I've got a 540i but E39 model, wanting to put cat backs magnaflow, it's obviously a 4.4L V8 which is the exact same engine as urs, but will it sound the same? The answer remains a mystery!

@chevy2990 Yes it will in the same way that the E39 530i has an M54 engine which was moved to the 2004-2005 model E60 530i. It'll sound the same. :)

Find a good shop around you and have them install an exhaust, doesn't really matter what, no cats ect, so it is loud. Ask them to do an exhaust valve (custom stuff) and that way putting around it won't be very loud, but when you get on it, it will roar.

I have magnaflow exhust full system on my ford Mustang and it's great and also i tested the car on a dyno and it increased the car more tha 20 hp.... but i don't know about German cars.

but on American muscles oh yeah! beleive me ... it worths.
