I am just curious if everyone that feels that the Bodies Exhibition is disrespectful also feel that the mummy exhibit that is at the museum is also disrespectful? I personally do not see a difference but yet people get up in arms about this exhibit. I do not see a problem with either one. Everyone has their own opinions on id something is morel and just where as the next person has a totally different opinion. One culture may see the exhibit as normal while the next sees it as taboo.
@moello888 According to chinese doctor they inject plastic liquid alive into their bodies.. tapes of conversations exist The Genocide Courts has set in with arrest warrents .
Ha I am going to that with 39 other people for biology.. going to skip school, see real human bodies, and go to nyc for $16.00!!! It's unreal... now only if justin bieber would perform there......:D
I wonder..UMMMM.all are chinese people, poor, needed by hunger to sell the body of their relatives, unknown and killed by the government by political reasons. All these people in that freaking expo or whatever is called didn,t chose to be part of this doll party or to be recorded, that's not art or medicine it is using the power of money and justifying it with a study of medicine when they pretend to make art from injustice and unequality.that's no right¡
the circulatory system is sweet, how cares if they are unclamied they are famous now, they are being used for our benifits, hippies are why the world can never improve it's full potental, i mean they always have something to say about something, they stop the knocking down of trees, talk about the green house effect, they need to do there research and stay up to date on the newest research that has been released and get the fuck out of the way they need to also quit hitting the pipe.....
I went. I saw. I researched. I'm embarrassed I paid money for a show that deviously exploits and disrespects the human body and these poor individuals. Do your research. These bodies are unclaimed and unidentified, not donated. This is not art.
O well i went to see it and i think that even though they might be unclaimed or donated their bodies are going towards educating the masses and even though some of the people might not have wanted to be in a show its at least not as bad as them being sold to people for profit i highly doubt that if you went to see it that you saw it as a disrespectful act.
Obviously your research skills suck because the bodies ARE donated, at least as far as the Body World exhibit is concerned. And how exactly are the bodies being disrespected? I suppose some guy nailed to a cross qualifies as art? It doesn't even have to be art; it's educational.
I agree with you, it is educational, but with disregard to the wishes and respects of human beings. P.S. I DID my research and am referring to THIS show, Bodies, The Exhibition which uses, as I stated above, bodies that are are unclaimed and unidentified, not donated. Not all of these shows are the same, and many of us have a problem with the way this show acquires it's bodies. Do YOUR research 73ohjohnnyboy73.
I have no problem with people who give permission to put their body on display after death. Bodyworlds states "The bodies belonged to people who declared during their lifetime that their bodies should be made available after their deaths for the qualification of physicians and the instruction of laypersons." You tell me, without a doubt where Bodies, The Exhibition gets their bodies. Open your eyes. And for those of you who don't care, you're just a sad excuse for civilized human being.
This is an example of research: This show claims: "Disclaimer: This exhibit displays human remains of Chinese citizens or residents which were originally received by the Chinese Bureau of Police. The Chinese Bureau of Police may receive bodies from Chinese prisons. Premier cannot independently verify that the human remains you are viewing are not those of persons who were incarcerated in Chinese prisons." What more?
Here's more from Bodies, The Exhibition: "This exhibit displays full body cadavers as well as human body parts, organs, fetuses and embryos that come from cadavers of Chinese citizens or residents. With respect to the human parts, organs, fetuses and embryos you are viewing, Premier relies solely on the representations of its Chinese partners and cannot independently verify that they do not belong to persons executed while incarcerated in Chinese prisons." Their words, not mine.
Why are we allowing a traveling display representing an act considered illegal in the U.S??? Body Worlds does NOT use "bodies from deceased persons who did not give consent, such as prison inmates and hospital patients from Kyrgyzstan, and executed prisoners from China are not used by Body Worlds."
Bodies, The Exhibition DOES use these bodies, as you will read on...
You're right. This particular exhibit does not feature donated bodies. However, for the sake of education, I think it is better that the bodies do not "go to waste" so to speak. It is curious though that the exhibit is allowed in the US considering the circumstances, but then again, the US has been letting the Chinese do whatever they want for decades now.
these bodies are donated by the person before they die, they are plasticized and then put in the exhibition. they are meant to show people how amazing the human body is, it isn't disrespecting the person at all.
Of course its disrespectful ,bunch of freaks
I guess most
Of 'em dont even know this are real bodies they dont give a shit

Wow, you stated, "i highly doubt that if you went to see it that you saw it as a disrespectful act."
Well, Just to clarify, I reply and repeat...
#1 I went to see it.
#2 I saw it as a disrespectful act.
#3 How would you feel if someone you loved died and was mutilated and displayed for strangers without their permission and against their wishes?
#4 Shouldn't an exhibition like this take steps to be responsible and respectful of the wishes of the living and dead?
#5 WHO ELSE AGREES? SPEAK OUT!
