a fantastic car and some exellent craftmanship. @AskFor Well i think you should look up facts a little better before you open your big mouth!... this isn't a question about more loans from the goverment or the EIB, they have got the same money as every other carmaker in europe that has problems like opel, land rover, jaguar, volkswagen, nissan..etc. this is a question whether our goverment would let Antonov pay (his!) billions to save the company or not, and i don't see what sweden has to loose on that!? thats just money strait to our pocket!

Having owned a few Saabs....I have to say its kind of like having a girlfriend...Your not sure at first because you see that hot BMW or that cute Audi.But then...you start to notice the details and you find yourself looking at your car more and more as you walk away from it. And then your in love. Its the best.But then things could go wrong like any relationship. With a Saab its either a nasty breakup or maybe if you took care of it and gave it time and love then you could sail into the sunset

shame that this v6 2.8 300hp comes only with automatic gearbox and does 0-100 only 6,9sec that car is too slow for me besides I need manual gearbox so I don't like that car because of that

Why did GM drop the ball on this cool convertible to begin with? So many questions about GM that we'll never get answers to...huh? Anyway, I'm glad it's in the capable hands of the Spykar guy. He seems extremely intelligent and talented with design.
I personally like this video, but I can't stop thinking that this isn't the right move for SAAB because this video isn't aggressive, nor progressive. I feel that this is a traditional SAAB ad. SAAB should be anything but traditional by going modern and luxurious. If I were to guess the price of this car it would be around 30k, not 50k. I've made my point
@theallnewvolvos60 You're mistaken. What you describe is exactly what GM tried to do with Saab, and is exactly what they shouldn't do. They were most successful when they were true to their heritage in the 1980s. They must return to that as fast as possible.

I can tell their ground and understanding when they made this music..That they are coming back, that saab is coming back like from the dead. Kinda sad music like oh please saab is not dead, we are back. Well saab should keep in mind that bmw,benz,volvo,infinit,lexus and audi offre a lot of good stuff in this segment. Building Saabs this way hasn't payed off the last 50 years and there's no reason it would now either. Keep on doing the wrong thing for 50 years doesn't make it right because you keep on doing it. A totally new approach is needed where as little of old SAAB as possible is kept. Just hope that Saab don't catch the retroway and build a retro 2-stroker...
Nice and subtle lyrics in the song... "leave the past behind" and "the time is ours let's make it right". Quite fitting since Saab has been on the brink of extinction the past 2 years.

Wasn't it a bit lame? Doesn't Saab have to distinguish themselves from other car brands now that there are numerous cars that have LED-lights both ends of the car? What is it that really differentiates Saab 9-5? That will make a Volvo-, BMW- och Audi-owner consider it? I'd hoped for more creative marketing that made you feel “Wow, I really like those guys at Saab!” The film is really nicely done by Edithouse, but the advertising agency lacks in their creative work.

9-1 or 9-2 Golfclass fun GT car (like Golf GTi, or Ford RS or MiniCooper). Possible in a 92. 94, 96 retro style (and start Rally again).
And release a fun Sonett 4 (or 9-4), lightweight sportscar (like Lotus), or Super-7 style open wheel.
and release a cool super unique functioning Aero-X, 9-X super sportscar!
That would be great.

Building Saabs this way hasn't payed off the last 50 years and there's no reason it would now either. Keep on doing the wrong thing for 50 years doesn't make it right because you keep on doing it. A totally new approach is needed where as little of old SAAB as possible is kept. Just hope that Saab don't catch the retroway and build a retro 2-stroker...

Nice and subtle lyrics in the song... "leave the past behind" and "the time is ours let's make it right". Quite fitting since Saab has been on the brink of extinction the past 2 years.
Nice car though, let's hope they get it right!

They should have Aero-planes and big A*S Explosions and have machineguns comming out from the headlights and missiles on the roof..and heavy metal music. Not harmonic music while driving around in a tunnel, showing how senseble and swedish it is...Becuse that´s just boring, no one wants to be a swed nor should anyone be.

Wasn't it a bit lame? Doesn't Saab have to distinguish themselves from other car brands now that there are numerous cars that have LED-lights both ends of the car? What is it that really differentiates Saab 9-5? That will make a Volvo-, BMW- och Audi-owner consider it? I'd hoped for more creative marketing that made you feel “Wow, I really like those guys at Saab!” The film is really nicely done by Edithouse, but the advertising agency lacks in their creative work.
