one of my favorite shows, reminds me of TGIF and popcorn. before global warming and terrorism....back when the world was simple and we got around on the school bus (tear)..
Man, what exactly happened to television theme songs? Is it because we just don't have the patience to sit through them? Early 90s TV still had some memorable themes, but now they're practically nonexistent. It's weird, because the songs used to be more memorable than the actual shows.
Because there are more commercials now, they cut theme songs so they can still make 22 minutes of actual program. Somebody figured out that spending a minute and a half listening to music made tons of people go get a snack - or turn the channel. It's a shame, because now if we get a theme at all it's a ten-second stinger. I much prefer this style.

Oh I get it now, I didn't realize when I was a kid watching this. Balki is a mental retard. Wow, that explains a lot.

Ah yes, the Dance of Joy. Good times. Back then you could make a goofy show like this, but nowadays it would be cancelled after 1 episode.

I can only think of a few post 80s sitcoms that have/had opening themes: Friends, Suddenly Susan, King of Queens

I think Seinfeld killed the opening theme movement.
