  • With that being said, I must stress that I'm not bashing the SPR. They are an amazing organization, which constantly brings forth evidence of psychic phenomena and the like. Many members simply had a bias against Price towards the end of his life. Sadly, the SPR is not as public these days about their research findings, though they are an extremely credible organization.

  • Great video. You have to love Price and his work. He was a brilliant investigator, who might I add, was unjustly spoken badly of by the Society for Psychical Research due to their animosity towards him. This occurred after Price's death, when he had no way of defending himself or his investgations. It hurt his reputation, but later with a more balanced report (also done by the SPR), they acknowledged that Price, though he loved the spotlight, was very sincere and honest in his research.

  • Okay, at least he isn't hanymore nuts than Prince Harry...

  • Thanks for the info. He'll be doubly well-armed then to spot anyone trying to pull a fast one. He's definitely not the kind of "bumbling old fool in a cotton wool-clad life" that people like James Randi like to portray psychical researchers as being.

  • How can I get a copy of this?

  • HEYY!!!! my last name is Price..how wicked is that!

  • Skeptics always say that scientists who do psychical research are ignorant of basic fraudulent psychic techniques, which is why magicicans are more "streetwise" than academics. I never did quite buy that, and this film shows me it's definitely not true.

  • I'm thinking of Harry Enfield now. :-) brilliant stuff. I love the way he pronounces his "H's". The problem with this area is that you have loons both on the left and right (mirror image of each other). So you end up with hysteric delusion vs tiny minded arrogant bigotry. Imbalanced people like Acorah vs Randi & Dawkins etc. Intelligence, reason and true knowledge is the balance between the two, but unfortunately its inundated with immature egoists who talk utter bile while craving for attention

  • @earthacademy I know this is 2 yrs after you made this comment, but I wanted to applaud you. This is absolutely bang on the nail what muddies up the paranormal field and makes it so hard for people to find a reasonable balance as people tend to gravitate toward these celebrity ego's and not think for themselves. Well said!

  • What a great opportunity--I never dreamed I'd see the old fraudster move and speak!

  • I have been to Borley many many times over the past fourty years..I have seen and heard too many inexplicable things to have any doubt but that Boley is indeed haunted. One night in 1969 I had the most terrifying encounter of my life. So whatever HP did he was right Borley was and is haunted.

  • I'd love to go there...do you have to get permission to enter the area?

  • It's funny- I have read a lot about the paranormal, and Harry Price's Borley Rectory book too- and I just imagined him being totally different!

  • Do you think Derek Acorah's a physical medium? Or is he just mental?

    (sorry Derek, only a joke).

  • The Borley Rectory saga, with its bizarre confluence of fact and fiction, would make excellent copy for a movie in the 'Dark Nostalgia' vein.

I wonder if Harry Price ever met Aleister Crowley?

  • Years back I found a copy of The Most Haunted House In England and my sister and I read it to eachother outloud. This was because it was so creepy! I have lots of respect for Mr. Price and his work. This book sparked an interest in my life that is both entertaining and educational.

  • I've thumbed well & treasure my copies of The most haunted house in England & The end of Borley Rectory. A Unique man. The internet! What would Mary Lairre think?

  • the famous flying brick he said was flying on its own was in fact thrown by a workman doing repairs!!!!

  • Re:floating brick photo. Why wouldn't he (Price)and others involved, come to discredit this then, since his goal & purpose was for authenticity?

If played up as real but is a joke,a lot of respect would go and doubt would arise on his other ventures.

  • I think Mr Price cast doubt on the validity of his endeavours himself, when he involved himself in cases like Gef the talking mongoose.

  • A fascinating combination of fraud and sincerity. If only he were right about "orthodox science taking an interest!" RIP Harry.

  • Another fascinating video. That was a very cool table he had made.
