@Camillewolf No, with horses there are set colours (Paint, Black, Chestnut, White and Bay), and for the gender part, you never see that far into it lol. But you can name it, by using a cheat for the PC version; setactorfullname "name"

there are stables outside of almost every city in oblivion where you can buy horses for a pretty reasonable amount. around 500 to 1500 gold usually, but some can be more expensive. you can steal them, but its pointless because the horse doesnt stay with you, it just leaves when you get off of it.

I haven't replied to a comment on here in a LONG time, but I had to reply to this one.

Not every game has poor collision detection and a handful of preprogrammed animations for character movement. It's a bit unfair to compare it to other games that don't have this problem, as they are probably all newer than this old game, but go pick up any of the blockbuster games you've seen in the past couple of years and tell me they all have this problem.

lol the oblivion was released on 2006 hl2 was released on 2004 and it still has 1 of the best in game physics these days :) like npc foot ground detecting and such as stuff like in this video could never happen :) tho crytek engine is a major threat in physics to hl2 :/

lol the source is from 1998 and even than it was game of the future :/ and hl2 same as oblivion actually uses the same physics engine- havok but Valve company improved it... every1 thinks that source engine is also physics but its mostly for visual :) they just got havok engine with huge improvement that it doesnt even look like havok anymore

Yes, it can be fixed. My use of "simple" can be taken in various contexts, so I apologize for any ambiguities. "Simple" in the sense that while it would have taken more effort; there are libraries that exist (hell, maybe within their own physics and collisions engines) that would cut down on the apparent effect. That effort wasn't put in. That might not be a bad thing, if the effort was put in elsewhere in the actual gameplay instead. We'll leave that up for another discussion.

This is not a horsey game. This is Oblivion, a role-playing game for Xbox 360, PC, and now PS3. This particular video is from the Xbox 360 version. You do get to ride a horse a lot if you want, so maybe you should pick it up anyway.

Speaking of Shadowmere, most people don't know that if you kill him you can hide your stolen stuff in his corpse, and then he comes back to life and you can pay off your fine without worry.

lol i stole a horse in that game and they didnt catch me until i talked to a guard well away from the barn i stole it from i resisted arrest then i got away from him then i killed the horse!! and after its body was on the ground i burned it!! then i went to jail when i gaurd passed by i went back and the body was still there!! so i used it as practice for my bow then i...burned it again!! thats how evil i am!!

Well if you want to be really picky, ppl don't normally try and ride a horse down something that steep, but its a videogame and your horse would be paralized from a fall like that in real life. but I sill found the video imformative.
