My friend who went to the concert with me picked up some chick there that just so happened to know the guy that threw the lighter. Any of you that are saying it was the end of the show are wrong, I was at the show and multiple others, the set doesn't end in the MIDDLE of "Hurt", he had a few more songs to go, he left because some kid about 7 rows in front of me threw a Zippo lighter at him. People were always fucking up "Hurt', it's fucking annoying. It's the only show I was at he ended early though and luckily the few songs left on the playlist I've heard live a few times already. Show opened with Mr. Self Destruct. :D

Was there in person; Trent was hit in the head with the lighter about 1/4 to 1/2 of the way through the song. He was nice enough to finish up playing the song, before he left. im from michigan and im not surprised by it. i woulda walked off the stage to and whoever said that guy who threw the lighter got the shit beat out of him, i just find that funny n justice well served. i like trent alot i can relate to him on a lot of lvls and im not just saying that, i mean that from the heart, im a filipino guy, asian, and the only one in my entire town of about 3k. plus im short too. so yea....i know wut it feels like to go through lots of rejection and loneliness..

Wow crazy there's a video of this, I was at that concert... luckily it was during the encore so it didn't ruin the show. My friend who went to the concert with me picked up some chick there that just so happened to know the guy that threw the lighter. That chick, my friend, and I met at a bar after the show, and she said that he got hospitalized because like 4 people beat the living piss out of him after he did it. fucking moron.

If this is really the show where this happened in grand rapids I just wanted to thank the gutless worthless piece of trash for ruining the show for everyone there. to describe how far into the set they were I had only drank 2 beers. I would say the show was reaching maybe its midpoint. WITH TEETH was my favorite NIN album, ill prally never get to hear some of those songs live ever again. i hope you get "HURT"

Any of you that are saying it was the end of the show are wrong, I was at the show and multiple others, the set doesn't end in the MIDDLE of "Hurt", he had a few more songs to go, he left because some kid about 7 rows in front of me threw a Zippo lighter at him. People were always fucking up "Hurt', it's fucking annoying. It's the only show I was at he ended early though and luckily the few songs left on the playlist I've heard live a few times already. Show opened with Mr. Self Destruct. :D

I've seen them about three times and why is it everyone seems to want to fuck up 'Hurt'? If I were Trent I'd just remove it from the set list instead of getting pissed over and over and storming off.

i dont see the problem, it wasn't as if he was coated in gasoline, unless he was wearing a wooly jumper. Plus he also now has an extra lighter for free. You should walk a mile in another mans shoes before criticising. That way hes too far away to hear and you have his shoes.

There are musicians/bands that will get the crowd to identify the person who did something wrong, and then that person will be evicted from the show. This, to me seems the best way to address the actions of one person. Otherwise, it's not fair and I don't like it when any musician/band stops the show.

Was there in person; Trent was hit in the head with the lighter about 1/4 to 1/2 of the way through the song. He was nice enough to finish up playing the song, before he left. Still, I wish the show hadn't ended so abruptly (and early). I wish I could have punched the guy who threw the lighter in the face.
