I think scary movies will do better in February. Around Halloween is when most of the scary movies come out, so they have to split the audience looking for a good scare among them. On the other hand, February is when most people are thinking of lovey-dovey stuff thanks to Valentine's Day. This thins out the number of scary movies out. People who want to go see a scary movie will want to do so most of the year not just for Halloween.

The movie sucked. Did not follow the books at all. Even though it was suppose to be based on the first 3 books it ended like it was the end of the story.

I love the books!! The movie was ok, but they screwed so many things up! Darren has super spit, and can flit??? Nope, doesn't happen until you are a full vampire. John C Riley was great as
Mr. Crepsley though! And this movie was way better than Twilight. Cirque Du Freak Vamps rule!!!!!!!!!

these books are absolutely amaazzing!!! but..the movie...haven't seen it yet but i'm almost positive it's gonna suck..from what i've seen the characters aren't right at all and they changed alotta stuff and it's just gonna suck...i'm sooo dissapointed.. they really coulda made a great movie outta this :(

Sadly, the movie didn't. It was pretty good, but it sounded like something Disney made. I wish they had made it at least some what like the books. But, good enough. I just hope they improve for the other 3 movies, so us original fans of the books will get happier

I am a huge Darren Shan fan myself, i have read all of the cirque du freak series and all of the demonata series, i kinda liked the demonata series a little more, because of thr action and stuff. People, read the books, the books are way more epic than the movie, i was very dissapointed in the movie, if i could i would remake the movie mysef and make it true to all shan fans, hell the manga version of cirque du freak is way more epic than the movie, i only read japanese scans but judging by the way it is, the manga stayed true to the series and added things that werent added to the original books, that actually fit in the story.The movie made too many changes,the manga only minor changes

I absolutely loved this movie. I bet I would still love it regardless of whether I read the book or not. All the actors were good , the action sequences were fantastic, it added a new twist to the vampire myth, and it was just fantastically grotesque . Sorry about the long sentence and comment.

Anyway... hope this movie is at least a little bit funny. There have been soooooo many crappy vampire movies starting with 2000 up to know (Van' Helsing and Twilight were the WORST!). And don't get me wrong, Twilight is a mediocre book, you can't expect it to be a good movie, as for Van' Helsing, shit if I know what that is about, certainly not of any book i know of.

I think scary movies will do better in February. Around Halloween is when most of the scary movies come out, so they have to split the audience looking for a good scare among them. On the other hand, February is when most people are thinking of lovey-dovey stuff thanks to Valentine's Day. This thins out the number of scary movies out. People who want to go see a scary movie will want to do so most of the year not just for Halloween.

when you make a movie based on a book it should follow the book to some degree like harry potter although did sidetrack it still follewed the outline of the book. for this movie i cant say the same this movie did have the same caracters and setting but the story line did the book no justice and after reading all ten books of the series this angers me because now i feel like the author (Darren Shan) is a bit of a sell out. i am dissapointed!

Pfft i just got done reading the second book and im half way through the third. it was kind disappointing that they changed the movie so much compared to the books.....and i agree with the people below i think htey should have made it a bit darker and twisted. Darren in the movie seems like he likes being a vampire. but in the books he really doesnt....that bugged me a bit. other than that it was entertaining. xD

I just came from watching the movie, and I thought the it was fantastic, probably because I wasn't expecting it to follow the same story line as the books(since its an ADAPTION to the books, not movie replica, like someone else pointed out).
