Im very new to ableton, i have a bcr2000 tho, im wondering do you havea saved midi mapthat i could download, imthinking it would be much easier to learn fromscratch with my bcr pre mapped, rather then having to learn everythign and then have to assign it all and then re learning it all on the bcr hehehe,, would be greatly apreciated mate,, marshallgraham1@yahoo.com
I tried setting up a setting up a simple beat repeat by taking the "beat repeat" folder. However it messes up the tracks i'm using so how can I just set it up in order to just have repeat + grid to control to beat repeat 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and so on?

If I was Behringer, that would be taken as an insult... Have you done any more Behringer reviews since then?
why is every single gearwire reviews completely pointless? "oh here let me spend 10 minutes opening the box and reading the instruction manual to you." "let's neglect showing you any of this device's cool features and make obnoxious noises because i have no clue what i'm doing." etc. please just stop. i mean what was that sample? every copy of it in existence should be deleted. wtf man
this was very helpful. I use to automate lots in synth such as the lfo rate and amount...never thought to use this together with a beatrepeat. great tutorial.....want to get started as soon as i put this BCR behringer to work.....i expected it to assign automatically....obviously im doing something wrong.... I specified the behringer in control surfaces(reason) and it recognizes the behringer hardware so far(both reason and live)...so far not working.
Very good, finally a video that is very informative and how to use this great piece of valuable gear that does not cost you to refinance your home just to purchase it, unlike many other brands out there, hint', hint'..........why is music equipment so damn expensive??? Made out of solid Gold or something ???
This video was my first introduction with the BCR2000, I got it not too long ago but it has been a great companion for assigning values and FX during livesets...
Of course, like all FX, beatrepeat can be overused, Bill is just showing what u can do here, he's not making music like some negative comments suggest... The BCR2000 is an awesome tool in combination with Ableton and any other DAW or VST...
this may be very late in regards to this post, but i've found the ableton manual ok as a reference, but the real power is in you tube. some of the people on here are more useful than the manual could ever be.
It's really easy to do with Ableton. They have demos on their site for assigning midi controllers, and it pretty much follows the same principles. Fortunately, there are lots of tutorials on this out there.
@gearwire Great vid man! Can you use this device with the likes of Serato Scratch Live? Or if I recorded a mix and then edited in Ableton Live 8 could I use this device then?
Bill's obviously comfortable with the BCR2000. Too many knobs for me though. Pads are my thing.
I've bucked the trend and returned to tracking with "hardware" exclusively...QY100 sequencer, padKontrol and the old Tascam Portastudio 5.
I'm not that pressed about Sysex stuff these days. It's not that big a deal to reach over and adjust the QY100 in some spots the padKontrol can't ordinarily reach.
thanks. The song is actually a remix by Kanji Kinetic, who I had interview that last week so I figured I would throw one of his remixes in a video. Thanks for the comment!
you guys are fuckin' stupid, he's showing you exaclty how to use it with ableton to assign effects, duh, and why the fuck would he wanna hide the info box? does that bother u or something?

PERFECT!!!
It's small, it's powerful, it's cheap, it's on my way :)
I've got small mixer without any effect on it, so this device will help me to complete the analog section of my home studio

Thats was FAIL judgment to demonstrate a beat repeat with an already annoyingly repeating sample :)
