  • I saw Jimmy sing this past summer, 2011 and he still sounds the same as he did back in 1960, an amazing voice. Keep it up Jimmy!

  • Yes those were the days my initiation to harmony was Augie and The Notations who sang in the pool hall hallway on Collage Avenue in The Bronx Augie when he was a little boy had that Christmas hit Mamasita Donda Esta Santa Clause, when I first heard them they were singing Ballad of a Dee Jay by The Del Satins, about The Big Bopper's death it is on you tube by The Del Satins if you never heard it anyway it blew me away and I started hanging out there to listen.

  • My favorite doowop groups. Thank You for sharing.

  • Sorry, only one original Passion here Jimmy,! Lou Rotando sang with a later version of the group the other two guys are Steve Horn (the bass of my old group The Five Sharks) and Frank Mancusco who sang lead for The Imaginations, Jimmy, Steve and Frank sing in a group called The Legends of Doo Wop, Great to hear Jimmy, but these were not The Oiginal group and, Bruce should know better or not agree to fool old fans desparate for an original group!

Eddie Black, first tenor /lead The Five Sharks

  • So true where is Albie the founder. I know these are not originals. Albie lives next door to me.

  • @122855ff Yes it pissed me off that the people running the show and Bruce Morrow would peddle this off as such, it is good, I know the guys singing one of them was my old bass but the original Passions they are not, The trouble is people of a certain age are so desperate for a memory that they sometimes believe in things that are not quite true!

  • @rakeuiff The group members were among those vocalists whose harmony haven was the alley of Loew's Oriental Theatre in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. The nearby Kelly's pool room served as an occasional rehearsal hall. When five of the bunch formed the Overons (who later became THE MYSTICS), the remaining members became the Sinceres. They included Tony Armato, Albie Galione, Vinny Acierno, Nicky Lombardi and John Pangi.

  • jimmy sounds just like he did back in the dayz

  • Jimmy Gallagher is sensational. If you think he sounds wonderful on this song, check him out on This Is My Love; it's almost better than the original. GREAT!

  • magnificent

  • I wish they would play a date near me.

  • Saw The Passions at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank this weekend.

They sound as good if not better than decades ago. Not only that but they are great guys who enjoy meeting with their fans as much as performing for us. Their sound and music will live forever.

  • Saw Jimmy and The Passions at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank this past weekend. After all these years they sound as good if not better. They are also great down to earth guys who love singing for and meeting with their fans. Their sound will live forever.

  • This guy is a legend. He should be in the hall of fame. Listen to that voice after all these years!

  • What a fantastis effort from a guy who sang the song some 50 years ago just brilliant, what an inspiration

  • Talking about guy's that still sound good after all of them years how can we not mention, Jay Black, lead from J & the Americans & also Jimmy Baumont from the Skyliners They still sound the same as when they did in the 50's & 60's

  • I agree, much older but still a great sound

  • Fantastic, what more can i say, maybe, OUTSTANDING, sounds so good, forever music

  • This is great! Nothing like experience!

  • Magnificent rendition

  • That's Incredble to hear this song as recorded back in 1959, I still have the Org 45, In Great Cond, And "I only want you too, 50 yrs later Wow! Bravo! Jimmy and The Passions

  • If anyone lives in the NY/NJ/PA area, try and see a Richard Nader Doo Wop concert at the Continental Arena. He has had the Passions there many times. The promoters try to bring all the original members together for the nite. When I lived in NJ, I attended every concert. I now live in KS but I make it a point to go back every year so my sister and I can attend. Have never been disappointed.

  • This performance is 48 years after the original hit record and they sound the same, maybe better. This music will never die. This performance is OUTSTANDING! Better than 5 stars!

I'd like to see today's "singers" equal this feat after 48 years! Bravo Jimmy!!

  • Amazing how Jimmy sounds exactly the same as he did back in 1960. A true legend.

Johnny Maestro is another singer who has maintained his beautiful voice over the years.

  • Where has Jimmy Gallager disappeared to, I heard that he's not with the legends of Doowop either. Jimmy where are you?

  • I'm going to see Legends of Doo Wop on Sunday Nov. 9, and Jimmy is not with them anymore. He is booked for several appearances with the Passions in the coming months, so I guess he has rejoined them?
