I never knew there was a cartoon based on this toyline. I remember seeing these toy as a kid. My parents wouldn't buy my brother and I any of them because they thought the wings looked too fragile and that we would break them in no time.
I didn't know this story began with so much tragedy. Some top scientists were working on a breakthrough discovery to try and improve their society, but as a result they were horribly mutated into insectoid creatures, and chaos ravaged the planet. Couldn't they have just had it take place on an alient bug planet? I can't believe anyone would try to make light of that kind of situation.
@culturaleyes I initially thought the same thing. Why not just make it a battle between good & evil on a insect evolved alien world, but I think that the shows creators were trying to make a point about real scientist engaging in dangerous experiments like nuclear energy, which was a real hot button topic in the '80s.
Hi Madkid99. I have viewed the Sectaurs cartoons. It has been so long since I have seen them. Do you have the last three episodes posted? I do not see them.
Skulk and Trancula were my faves. I had all the action figures. Only thing I didn't have was the fortress of the Dark Domain. In fact, I still have Skulk and Trancula!
this was a very underrated cartoon and toy line, i went through alot of fazes as a child, i was into he-man, then voltron, then sectaurs, then gi joe and transformers and had alot of toys from all these.
WOW! What a blast from the past! I had every toy in this series. The hive was awesome! I liked the villans much better in this series, I mean I was like 5 and into catching bugs and these toys were GIANT BUGS!! Ah the memories! The toys and toons from the 80's from my child hood were hands down the best, second to none!!
This show was not long lived at all, think there were only 6 episodes, i had them all on tape, then about a month later my dad taped over it with an episode of the golden girls for my mom /cry.
i had all the toys including the hive.... wish i could go back.
@willjavtor Uh...they're not trying to "fool" anyone, that's the voice of Peter Cullen - a very popular voice actor in the 80's who was in pretty much every major cartoon. Yes, he was Optimus Prime. He was also a ton of other characters on other shows.
@youngrebels75 Yep, Arthur Burghardt. Another voice actor who did a ton of cartoon voices back then. Destro being his most famous (and AWESOME), by far!
thanks for posting this. I always wanted to get the figures when I was a kid, but they were just too expensive, and I rather buy a Transformer. Anyway, these episodes bring back memories
@CodeBlue40 Yup! I had the toys too! Compeletly unique and fun! The cartoon was good too, but a bit short-lived! Man, I love being an 80's kid, WE had the BEST, unlike what these poor kids have today!
"How do you like that, maggots!" LOL! It was so much fun to watch this. I collected the toys and read the Marvel comics when I was a kid, but I've never seen this show until now. Thanks! (Incidentally, that's gotta be Mr. Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen, voicing Mantor, right?)
The Sectaurs Warriors Of Symbion was awesome. I think the voice of Spidrax was the same guy behind the Voice of Destro from G.I.Joe and the voice of Prince Dargon is known other than the guy who voiced Spidey in Spider-Man and his amazing friends.
Madkid99 I am totally feeling this 80's relic. I'm a huge Sectaurs fan till this day I was only a year old when this show hit and even though I never saw it I collected all the figures and comics. But I never caught the show so this is a treat. You just gotta post the rest, I'll be waiting!
Yeah they were! Check ebay, there really well made and they still kick ass even by todays standerds so check em out you won't regret it. Just yesterday I poped in some battires in Spiderflyer and Draragonfly and they both still work! If thats not craftsmanship
God tell me you have the rest of these. I used to own the Hyve when I was a kid. I never thought I'd see any of them again. I still got most of the toys in boxes somewhere. Damn they were built well. If only the elbows had joints like their knees do =P
I never knew there was a cartoon based on this toyline. I remember seeing these toy as a kid. My parents wouldn't buy my brother and I any of them because they thought the wings looked too fragile and that we would break them in no time.
