  • SON-OF-GUN; JUST MADE IT!!! In 1955 "Ain't That A Shame" peaked at No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 13 weeks in the Hot Top 100...

Also in 1955 Pat Boone covered this record; and it reached No. 1. Mr. Boone at first wanted to change the title to "Isn't That A Shame" but decided against it..

Also covered by Cheap Trick {#35/1979} & Four Seasons {#22/1963}...

Fats, himself, performed this song in the 1956 movie "Shake, Rattle, & Roll'...

  • This is a beautiful master piece by Fats Domino ....he has a velvety soft but powerful voice. We are treated to a fabulous rich blend of music also. One of my favourite artists and one of my favourite tracks....Superb......I will say that this particular track is not the very very best version of his though.....Having said that it does not detract a single bit from the beauty that this artist has created here.

  • I have a VHS tape from the Eighties, has been in storage since then, On it is Fats Domino and Doug Kershaw doing Toot Toot with the video as shown on MTV during that period, It's a great video, I have no way to play it. Pay postage from Phoenix and it's yours providing you have a way to upload the video with the song. Postage would be less that $5 I would guess and could easily find out.

That's right, if anyone hates this song, thats a shame.

  • @32867lunch Lol. How could anyone not like this?

  • This is fantastic great song.

  • i only listen to fifties music and some Robert Johnson but other than country to me fifties is the greatest. I mean old country not new. I heard after Katrina there was a rumor saying fats died if you herd that or believed it hes still alive.

  • Great song

  • Something i learned watching the $25,000 pyramid on GSN is that Dick Clark's wife gave Fats Domino his name. He was a play on Chubby Checker (Chubby, Fat - Checkers, Dominoes). I Always thought that was funny. :)

  • @Tw1stedMoogle thumbs up, thats a great little tidbit

  • @Tw1stedMoogle I thought it was the other way around. I grew up listening to Fats back in the 1950's long before Chubby Checker came on the scene and Fats was always called Fats Domino.

  • great song

  • There once was a boy from England who heard this song, and wanted to learn to play it first.

That boy was 16 year old John Lennon.

Ain't That A Shame was the first song he ever learned to play.

  • Legend.

  • One of the best Steve. Debx

  • I listen to hardcore street punk but THIS is awesome haha

  • @yodathedeathshadow thats because its good music, and all of us here are glad you like it as much as we do... kudos to those with good tastes...

  • @yodathedeathshadow hell yeah dude, all punks should respect this shit. Frank Sinatra and the old blues shit too. cheers n beers.

  • @yodathedeathshadow We wouldn't have hardcore street punk if it weren't for this guy and a few other awesome dudes.

  • @ashleybaldwin1 I dont see the direct comparison but ok?

  • @yodathedeathshadow

I feel you, man. I play drums in a hardcore punk band and every time I'm driving back from a gig, I'm always busting out the oldies like this. I grew up on this music and I'll always love it.

  • i luv hearing this a sweet tune in the mornin. Thanks Orwashepushed, much appreciated.

  • thx
