The Lord Jesus is our Saviour, the Saviour of our souls. There is no other Saviour. You only have this lifetime to make the decision. Please make it - turn to Him today, ask Him into your life to be your Saviour. Jesus died to give us eternal life - 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.' Romans 6:23
@adam1885282 Your comment reminded me of a story about an old Jew who was arguing with a Rabbi about the importance of Moses.
The Rabbi said that Moses and God were an unbeatable combination.
The old man says, "Ah! Moses is not so smart or God gave him wrong instructions."
"How can you say that?" asked the Rabbi.
"Easy," retorted the old man. "When moses brought the Israelites out of Egypt, if he'd turned right instead of left, we'd have had all the oil and the arabs the desert."
... unless you don't think he's real. Then he'll burn the sh!t out of you forever, over and over again, while others watch and laugh at your endless suffering.
come on people, if you cant spell, get spell check, it lets you seem smarter than you are and its totally free. A gift from computer programmers, because they love you and just want you to accept their gifts.
sorry, you are mistake. ;Christians certainly have a concept of what constitutes truth, morality & the social good-just as you. These beliefs are expressed in all manner of good actions including feeding the hungry, aiding the poor, caring for widows and orphans, missions, opposing evil wars, social oppressions, and building hospitals and schools among many other endeavors. There is real good & evil & maybe it's your conscience bothered by certain behaviors. God rules our eternal destinies
No its not! I don't believe that for a second buddy about AA as a whole.ive been to scores of meetings,,never seen them force religion on addicts,,,try again pal ...As for christian charity,,(((Katrina)))... it was christain charity there first..look it up!
Ya think Matt!! The 12 step program is based on God,,, Alcoholics Anonymous. Its a world wide tremendous program .How dare you insult it!!! Again with you no hope lies!!! How would you even know the personal life of an addict???You are down right pathetic and a selfish individual with no answer to life's problems period.May the Lord render you according to your works Matt...2 Timothy 4:14
@flatop59 My brother was in the 12 step program and he left because they were trying to force him to become a Christian. It's not about helping people, it's just about converting. They take advantage of addicts because they're vulnerable, it's really disgusting. A lot of charity organizations that help the poor do the same thing. "Pray to god or we don't give you food." It's coercive and culturally imperialistic.
@relmneiko what organization or health group says that? thats words out of your mouth not christians. the fact that you think christians are the main coss for attacking these kinds of people saying there vulnerable? give me a break. come up with a better excuse to hate christians. obviously if people have had near death experiences saying they have seen god and have went to heaven, certainly there is a god wiether you think theres a god or not. stop coming up with excuses.
@vader671 Near-death experiences have been scientifically explained by brain chemistry. Why do you think Hindus who have them, for example, see their gods and not Jesus?
@ytmndman Correct. NASA has documented 'near death' experiences hundreds of times. It is well documented and explained. Several of the subjects (NASA test pilots) experience these often when blacking out from excessive G forces. It essentially confuses the brain causing it to shut down and fire off random signals, which can manifest as life-like hallucinations and 'visions'. It is pretty much general knowledge (or so I thought) that this has been scientifically explained for some time now.
@vader671 Gee, if you didn't spell like a three year old child, you might be more convincing. Are you mentally handicapped---or is it just the Christianity?
@relmneiko agreed.. same with.. if you force the entire world to believe in the roman catholic church or be killed/exiled.. eventually everyones gonna believe..
@relmneiko As a recovering addict myself I had the same situation but i found the strength to quit was in me not in surrendering to some asshole who has to tear me down to make himself have purpose. 2nd rate conmen that run these programs would have you believe AA and NA are the only solutions but research has shown AA success rates are almost identical to those of someone with no recovery program.
@relmneiko Oh yeah. I know exactly what you mean. I once had to against my will go to an a.a. meeting (don't ask). All the steps are pretty much a pathway to god. Surrender your self to a higher power. It's bullshit. All the people who came up to talk, we all, I FOUND THE POWER THROUGH CHRIST! Each and every last one of then. Christians pounce when people are weak, no all christians but they're not altruists, they're opportunitists.
@Demogorgon47 There are christians who go to these meetings pretending to be alcoholics just to recruit people. The program works though, but yeah, if you have that going on, get the hell out of there and find a real AA group. The program saves families, and your higher power can simply be the universe as we know it, not a god that is made up from fairy tales. Keep looking. I know for a fact most are not like that.
@InteGrayting2 The irony right now is that im hungover whilst typing this. Lols fun night last night. But this whole A.A thing is messed up. People with alcohol addictions are open to this mental suggestion from christians cause their in a weak mental state. And as for christians pretending to be drunks just to get recruits, that's just sad and pathetic. Do they really think that's mature? That's as wrong as you can get. Not to mention arrogant and deceitful.
@Demogorgon47 I've confronted a few of them on this, and they see nothing wrong with it becuase god is good, and they are good, so anything that they do in the name of their god or religion is good. These are some seriously screwed up people. I can't stand them, and just recently my daughter was "recruited" by some old lady at the park when she walked up to the kids, and started talking to them about god. I though she was a grandma for one of the kids, but she was literally recruiting kids.
@InteGrayting2 See that's why I detest catholicism. Not all catholics just bigots and recruiters. They're oppurtunists waiting for the right time to strike, and they're so up themselves, far as their concerned what they're doing is truely noble when it's not. It's bigoted and arrogant and mormons knocking door to door is even worse. So what happened with your daughter? Is she converted?
@Demogorgon47 Nope. Their not getting their claws into my children. They have the same motto as McDonalds. If they get you by five, they have you for life. Lol
@Demogorgon47 Yes. Always be honest, but delicate. The first time a child realizes one day the ride is over, you have to gently explain the cycle of life. How the flower sprouts, grows, blooms, and dies. How everything is connected, but we being just simple humans don't understand everything yet, and that we do not know what happens after we pass on. Kids can handle it, and do not need to believe in heaven to avoid fears of death.
@InteGrayting2 Hey thanks a lot. I appreciate the advice. I don't know whether it's a bit hypocritical as an athiest to let them believe in Santa Claus or all that. What do you think? I mean I don't think it's hypocritical, cause kids being kids, believing in Saint Nick is kinda just part of the fun of growing up but at the same time it still falls into to the whole dewey eyed fantasy nonsense thing that most christians hold dear, you know what I mean?
@Demogorgon47 Lol! Naw, it's cool. Frankly I think it's a good thing for kids to believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, and Jesus and God, but at about the age of 9 they have their moral compass, and do not need them to think somebody is always watching them to make sure they are good. When Santa goes, so do the rest, and they are better off for it from what I've seen. My atheist son is far nicer than a lot of the kids who are christian at his school, and have been told so by the school.
@InteGrayting2 Yeah. But the problem with believing in Jesus and God is that many don't grow out of it. Lol. It's good that you're son's so nice. Many athiests are a lot nicer then christians. No hard to see why. I guess going around telling people their gonna burn in hell isn't a good icebreaker. Lols :)
@relmneiko I've seen that myself. Please tell your brother that there are all sorts of groups that do not do this. He landed smack dab in the middle of a christian addict group, not a group of addicts. Most, and I do mean most are not this way, and he may have to "shop around" a bit to find a group he can identify and be open with, but holy crap is it worth the effort. I have seen groups that mock those 12 step christians as saying they are 12 steps minus 10. Don't give up.
@relmneiko i have been to a 12 step program and they dont try to convert you. they talk about their "higher power" but thats it! i went there just for lol's so i would know.
@sniped101 and @relmneiko Pretty much all of those 12 step programs are independently owned an run by various christian groups. Each group will probably make an individual choice to "cure" or "convert.
@therealjammit heh, I would have never guessed it. That makes sense though because they are heavy with the "higher power" stuff in there but they do have some nice people though...
Now if only i could get in one of those sa meetings...
Change is the only constent we know! The kimd of person who turns to God in a bad situation also turn to a cult(not theres a difference) gangs, AA, etc. Just because it helped you has no relavence to its truth or power. That's weak minded shit, "It worked for me and i'm the best........so it's the only way!
What these guys say is true...I quit Heroin after an 8 year addiction. When my father found out he said "Great, our prayers have been answered!" I just thought "My dad has such little belief in me that he thinks his "god" got me off drugs. I felt like yelling at him: "It's nothing to do with god!..it was just me! I went through 2 weeks of horrible sickness getting that crap out of my body! NOT GOD!" Religious people get me so angry. They believe nonsense with NO PROOF!
@truesouljs I have also a friend that was a street living heroin addict. He decided to go to the church and was cleaned the same night he accepted the Lord as his savior. No sickness. Now he belongs to a music ministry and gives testimony of his ordeal.
@TehFoo1 If you have an argument to support atheism, why don't you present it? are you afraid? or maybe you aren't as smart as you want to appear. sabin97 is actually making smart questions that you might not have come up with in a thousand yrs.
@dejesusluisx your religion and others have put back science years, our brightest minds were burned and tortured to death because of your god, have you even read the bible? can you honestly say that the world would not be a better place without religion.
@TehFoo1 ""your religion and others have put back science years"" Some of the best scientists had also being religious. Mendel, the father of modern genetics was a monk. Now I'm not here to defend religion, since religion like any other human institution, is flawed, because humans are flawed. I'm here to defend God's existence. Good or bad, whatever religion do doesn't disprove God's existence.
All humans who still fight to be right about what is really true are a joke! Just like these idiots on the show who mock other people's beliefs. Do everyone a favor and shut the hell up! All you do is hurt and hurt. Yea and the moron on the left just laughing with the moron on the right telling a story of a person that could have felt that way. Let everyone believe what they want because eventually no matter what we will only hurt ourselves with the fucked up things we do to everyone else! Jerks
@MrUdontknowme11 "Let everyone believe what they want because eventually no matter what we will only hurt ourselves with the fucked up things we do to everyone else! Jerks"
You're essentially stating that it doesn't matter what people believe. This is patently false. Christians, muslims etc are fucking up science education and murdering millions of people around the world by preventing sex education and condom distribution. *Those people are the jerks*
@MrUdontknowme11 Who the fuck cares if we hurt the feelings of the members of cults who have a direct causal relationship with people dying of AIDS anyway? Even if it's true that we'll hurt ourselves no matter what, we're clearly better off getting rid of unfounded superstitions that are known to do harm. Your kind of defeatist attitude insinuates that nothing is better or worse than anything else, and that's so patently false that you can't possibly believe it yourself.
@nebula25x ""the Bible describes a wrathful, vengeful, genocidal, sadistic and even jealous "God""" God as creating energy, has power beyond our comprehension. Ancients didn't understood God's real nature, so, in their ignorance, they attributed to God the same qualities and attributes they would have attributed to a king. You won't understand by studying from a far, you have to immerse yourself, pray, ask for enlightenment. The only way to understand God is by being in his same wavelength.
@nebula25x ""and then dam them for not believing."" God doesn't damn us, either we go to God freely by being in His same wavelength or not. The problem is when we don't, we are still as conscious as we are today, but in the eternal darkness, without any senses, total silence and darkness. You thoughts of all your wrongdoing are played again and again, and that cause unbearable anxiety, that is what people refer as Hell, but is just the absence of God. continue...
@dejesusluisx "The problem is when we don't, we are still as conscious as we are today, but in the eternal darkness, without any senses, total silence and darkness. You thoughts of all your wrongdoing are played again and again, and that cause unbearable anxiety, that is what people refer as Hell, but is just the absence of God."
How do you know this? Have you been in hell or are you making shit up? Does it bother you that the bible describes hell as a lake of fire where people burn eternally?
@Gnomefro "How do you know this?" This was a revelation, I visited the place, the reference of fire comes from the anxiety, it feels like it burn you inside. Is a horrible sensation, because you don't have a body, and no movement, so there's nothing you can do about it, the feeling of impotence and regret is overwhelming. Due to translations and errors, the Bible can only give you a general inspiration about a subject, anyone can get lost in the details, don't read it literally.
@nebula25x ""God is in fact just a web of infinite connections of energy that can be shared via consciousness"" that is a close description, a modern analogy could be to view consciousness as a LAN, where our consciousness are individual computers, God is the server and the connection or cable is the Holy Spirit. ""I would however suggest using a different term than "god"" God was even wiser than that, God suggested not to give Him any name at all, because He knew the future implications.
@nebula25x ""The ideas in Quantum Physics should not be confused with an omnipotent being"" People use quantum physics to support the existence of God because the events described by quantum physics may have been deemed as "supernatural" 200 yrs ago. God is not quantum physics, and God's relation to quantum physics is the same as his relation will all the laws we have discovered that rule recreation.
@nebula25x ""basing ones life around worshiping some being"" God doesn't need worship, and all powerful being doesn't need that. We worship God because we are humbled by His magnificence. When you become one with God you thank Him everyday for the gift of grace, it's just comes out naturally. ""eternal damnation"" as I mentioned in another post, there's no hell the way most people described it, you damn yourself by rejecting God. continue...
@nebula25x ""In fact what you are describing is Quantum Physics and Universal Consciousness"" God is the universal consciousness that through the creation of universal laws provides the force and direction needed for creation and the state of order present in the universe. I guess we are in the same page. Do you have a problem in believing in this definition of God?
@nebula25x ""God' is in fact not a supernatural "Being"" First, you have to define supernatural. Any power, entity, or cause that initiated the BB is by definition supernatural, since neither nature nor natural laws existed then. Now when we state that God live inside each of us and we are part of nature, then God too is part of nature, therefore God is not supernatural. Supernatural is just a word, which might take any meaning and it doesn't describe an actual quality of God. continue...
you gotta wonder why everyone hates atheists so much when all these guys are doing is being smug, sarcastic and disrespectful to those less fortunate than themselves. Truly a mystery.
Personal accountability isn't contrary to religion and people understanding the contrary doesn't understand scripture. As a matter of fact, personal accountability is a necessary consequence of the doctrine of free will. No one religion has the absolute truth as neither have you. If we leave our bias aside and work together to understand each other I'm sure many more people can be enlightened and live fulfilled life the way God wanted it to be, by loving each other, which is the negation of ego.
@dejesusluisx Well, first of all we should be sure that there is a god. Second of all we should be sure what his properties and plans are. We have none of it, so we can disregard god until we find evidence that he is real. And by the way: Fullfilled life? How do you think homosexuals could possibly live a fullfilled life if god wants us to kill them, saying that their an abomination? Forget god, no one needs that. Humanity should be over that nonsense by now :/
@hanspeterpitsch ""we should be sure"" if you decide to give it a chance, I'm sure you'll get to that conclusion. ""his properties and plans"" His properties are energy and consciousness, and His plan is for mankind to form one body as he has formed one body with the universe. He wants mankind to be like Him to be with Him. God doesn't reject the sinner, rejects the sin but if you don't reject the sin you would just destroy yourself. Everyone needs God to have peace, truly love and be 100% human
@dejesusluisx Ahhh, I call bullshit, dude. Some of the most peaceful and loving people I've ever met have been Buddhists, who (as you're probably aware) do not believe in a god, and certainly not the Christian one.
@Buddhabright "Buddhists" they might not believe in God dogmatically but for all practical purposes are in communion with Him if they follow their spirituality to enlightenment. As expected, they need to follow a very critical and rigorous path to enlightenment, where as Christians have a straightforward path through Christ. They can be saved, but is more difficult. Having said that, is also fair to state that most Christians don't have a real understanding of the message embedded either.
@Buddhabright ""Hell/salvation's"" If you think is an obscene concept is just because you don't understand them. Hell doesn't exists the way is portrayed. Hell is the absence of God and there is no judgment. God doesn't send anyone to Hell, people send themselves. Hell is the eternal darkness. There is nothing obscene in fulfilling you wish of not wanting to be with God. But, be careful what you wish for...
@dejesusluisx Cool story bro. Bible says otherwise. Matthew 5:22 - "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
@Buddhabright Anyone that reads the Bible with the eyes of a fundamentalists is a potential atheist, because the Bible can't be interpreted literally. Jesus wanted to emphasize the point that we have to be one body by loving each other. Read John 3:18-21. The reference to hell fire is the constant state of anxiety you consciousness will have when you realize you're no longer in this dimension, no body, no senses, or time perception. You'll think of every offense and sin, that feels like fire.
@dejesusluisx But...that's...stupid. Seriously, that's a really retarded passage. It's just a repetition of the 'believe or be condemned' scare tactics.
Let's Occam's Razor this shit, right here and now. Show an empirically provable way for only believers in *your god* "to have peace, truly love and be 100% human". Otherwise, I'm gonna have to stand by my call of bullshit.
@Buddhabright "retarded passage" clearly you didn't understand it, the passage is a revolutionary vision that even today isn't understood clearly. ""only believers in *your god* "" there's only one God, one divine consciousness and living the kingdom of God is being in God's wavelength. Buddhists call it Nirvana or Enlightenment, Hindus call that Moksha, Islam calls it Taubah and we call it living in Grace. There's only one divine consciousness with many names and dogmas, but just one reality.
@dejesusluisx You're halfway making it to the point where you actually sound reasonable. What is missing now is:
"...There's only one reality, the fact that all the god ideas are worthless and that humanity simply doesn't know if there is ANY kind of god. While it may be possible, since heck, nothing is 100% impossible, it sure is not probable in any way.
Don't you realize that your religion is as ridiculous as any religion that existed before..? Not to offend you, but please wake up!
@hanspeterpitsch ""religion is as ridiculous as any religion"" beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, what you call ridiculous, we call sublime. Why you let your bias take the best out of you? Why let stubbornness, materialism, ego, sex, greed, manipulation, be anyone's north? Don't you think mankind deserve better than to be just animals that can think and build rockets? That is a deadly combination and what God tries to avoid, our self annihilation.
@dejesusluisx I have, for many years, given it a chance. What you're basically saying is that if I "brainwash" myself long enough with the notion of god, that eventually I will believe. Sorry I'd like to have my mind free. How do you know his properties and plans? Wishful thinking.
Oh and that's nice, so gays should just hate themselves for their sexuality. What a fullfilling life that is, thank god *sarcasm*
Rejecting your own sexuality is what destroys you. And don't tell me it's a choice..
@hanspeterpitsch "How do you know his properties and plans? Wishful thinking" No, is called divine revelation, I was given a "papal seal", a proof to be understood by the right people that would convince everyone that the message is real. "should just hate themselves for their sexuality" abstinence is a negation of one's self, renounce of our selfish animal instincts, is like fasting, rejecting bribes, renouncing materialism; you haven't realized that sex for pleasure is primitive, a step back.
@dejesusluisx You're just waffling. Dodging the question I asked. I'm still waiting for you to provide any kind of empirical proof that your religion is the only way to "have peace, truly love and be 100% human". Any kind of evidence that that's not preachy bullshit.
@Buddhabright I give up on this guy.. I mean, look at his responses to my points, and yours of course. It's mind boggling, but we're sadly getting nowhere...
@hanspeterpitsch Yeah, I guess. He's kinda going about it wrong anyway if he's trying to argue his religion makes people good - especially when he claims it's the only way to be so. Hell, I wouldn't admit to being given a papal *anything*. Who wants to tell people the ancient, corrupt, lying shithead in charge of the world's single richest and most harmful church approves of their attitude?
@Buddhabright ""I wouldn't admit to being given a papal *anything*."" A papal seal is the same as a royal seal, this was a wax button stamped with a seal closing the envelope, to assure the person to be given the message that it was authentic. In my case, the "papal seal" (or "royal seal" it really doesn't matter how you call it, but I was give that name) was another message which answers the most fundamental questions physicists have today. I'm afraid your bias don't let you see or understand.
@Buddhabright ""Still waiting on that proof, by the way"" I don't think we are communicating, you want proof for a claim I never made? Are you even reading my posts?
@dejesusluisx Bullshit. "Everyone needs God to have peace, truly love and be 100% human" - your words, copy-pasted from your comment. A claim YOU made. Waiting on proof of that. Have been for two days. If you had any, you'd have given it. Hans was right, you've got nothing and now you're trynig to pretend you never made the claim in the first place. Unless you provide that proof, that evidence that you're not just bullshitting? Nothing to say to you.
@dejesusluisx You are saying god is real. Also you say god is logical and can be understood through reason and logic. First one needs proof and second one is false, or can you prove it? Come on, there's no reason to believe that there is a god, other than the good feeling you supposedly get from it. Or are you saying I'm not intelligent enough to realize that he's real?
@hanspeterpitsch The proof is either personal or comes in the form of logical arguments, so you have to be willing to accept those as "proof" first, if not, is a waste of time. That's so because God can't be perceived through empirical evidence or faith would be gone. Free will is one of God's most cherish gifts to mankind and He won't do anything to jeopardize that freedom. "are you saying I'm not intelligent enough" isn't a matter of intelligence is a matter of willingness. U see what u want.
@Buddhabright "Still waiting on that proof, by the way" All atheists are atheist for two reasons: 1. They reject the flawed dogmas created by man and assume if the dogmas are flawed, then God must not exist. 2. They want to have evidence before believing but are not willing to look for it. What if I told you, we put convincing evidence of God existence behind a closet door inside your house, wouldn't you be willing to open that door and look for it? The door is in your mind, open it you'll see
@dejesusluisx Oh, good idea - try to tell a guy what he believes, and why. Make a great big straw man of him so you can knock it down and call it a victory.
Don't go trying to tell me what I think. It's feeble Fisher-Price psychology and it just confirms you've got nothing you can use except making shit up about people. I'm just gonna take this as confirmation that you've got no proof that your religion is the only way to "have peace, truly love and be 100% human". Bullshit, like I said.
@Buddhabright ""take this as confirmation that you've got no proof"" As I said, the proof is personal, I have mine and you have to look for yours, you just don't want to open the door. I was a non-believer and I was a good person, and I thought I was happy and loving, but I wasn't. I now have a point of reference, if you lack a point of reference you can't affirm any kind of reality. Open your eyes.
@dejesusluisx There you go again. Shit, you're that desperate for a straw to grasp? Screw it, I'm ending this here. I enjoy a reasoned debate as much as anyone, but this is beneath me.
@hanspeterpitsch The fact that you don't understand that answers doesn't diminish the merits of the message. God is 100% logical and He can be understood through reason and logic. Read the answers again and I'll be more that willing to help you understand.
@Buddhabright ""your religion is the only way to "have peace, truly love and be 100% human"" when did I said that my religion was the only way? I said living in grace, being in God's wavelength is the only way, the religions don't matter what matter is your relationship with God. Sure some dogmas would bring you closer to the concept of God than others, but the way to God is living His message and His message was incarnated in Christ. There is just one God, dogmas come and go but God is eternal
yes having faith in ones self comes first, but then you will need to apply it to your life without fear or bondage to another, and to be able to use your inner personal intestinal fortitude, will to do so,and gained knowledge you will indubitably become stronger, smarter, faster, and ultimately more divine if one so wishes on their path to death in understand their own personal experience in life within the reality in witch they have been subject to exist in of either there own will or an others
this is exactly right, I have died 3 times in my life and had a very unique experience, witch was a major reason for 360 degree change in my personality, my thoughts & understanding to life and existence, because of this direct physical experience I have a higher IQ, and the ability to better teach my self and learn any thing I have under taken in the past 7 years it has been astonishing to me and my family I am the one in my family to finish collage with 3 degrees 4 certifications and more
Exactly. I was head of music at a large charismatic church. I was gay. I prayed. I still was gay. "Oh - that's because in your heart you still wanted to be gay". It's a scam folks. A mental virus created to make us all co-dependent and simple minded addicts. Challenge a christian today. You may just save them from insanity.
If Pascal's Wager really is the expectation that god has, then it is not worth anyone's praise. It gives choices just to watch people fail. What a sadistic, malicious being!
@7strawman7 Seems to me that it's you how ignores the scipture.... "Judges 11:30-40 Jephthah killed his young daughter (his only child) by burning her alive as a burnt sacrifice to the lord for he commanded it."
Psalms 137:8-9 Prayer/song of vengeance “0 daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.”
@7strawman7 Sorry, I didn't understand anything in your last post. Can you clarify what it is you are suggesting and provide evidence for it. Because it sounds like you've been living in an alternate universe where giant invisible fairy story characters are real, and history is completely different. Last time I looked the Federal reserve bank is owned by private banks, the controlling shareholders being the Jewish Rockefeller and Rothschild families.
@7strawman7 "the entire planet under one totalitarian rule & manifest Lucifer(the light-giver) as god with nothing to thwart them? yea, glad thats not happening anymore."
Me neither, but it took secular governments to do it by booting the church out of politics. And even today Christianity is constantly trying to get its death grip back. In some USA states you can't run for office unless you are a Christian. Talk about a fast tract for a return to the dark ages. Barking mad.
@7strawman7 There is no such things as an all-knowing entity. If there was, no freewill could exist. Omniscience + freewill = Oxymoron.
If something knows our future for a fact, it has seen/experienced it. From our perspective our lives would be like watching a movie for the first time, there, but powerless to change the story. We'd be left with predestination.
The upshot being an eternal torture for being unable to change a predetermined existence. We have freewill not predetermination.
@Valthepixie There is no such thing as an omnipotent being. It amounts to a claim there is a giant invisible fairy story character. No evidence.
There is no such thing as infinity. Again no evidence. It is a pathetic word that labels our lack of knowledge of the bigger picture. Once upon a time it meant off the edge of a flat planet, just over the horizon. The current known size of the Universe is 78 BILLION light years across.
@7strawman7 Don't need to go outside of reality to disprove anything. Define infinity, define your deity. You cant do either so you have no argument at all. The blind watchmaker argument, you are arguing against yourself. A creator, would need a creator that needs a creator and so on.
You have one thing right, the self confession of "Its all random bc MY limited perspective". Go read a science book instead of dark ages codswallop. ;)
@7strawman7 The truth is you can't even quantify what you believe. There is'nt even a consensus amongst believers of the same religion. So you don't have an argument in the first place. Your belief in it, no matter how sincere, is not equal to the scientific facts that prove otherwise. ie evolution and chaos. Life has been proven to evolve, it has been proven to spontaneously arise from basic chemicals. Life does not need a creator and neither does energy and matter.
@7strawman7 Sorry but you are challenging scientific fact with an unsubstantiated hypothesis of there being a giant invisible fairy story character. To be able to challenge scientific fact you have to prove it without any doubt. Your belief in it, no matter how sincere, does not equate with proven facts.
You are are also assuming the thoughts of "spitiual man", agree with your unsubstantiated hypothesis. Belief in the Sun as deity is fact based, everything in the universe is made of star dust..
@7strawman7 We are completely at the mercy of the sun, in no way have we conquered it. If it spits at us and wipes our electricity out, we'll be back to the 1700's in the blink of an eye.
The biblical God on the other hand has less than zero substantiation. It can be traced back to ancient Sumeria as El of the Elohim. The sun - El , dusk and dawn - Elohim.
Order has been proven without doubt to come out of chaos. You are arguing from a point of total ignorance on the subject.
@7strawman7 Excuse me, I didn't claim that atheists have no power above them or there is nothing we can't conqeur. For example, with our current technology we can't conqeur the sun, we are subject to it. That doesn't mean the sun is an inteligent being I have to worship.
But you are right by saying everything is random. Order comes out of chaos. I highly recommend the bbc science documentary ' the secret life of chaos ', its on youtube. Come back when you know what you are talking about.
@7strawman7 "a helicopter offers you a rope & says "take off the blindfold so u can see wth ur doin!" what do you do? wise man says: fuck this, Im outta here" atheist says: "how dare u say this rope is the only way out?""
Atheists don't have a blindfold on in the first place, so would grasp the rope much sooner. With no brainwashing to fight against, objectivity through critical thinking comes naturally.
@mastermind1000 There aren't just 2 options: Christianity and atheism, there are billions upon billions of possibilities. You also have to believe in Islam, Hinduism, Mithra, Scientology, and the religion which worships clay pots in order to be 100% sure you will go to heaven. What makes Christianity (or even just your sect) more "likely" to be true than those others? There is the same amount of evidence for all of them: zero. Your rationalization is flawed and wrong.
@scjoiner It is true that certain religions, lacking a connection with the principles of revelation, have been influenced in their appearance and growth by the social environment and similar factors. However, it is illogical to ascribe the foundation of all faiths and religious tendencies to material or economic circumstances and demands, to fear of the terrifying forces of nature, to ignorance or to considerations rejected by science.
@scjoiner God is energy and to be in tune with energy, you need to be in the same wavelength. The same with God; you need to be in His wavelength to be saved. Buddhists call it Nirvana or Enlightenment, Hindus call that moksha, Islam calls it Taubah and we call it living in Grace. There's only one divine consciousness with many names and dogmas, but just one reality we call God. Most people can't grasp this concept and the fact Jesus commanded all of us to be one with the father and each other.
@mastermind1000 Yeah, even Christians reject Pascals Wager as it means that you are only believing in God because it might be right not because you believe it is right. But as others have said, Pascals Wager only makes sense if their is only a choice between Christianity and Secularism. There is not. Literally millions of Gods have existed in hundreds of different faiths and cultures. Take your pick of any of them. But you still might be wrong.
@LondonIrishRover Without doubt, one of the factors in the emergence of anti-religious ideas and a phalanx of deniers of God, has been the false teachings, the inadequacies and the intellectual perversions of the followers of some religions. The peculiarities and separate characteristics of each religion must, therefore, be individually examined when studying the reasons that have led men to adhere to that religion.
@LondonIrishRover Pascal's Wager also fails because they're assuming that god is stupid enough to be fooled by your choice of "belief". Like, hey I choose to be a christian and god isn't smart enough to realize that I'm just hedging my bets because I want to go to heaven.
@LondonIrishRover ""Literally millions of Gods have existed in hundreds of different faiths and cultures"" Not millions, but thousands indeed; but not thousands of God's, thousands of dogmas. There's only one God, which didn't wanted to be named to avoid these misunderstandings. Dogmas are man made and they can be wrong, but God is real. You can know this fact too if you decide to believe. If I tell you that the evidence is behind a closed door, wouldn't you open it to see? Open your eyes.
@dejesusluisx Was that your attempt at an argument? God is real and the only way to see the evidence is to believe that he is real, even though any rational person would need evidence before they believe he is real. That doesnt make sense, does it? Open your mind.
@LondonIrishRover ""any rational person would need evidence before they believe he is real"" any rational person that is looking for something would look to find it, unless you admit that you don't care about God existence at all; and if that's the case, I don't see any reason for you to post in atheists blogs or to think about the subject at all, much less to justify and defend your position of lack of faith. If you don't care, no matter what evidence I present, you won't accept it.
@dejesusluisx You haven't presented any evidence for your God though. All you have said is that 'I can know this is a fact if I decide to believe.' That is not evidence. If you have evidence then by all means share it with me.
@LondonIrishRover "If you have evidence then by all means share it with me" You can logically infer the existence of God but no one can demonstrate His existence with empirical evidence because if God would be obvious, free will would be gone. If you build a perfect tool for cutting, it is illogical to use it as a hammer. Our existence is based solely in our consciousness and free will, if we don't have that freedom, there is no reason for us to exist. continue....
@LondonIrishRover ...continue.. Therefore the evidence would be either personal or questionable. I'll tell you something I haven't shared before. I received a message that proves God exists, the message summarize all the secrets of the universe, how everything came to be, but, the explanation solves the problem of creation without God. So, I have a dilemma, If I publish the message, God will be completely explained away from the universe. The problem is it came from God, and I'm the only witness
@dejesusluisx You see, I recieved a message too, but mine was from the all powerful creator Brama, who told me every secret of creation. The guy down the street recieved an almost Identical message from Thor, and his brother recieved one from Mithras. Looks like your God has some competition. I mean no disrespect, but the saddest thing here is that you think your personal experience is enough 'evidence' to convince people of a belief in your God. I know you mean well, but it isn't. Sorry.
@LondonIrishRover ""Looks like your God has some competition"" He doesn't because there is only one God, one divine consciousness we give many names. ""you think your personal experience is enough 'evidence' to convince people of a belief in your God"" my intention is not to convince anyone, is for people to be open minded, to keep looking. Atheists have closed their minds and thrown away the keys, I just want them to try to open it again.
@dejesusluisx I do find it funny when the religious accuse atheists of being close minded even though they have just latched onto the first religious belief that was told to them as a child, have nothing to support it, yet tell everyone else it is a fact. You are not open minded, dude. If you were, you would consider every other religion, which you have shown you do not. You would consider the explainations of science, which I'm assuming you do not. I'm the open minded one here, not you.
@LondonIrishRover "which I'm assuming you do not" you assume too much. Never assume because when you ass / u / me you make an ass of u and me. Is very sad that you have already made your mind about your salvation without not knowing God at all. I have considered every religion, and all scientific arguments. If you want to learn, ask the questions, but don't ass/u/me you know God because people without any knowledge of God (like the narrow minded atheists in this video) told you who He is.
@dejesusluisx You recieved a message that proves God exists and summarizes all the secrets of the universe? LOL l feel sorry for your deluded ignorance! The burden of proof is on you and you can not prove that God exists! You rely on Faith and Faith is a substance that YOU hope for! Teach ideas that are supported by Evidence :)

"When moses brought the Israelites out of Egypt, if he'd turned right instead of left, we'd have had all the oil and the arabs the desert."

sorry, you are mistake. ;Christians certainly have a concept of what constitutes truth, morality & the social good-just as you. These beliefs are expressed in all manner of good actions including feeding the hungry, aiding the poor, caring for widows and orphans, missions, opposing evil wars, social oppressions, and building hospitals and schools among many other endeavors. flatop59 5 months ago
@flatop59 My brother was in the 12 step program and he left because they were trying to force him to become a Christian. It's not about helping people, it's just about converting. They take advantage of addicts because they're vulnerable, it's really disgusting. A lot of charity organizations that help the poor do the same thing. "Pray to god or we don't give you food." It's coercive and culturally imperialistic.
relmneiko 5 months ago 64
@relmneiko what organization or health group says that? thats words out of your mouth not christians. the fact that you think christians are the main coss for attacking these kinds of people saying there vulnerable? give me a break. come up with a better excuse to hate christians. obviously if people have had near death experiences saying they have seen god and have went to heaven, certainly there is a god wiether you think theres a god or not. stop coming up with excuses.
vader671 5 months ago
@vader671 Near-death experiences have been scientifically explained by brain chemistry. Why do you think Hindus who have them, for example, see their gods and not Jesus?
ytmndman 5 months ago 45
@ytmndman Correct. NASA has documented 'near death' experiences hundreds of times. It is well documented and explained. Several of the subjects (NASA test pilots) experience these often when blacking out from excessive G forces. It essentially confuses the brain causing it to shut down and fire off random signals, which can manifest as life-like hallucinations and 'visions'. It is pretty much general knowledge (or so I thought) that this has been scientifically explained for some time now.

Demogorgon47 1 month ago
@Demogorgon47 There are christians who go to these meetings pretending to be alcoholics just to recruit people. The program works though, but yeah, if you have that going on, get the hell out of there and find a real AA group. The program saves families, and your higher power can simply be the universe as we know it, not a god that is made up from fairy tales. Keep looking. I know for a fact most are not like that.
InteGrayting2 4 weeks ago
@InteGrayting2 The irony right now is that im hungover whilst typing this. Lols fun night last night. But this whole A.A thing is messed up. People with alcohol addictions are open to this mental suggestion from christians cause their in a weak mental state. And as for christians pretending to be drunks just to get recruits, that's just sad and pathetic. Do they really think that's mature? That's as wrong as you can get. Not to mention arrogant and deceitful.
Demogorgon47 4 weeks ago
@Demogorgon47 I've confronted a few of them on this, and they see nothing wrong with it becuase god is good, and they are good, so anything that they do in the name of their god or religion is good. These are some seriously screwed up people. I can't stand them, and just recently my daughter was "recruited" by some old lady at the park when she walked up to the kids, and started talking to them about god. I though she was a grandma for one of the kids, but she was literally recruiting kids.
InteGrayting2 4 weeks ago
@InteGrayting2 See that's why I detest catholicism. Not all catholics just bigots and recruiters. They're oppurtunists waiting for the right time to strike, and they're so up themselves, far as their concerned what they're doing is truely noble when it's not. It's bigoted and arrogant and mormons knocking door to door is even worse. So what happened with your daughter? Is she converted?
Demogorgon47 3 weeks ago
@Demogorgon47 Nope. Their not getting their claws into my children. They have the same motto as McDonalds. If they get you by five, they have you for life. Lol
InteGrayting2 3 weeks ago
@InteGrayting2 Hhahahhahahah Good for you mate. Actually when I have kids one day I'm gonna raise them athiest, any advice for rasing an athiest kid?
Demogorgon47 3 weeks ago
@Demogorgon47 Yes. Always be honest, but delicate. The first time a child realizes one day the ride is over, you have to gently explain the cycle of life. How the flower sprouts, grows, blooms, and dies. How everything is connected, but we being just simple humans don't understand everything yet, and that we do not know what happens after we pass on. Kids can handle it, and do not need to believe in heaven to avoid fears of death.
InteGrayting2 3 weeks ago
@InteGrayting2 Hey thanks a lot. I appreciate the advice. I don't know whether it's a bit hypocritical as an athiest to let them believe in Santa Claus or all that. What do you think? I mean I don't think it's hypocritical, cause kids being kids, believing in Saint Nick is kinda just part of the fun of growing up but at the same time it still falls into to the whole dewey eyed fantasy nonsense thing that most christians hold dear, you know what I mean?
Demogorgon47 3 weeks ago
@Demogorgon47 Lol! Naw, it's cool. Frankly I think it's a good thing for kids to believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, and Jesus and God, but at about the age of 9 they have their moral compass, and do not need them to think somebody is always watching them to make sure they are good. When Santa goes, so do the rest, and they are better off for it from what I've seen. My atheist son is far nicer than a lot of the kids who are christian at his school, and have been told so by the school.
InteGrayting2 3 weeks ago
@InteGrayting2 Yeah. But the problem with believing in Jesus and God is that many don't grow out of it. Lol. It's good that you're son's so nice. Many athiests are a lot nicer then christians. No hard to see why. I guess going around telling people their gonna burn in hell isn't a good icebreaker. Lols :)
Demogorgon47 3 weeks ago
@relmneiko I've seen that myself. Please tell your brother that there are all sorts of groups that do not do this. He landed smack dab in the middle of a christian addict group, not a group of addicts. Most, and I do mean most are not this way, and he may have to "shop around" a bit to find a group he can identify and be open with, but holy crap is it worth the effort. I have seen groups that mock those 12 step christians as saying they are 12 steps minus 10. Don't give up.

@nebula25x ""the Bible describes a wrathful, vengeful, genocidal, sadistic and even jealous "God""" God as creating energy, has power beyond our comprehension. How do you know this? Have you been in hell or are you making shit up? Does it bother you that the bible describes hell as a lake of fire where people burn eternally?
Gnomefro 6 months ago
@Gnomefro "How do you know this?" This was a revelation, I visited the place, the reference of fire comes from the anxiety, it feels like it burn you inside. Is a horrible sensation, because you don't have a body, and no movement, so there's nothing you can do about it, the feeling of impotence and regret is overwhelming. Due to translations and errors, the Bible can only give you a general inspiration about a subject, anyone can get lost in the details, don't read it literally.
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@nebula25x ""God is in fact just a web of infinite connections of energy that can be shared via consciousness"" that is a close description, a modern analogy could be to view consciousness as a LAN, where our consciousness are individual computers, God is the server and the connection or cable is the Holy Spirit. ""I would however suggest using a different term than "god"" God was even wiser than that, God suggested not to give Him any name at all, because He knew the future implications.
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@nebula25x ""The ideas in Quantum Physics should not be confused with an omnipotent being"" People use quantum physics to support the existence of God because the events described by quantum physics may have been deemed as "supernatural" 200 yrs ago. dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@nebula25x ""basing ones life around worshiping some being"" God doesn't need worship, and all powerful being doesn't need that. We worship God because we are humbled by His magnificence. ""eternal damnation"" as I mentioned in another post, there's no hell the way most people described it, you damn yourself by rejecting God. continue...
dejesusluisx 6 months ago

dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@nebula25x ""God' is in fact not a supernatural "Being"" First, you have to define supernatural. Any power, entity, or cause that initiated the BB is by definition supernatural, since neither nature nor natural laws existed then. Now when we state that God live inside each of us and we are part of nature, then God too is part of nature, therefore God is not supernatural. Supernatural is just a word, which might take any meaning and it doesn't describe an actual quality of God. continue...

Personal accountability isn't contrary to religion and people understanding the contrary doesn't understand scripture. As a matter of fact, personal accountability is a necessary consequence of the doctrine of free will. No one religion has the absolute truth as neither have you. If we leave our bias aside and work together to understand each other I'm sure many more people can be enlightened and live fulfilled life the way God wanted it to be, by loving each other, which is the negation of ego.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx Well, first of all we should be sure that there is a god. Second of all we should be sure what his properties and plans are. We have none of it, so we can disregard god until we find evidence that he is real. And by the way: Fullfilled life? How do you think homosexuals could possibly live a fullfilled life if god wants us to kill them, saying that their an abomination? Forget god, no one needs that. Humanity should be over that nonsense by now :/
hanspeterpitsch 7 months ago 2
@hanspeterpitsch ""we should be sure"" if you decide to give it a chance, I'm sure you'll get to that conclusion. ""his properties and plans"" His properties are energy and consciousness, and His plan is for mankind to form one body as he has formed one body with the universe. He wants mankind to be like Him to be with Him. God doesn't reject the sinner, rejects the sin but if you don't reject the sin you would just destroy yourself. Everyone needs God to have peace, truly love and be 100% human
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx Ahhh, I call bullshit, dude. Some of the most peaceful and loving people I've ever met have been Buddhists, who (as you're probably aware) do not believe in a god, and certainly not the Christian one.
Buddhabright 7 months ago
@Buddhabright "Buddhists" they might not believe in God dogmatically but for all practical purposes are in communion with Him if they follow their spirituality to enlightenment. As expected, they need to follow a very critical and rigorous path to enlightenment, where as Christians have a straightforward path through Christ. They can be saved, but is more difficult. Having said that, is also fair to state that most Christians don't have a real understanding of the message embedded either.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx And don't even get me *started* on sin. Hell/salvation's the most morally obscene concept the human race has ever invented.
Buddhabright 7 months ago
@Buddhabright ""Hell/salvation's"" If you think is an obscene concept is just because you don't understand them. Hell doesn't exists the way is portrayed. Hell is the absence of God and there is no judgment. God doesn't send anyone to Hell, people send themselves. Hell is the eternal darkness. There is nothing obscene in fulfilling you wish of not wanting to be with God. But, be careful what you wish for...
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx Cool story bro. Bible says otherwise. Matthew 5:22 - "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
Buddhabright 7 months ago
@Buddhabright Anyone that reads the Bible with the eyes of a fundamentalists is a potential atheist, because the Bible can't be interpreted literally. Jesus wanted to emphasize the point that we have to be one body by loving each other. Read John 3:18-21. The reference to hell fire is the constant state of anxiety you consciousness will have when you realize you're no longer in this dimension, no body, no senses, or time perception. You'll think of every offense and sin, that feels like fire.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx But...that's...stupid. Seriously, that's a really retarded passage. It's just a repetition of the 'believe or be condemned' scare tactics.
Let's Occam's Razor this shit, right here and now. Show an empirically provable way for only believers in *your god* "to have peace, truly love and be 100% human". Otherwise, I'm gonna have to stand by my call of bullshit.
Buddhabright 7 months ago
@Buddhabright "retarded passage" clearly you didn't understand it, the passage is a revolutionary vision that even today isn't understood clearly. ""only believers in *your god* "" there's only one God, one divine consciousness and living the kingdom of God is being in God's wavelength. Buddhists call it Nirvana or Enlightenment, Hindus call that Moksha, Islam calls it Taubah and we call it living in Grace. There's only one divine consciousness with many names and dogmas, but just one reality.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx You're halfway making it to the point where you actually sound reasonable. What is missing now is:
"...There's only one reality, the fact that all the god ideas are worthless and that humanity simply doesn't know if there is ANY kind of god. While it may be possible, since heck, nothing is 100% impossible, it sure is not probable in any way.
Don't you realize that your religion is as ridiculous as any religion that existed before..? Not to offend you, but please wake up!
hanspeterpitsch 7 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch ""religion is as ridiculous as any religion"" beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, what you call ridiculous, we call sublime. Why you let your bias take the best out of you? Why let stubbornness, materialism, ego, sex, greed, manipulation, be anyone's north? Don't you think mankind deserve better than to be just animals that can think and build rockets? That is a deadly combination and what God tries to avoid, our self annihilation.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx I have, for many years, given it a chance. What you're basically saying is that if I "brainwash" myself long enough with the notion of god, that eventually I will believe. Sorry I'd like to have my mind free. How do you know his properties and plans? Wishful thinking.
Oh and that's nice, so gays should just hate themselves for their sexuality. What a fullfilling life that is, thank god *sarcasm*
Rejecting your own sexuality is what destroys you. And don't tell me it's a choice..
hanspeterpitsch 7 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch "How do you know his properties and plans? Wishful thinking" No, is called divine revelation, I was given a "papal seal", a proof to be understood by the right people that would convince everyone that the message is real. "should just hate themselves for their sexuality" abstinence is a negation of one's self, renounce of our selfish animal instincts, is like fasting, rejecting bribes, renouncing materialism; you haven't realized that sex for pleasure is primitive, a step back.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx You're just waffling. Dodging the question I asked. I'm still waiting for you to provide any kind of empirical proof that your religion is the only way to "have peace, truly love and be 100% human". Any kind of evidence that that's not preachy bullshit.
Buddhabright 7 months ago
@Buddhabright I give up on this guy.. I mean, look at his responses to my points, and yours of course. It's mind boggling, but we're sadly getting nowhere...
hanspeterpitsch 7 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch Yeah, I guess. He's kinda going about it wrong anyway if he's trying to argue his religion makes people good - especially when he claims it's the only way to be so. Hell, I wouldn't admit to being given a papal *anything*. Who wants to tell people the ancient, corrupt, lying shithead in charge of the world's single richest and most harmful church approves of their attitude?
Buddhabright 7 months ago
@Buddhabright ""I wouldn't admit to being given a papal *anything*."" A papal seal is the same as a royal seal, this was a wax button stamped with a seal closing the envelope, to assure the person to be given the message that it was authentic. In my case, the "papal seal" (or "royal seal" it really doesn't matter how you call it, but I was give that name) was another message which answers the most fundamental questions physicists have today. I'm afraid your bias don't let you see or understand.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx Okay, so it's a message to physicists maknig shit up about a god doing things to stars.
Still waiting on that proof, by the way.
Buddhabright 7 months ago

Buddhabright 7 months ago
@dejesusluisx You are saying god is real. Also you say god is logical and can be understood through reason and logic. First one needs proof and second one is false, or can you prove it? Come on, there's no reason to believe that there is a god, other than the good feeling you supposedly get from it. Or are you saying I'm not intelligent enough to realize that he's real?
hanspeterpitsch 7 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@hanspeterpitsch The proof is either personal or comes in the form of logical arguments, so you have to be willing to accept those as "proof" first, if not, is a waste of time. U see what u want.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@Buddhabright "Still waiting on that proof, by the way" All atheists are atheist for two reasons: 1. They reject the flawed dogmas created by man and assume if the dogmas are flawed, then God must not exist. 2. They want to have evidence before believing but are not willing to look for it. What if I told you, we put convincing evidence of God existence behind a closet door inside your house, wouldn't you be willing to open that door and look for it? The door is in your mind, open it you'll see
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@dejesusluisx Oh, good idea - try to tell a guy what he believes, and why. Make a great big straw man of him so you can knock it down and call it a victory.
Don't go trying to tell me what I think. It's feeble Fisher-Price psychology and it just confirms you've got nothing you can use except making shit up about people. I'm just gonna take this as confirmation that you've got no proof that your religion is the only way to "have peace, truly love and be 100% human". Bullshit, like I said.
Buddhabright 6 months ago
@Buddhabright ""take this as confirmation that you've got no proof"" As I said, the proof is personal, I have mine and you have to look for yours, you just don't want to open the door. I was a non-believer and I was a good person, and I thought I was happy and loving, but I wasn't. I now have a point of reference, if you lack a point of reference you can't affirm any kind of reality. Open your eyes.
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@dejesusluisx There you go again. Shit, you're that desperate for a straw to grasp? Screw it, I'm ending this here. I enjoy a reasoned debate as much as anyone, but this is beneath me.
Buddhabright 6 months ago
@hanspeterpitsch The fact that you don't understand that answers doesn't diminish the merits of the message. God is 100% logical and He can be understood through reason and logic. Read the answers again and I'll be more that willing to help you understand.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago

@Buddhabright ""your religion is the only way to "have peace, truly love and be 100% human"" when did I said that my religion was the only way? I said living in grace, being in God's wavelength is the only way, the religions don't matter what matter is your relationship with God. Sure some dogmas would bring you closer to the concept of God than others, but the way to God is living His message and His message was incarnated in Christ. There is just one God, dogmas come and go but God is eternal

this is exactly right, I have died 3 times in my life and had a very unique experience, witch was a major reason for 360 degree change in my personality, my thoughts & understanding to life and existence, because of this direct physical experience I have a higher IQ, and the ability to better teach my self and learn any thing I have under taken in the past 7 years it has been astonishing to me and my family I am the one in my family to finish collage with 3 degrees 4 certifications and more

Psalms 137:8-9 Prayer/song of vengeance “0 daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.”
The biblical deity is EVIL.

WTF ????????
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@7strawman7 Sorry, I didn't understand anything in your last post. Can you clarify what it is you are suggesting and provide evidence for it. Because it sounds like you've been living in an alternate universe where giant invisible fairy story characters are real, and history is completely different. Last time I looked the Federal reserve bank is owned by private banks, the controlling shareholders being the Jewish Rockefeller and Rothschild families.
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@7strawman7 "the entire planet under one totalitarian rule & manifest Lucifer(the light-giver) as god with nothing to thwart them? yea, glad thats not happening anymore."
Me neither, but it took secular governments to do it by booting the church out of politics. And even today Christianity is constantly trying to get its death grip back. In some USA states you can't run for office unless you are a Christian. Talk about a fast tract for a return to the dark ages. Barking mad.
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@7strawman7 There is no such things as an all-knowing entity. If there was, no freewill could exist. Omniscience + freewill = Oxymoron.
If something knows our future for a fact, it has seen/experienced it. From our perspective our lives would be like watching a movie for the first time, there, but powerless to change the story. We'd be left with predestination.
The upshot being an eternal torture for being unable to change a predetermined existence. We have freewill not predetermination.
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@Valthepixie There is no such thing as an omnipotent being. It amounts to a claim there is a giant invisible fairy story character. No evidence.
There is no such thing as infinity. Again no evidence. It is a pathetic word that labels our lack of knowledge of the bigger picture. Once upon a time it meant off the edge of a flat planet, just over the horizon. The current known size of the Universe is 78 BILLION light years across.
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@7strawman7 Don't need to go outside of reality to disprove anything. Define infinity, define your deity. You cant do either so you have no argument at all. The blind watchmaker argument, you are arguing against yourself. A creator, would need a creator that needs a creator and so on.
You have one thing right, the self confession of "Its all random bc MY limited perspective". Go read a science book instead of dark ages codswallop. ;)
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@7strawman7 The truth is you can't even quantify what you believe. There is'nt even a consensus amongst believers of the same religion. So you don't have an argument in the first place. Your belief in it, no matter how sincere, is not equal to the scientific facts that prove otherwise. ie evolution and chaos. Life has been proven to evolve, it has been proven to spontaneously arise from basic chemicals. Life does not need a creator and neither does energy and matter.
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@7strawman7 Sorry but you are challenging scientific fact with an unsubstantiated hypothesis of there being a giant invisible fairy story character. To be able to challenge scientific fact you have to prove it without any doubt. Your belief in it, no matter how sincere, does not equate with proven facts.
You are are also assuming the thoughts of "spitiual man", agree with your unsubstantiated hypothesis. Belief in the Sun as deity is fact based, everything in the universe is made of star dust..
Valthepixie 8 months ago
@7strawman7 We are completely at the mercy of the sun, in no way have we conquered it. If it spits at us and wipes our electricity out, we'll be back to the 1700's in the blink of an eye.
The biblical God on the other hand has less than zero substantiation. It can be traced back to ancient Sumeria as El of the Elohim. The sun - El , dusk and dawn - Elohim.
Order has been proven without doubt to come out of chaos. You are arguing from a point of total ignorance on the subject.
Valthepixie 8 months ago

Your rationalization is flawed and wrong.
scjoiner 10 months ago 29
@scjoiner It is true that certain religions, lacking a connection with the principles of revelation, have been influenced in their appearance and growth by the social environment and similar factors. However, it is illogical to ascribe the foundation of all faiths and religious tendencies to material or economic circumstances and demands, to fear of the terrifying forces of nature, to ignorance or to considerations rejected by science.
1tabligh 9 months ago
@scjoiner God is energy and to be in tune with energy, you need to be in the same wavelength. The same with God; you need to be in His wavelength to be saved. Buddhists call it Nirvana or Enlightenment, Hindus call that moksha, Islam calls it Taubah and we call it living in Grace. There's only one divine consciousness with many names and dogmas, but just one reality we call God. Most people can't grasp this concept and the fact Jesus commanded all of us to be one with the father and each other.
dejesusluisx 7 months ago
@mastermind1000 Yeah, even Christians reject Pascals Wager as it means that you are only believing in God because it might be right not because you believe it is right. But as others have said, Pascals Wager only makes sense if their is only a choice between Christianity and Secularism. There is not. Literally millions of Gods have existed in hundreds of different faiths and cultures. Take your pick of any of them. But you still might be wrong.
Fucking fail.
LondonIrishRover 9 months ago 15
@LondonIrishRover Without doubt, one of the factors in the emergence of anti-religious ideas and a phalanx of deniers of God, has been the false teachings, the inadequacies and the intellectual perversions of the followers of some religions. The peculiarities and separate characteristics of each religion must, therefore, be individually examined when studying the reasons that have led men to adhere to that religion.
1tabligh 9 months ago
@LondonIrishRover Pascal's Wager also fails because they're assuming that god is stupid enough to be fooled by your choice of "belief". Like, hey I choose to be a christian and god isn't smart enough to realize that I'm just hedging my bets because I want to go to heaven.
Pascal's Wager fails on so many levels.
VesusSheist 8 months ago
@LondonIrishRover ""Literally millions of Gods have existed in hundreds of different faiths and cultures"" Not millions, but thousands indeed; but not thousands of God's, thousands of dogmas. There's only one God, which didn't wanted to be named to avoid these misunderstandings. Dogmas are man made and they can be wrong, but God is real. You can know this fact too if you decide to believe. If I tell you that the evidence is behind a closed door, wouldn't you open it to see? Open your eyes.
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@dejesusluisx Was that your attempt at an argument? God is real and the only way to see the evidence is to believe that he is real, even though any rational person would need evidence before they believe he is real. That doesnt make sense, does it? Open your mind.
LondonIrishRover 6 months ago
@LondonIrishRover ""any rational person would need evidence before they believe he is real"" any rational person that is looking for something would look to find it, unless you admit that you don't care about God existence at all; and if that's the case, I don't see any reason for you to post in atheists blogs or to think about the subject at all, much less to justify and defend your position of lack of faith. If you don't care, no matter what evidence I present, you won't accept it.
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@dejesusluisx You haven't presented any evidence for your God though. All you have said is that 'I can know this is a fact if I decide to believe.' That is not evidence. If you have evidence then by all means share it with me.
LondonIrishRover 6 months ago 2
@LondonIrishRover "If you have evidence then by all means share it with me" You can logically infer the existence of God but no one can demonstrate His existence with empirical evidence because if God would be obvious, free will would be gone. If you build a perfect tool for cutting, it is illogical to use it as a hammer. Our existence is based solely in our consciousness and free will, if we don't have that freedom, there is no reason for us to exist. continue....
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
@LondonIrishRover ...continue.. Therefore the evidence would be either personal or questionable. I'll tell you something I haven't shared before. I received a message that proves God exists, the message summarize all the secrets of the universe, how everything came to be, but, the explanation solves the problem of creation without God. So, I have a dilemma, If I publish the message, God will be completely explained away from the universe. The problem is it came from God, and I'm the only witness
dejesusluisx 6 months ago
