  • How do you know what DPI number to use?

  • @The1970sInfatuate i did several scan and with the Epson v700 the best DPI to scan is around 2400 and 3000 when you go over its not that good

  • @rephixphoto with this imacon it was scanned at is maxium dpi 3200 and its super sharp

  • Nice video! I hope you do more of those showing the detail etc

  • @agerpic sure i will i am preparing a photoshoot behind the scene with my rz67 will be posted when its online make sure you subscribe to you receive a notification when its done :)

  • @agerpic i posted another one on my channel

  • This is very cool and I LOVE the grain. So much character you cant get from digital. I just purchased a Mamiya RZ67 and I am trying to learn how to use it to shoot something like you did in this video. Can you please tell me what are you using as far as wireless trigger and how are you metering the shot? I would very much like to do some outdoor stuff like this and experiment with printing some HUGE images of my work to show off the detail. Can you offer any advice or point me in the direction?

  • @yeseverymomentcounts happy you liked the video i will definitively do a behind the scene of a photoshoot using my mamiya rz 67 soon with the begin of the process trought the photoshop editing to the final print.. i will do one maybe this weekend and post it when its done to help people who want to learn the process of shooting medium format film photography

How i shoot my photography is i first shoot digital and then i switch format so the setting match the one i ended up with my 5dmk2

  • @yeseverymomentcounts i fist start by under exposing the background for the look and mood i want and then i compensate the shadow of the subject with a flash and when the exposure is perfect on my 5dmk2 i then replicate the same setting on my mamiya rz67

be sure that the iso on your digital camera is the same as the flim speed you are using also with a mamiya rz67

  • @yeseverymomentcounts because of the below focus you need to be carefull with the distance scale on the side because of the distance of the below you need to compensate if you are too close of the subject. i will cover this on the behind the scene video i will do this week or the next one ...

  • @yeseverymomentcounts i also forgot to tell you i use some cheap radio trigger form ebay that i bought like 2 year ago i don't have pocket wizard but i recommend them because since this is film you don't want to have some missed triggering since you only have 10 frame :s

but i never had any missed triggering with the cheap trigger from china but i will buy pocket wizard soon

  • quick question about the dust... did you have to manually take that out?

  • @IndieFilmLab yes i did the cleaning manually but it dint took me too much time, i would say 5 to 10 minute i use i wacom intuos 4.

  • nice work, just got a mamiya 645 and can't wait to use it for some strobist stuff! What shutter speed did you use for the shot?

  • @vinnyirish The shutter speed was maybe 1/100 and the iso was 400 the aperture was 4.5 on a sekor lens so it was wide open from this lens

the shutter speed can be anything it depend on the ambiant light available on the scene

when u shoot something and scanned the negative, and post a video online let me know i want to see..

  • great

  • good job!!!!

  • @ttibo1978 thnk please share

  • Thanks for this vid

It was interesting seeing the process, I shoot a lot of film but have never really attempted then convert to the digital world....must try.

    I love Jose Gonzalez

  • Nice video! I love the shot; nice composition. And, of course, the superiority of film really comes through in this video. Thanks for sharing!!

  • @themacdaddytj thank when i started looking for video about film scan i end up watching ur video and that what push me to give it a try

  • @rephixphoto Wow! I'm glad I helped convert you to film lol. Most of my equipment is digital but most of my shooting is done on film, specifically because the detail and tonal range is just beautiful. And shooting with film puts you in touch with the art...makes it more physical...more real. I'm glad you have seen the light, too ;-)
