oblivion does not have the soul of morrowind, but it doesn't mean it isn't good, it extends the world of Tamriel with new storyline and books and content and bhal blah... ENOUGH OF THE FUCKING GRAY-TONED IMPERIAL BUILDINGS AND FUCKING SMALL VARIATY(not mass) OF LANDSCAPE! The mods of both games are great, but many of Oblivions mods depend on the graphics to make them good, Morrowind is great for mods, because its an island, a huge fucking SANDBOX, that you can EXPAND. Most of the visual flaws in this (Fog, low poly landscape, etc) have been fixed with a program called Morrowind Graphics Extender which visually puts it on par with Oblivion (sometimes, better looking).

Skill levels mean less.A mage can easily pick up a blade with no prior training and start hitting enemies.Similarly,a warrior can learn a few spells and start casting them with no prior training.This defeats the point of having major skills in the first place since it's so easy to use skills your character has no training in. In Morrowind,warriors did not suddenly learn spells and start casting them without a lot of training. Mages did not suddenly pick up swords and start dishing out damage.

FACT:There are less skills. I wouldn't mind so much if it was just a few skills but at least a third of the skills that were present in Morrowind are now missing in action with Oblivion. This restricts character development and generalizes everything.

Im still on the fence about this. ive been playing oblivion and morrowind since the day they came out. i love morrowinds detail and indepth story line And that it came with modding tools :)But oblivion i feel more of a conection cause of it graphics and being able to see all the lands from a high point. but i did pump morrowind full of retextures so they are about the same. And oblivion isnt perfect eather, it has some quest gliches and tones of phyisics gliches where as morrowind has easyr use

Morrowind's combat is fine, it just depends on what abilities you have. Which mean that if your agility is over 50 you will land a hit ever time. Mines at 66 right now and Im doin fine.
