記得在新兵訓練中心，每天晚上聽這條歌，好多人都偷偷的躲在被子­裡哭泣，我們十幾個人，結果只有兩個人和初戀情人結婚，大多女友­兵變 ，有的人還自殺。當初是為了反攻大陸 ，結果常常往返大陸 ，真的很諷刺。

1968年我在成功嶺渡過夏天。 Chiang Kai Shek was still alive and KMT kept on shouting "Recover the Mainland!" Before retiring at 9:30p.m., we had to sing military songs to bolster our spirits to prepare for the crusade. This kind of 'corrupting' songs would have never been allowed and could cause anyone into BIG troubles who would dare to do so.
