Yep! The reason why Kevin and Scott worked in Quick Stop amd RST when making the movie. Fluorescent lights were put all over the Quick Stop so everything would show up.
actually it was low budget, it was a group of kevins friends who helped him keep it around 50,000 bucks maybe less and black and white made the movie. oh and people do drift through life not really wishing or knowing how to strike it rich like like the goose there who is the over acheiver of the group.and if anyone has ever worked with the assholes of the world in this manner they understand this movie
I hate to be the one to break everybody's bubble, but Dante was 22 and Randle was 23 when the first Clerks came out and Clerks is brillant! Kevin Smith is a genius!
To Snabald-I understand that the whole point of Clerks II is that they are SUPPOSED to be in their 30s and pathetic but it is just a bit of a stretch to believe that 12 years later they're still doing this and haven't changed. Kevin Smith swore up and down years ago that he would never degrade himself by making a Clerks II movie. Well one turkey after another and you go back to what worked, look at Stallone with the Rocky VI flick (which was actually OK) and the new Rambo coming out.
you mean to tell me that you never saw a 30-something locked into the same job for 10+ years? There's more a few convenience stores in my small town and the same people who were there when I was in HS are still there, although in a different store location.
Yeah, I love this movie. I'm not a huge Kevin Smith fan but this one is classic. Made for $35,000 and made Kevin Smith a millionare and a Hollywood player. Clerks II is fair. Kind of forced though, and like one reviewer put it, twentysomething slackers is cool, thirtysomething slackers is pathetic.
The reason it is in black and white is because Kevin Smith could not afford a color camera. And people thought it was for artistic purposes.

Interesting. I thought it was impossible to be 30-something for more than 10 years... 0_o

It just sucks dick that it's in black and white.
They could've had the courtesy to make it colored, even
tho they might be either on a low budget or trying to capture
the surveillance camera look, or both.

it wasn't a low budget considering none of them were famous at the time
