Had an 78' 316 with single headlights, it looked very distinguished in dark red and the dash was ahead of his time. But, to be honest, it was....rubbish.

If you are after a 70s rear-wheel-drive small saloon, go for an Opel Kadett C or an Ascona B, they were far more reliable and drove as well as the BMW.

I just picked up a gold 1979 320 with 110,000 miles. perfect condition. 4 speed and no pollution control, the way cars should be. i love it.

Fantastic! I privately imported a 323i to my home in the US. I suprised a lot of people in V8 iron who thought it was the NA market 4-cyl.

I miss that car, probably would still have it if someone hadn't hit me.

Dann die Musik ;) Was mir auch gefallen hat ist, in dem Moment wo der rote E21 bei voller Fahrt von vorne gefilmt , den kleinen lustigen Schlenker macht. Wo ich lachen musste ist bei dem Ausweichmanöver, dann in Zeitlupe. Einem Ottonormalverbraucher wäre die Karre bestimmt ausgebrochen, vonwegen "sicheres Fahren" Genial!!! ;)

320i classic ride! Just make sure you get one in good shape. The restoration process on those is a nightmare. My 320i had tree moss as stuffing in the seats! When I had the seats redone I couldn't believe it.

The 2 lights have 4 cylinder engines, the 4 have six cylinders

umm wrong. he listed the 316, 318, 320, and 320i, none of which have 6 cylinder engines. 316 is a 1.6, 318 is a 1.8, and 320/320i are 2.0. all 4 cylinder. the 316 and 318 have single head lights, and 320/320i have double.

Sorry but you are wrong. IN EUROPE ONLY, the 320 and 320i WERE 6 cyl engines after 1980. ALL european e21s follow the rule of 2 lights for 4 cyl and 4 lights for 6 cyl. The only exception is the USA 320i, which has 4 lights and a 4cyl engine.
