You thought Los Angeles was bad. One time I was inside an N.Y. subway car that was nearly empty when this bum got on and started peeing in a corner of the car. He then zipped up his zipper then proceeded to exit at the next stop. The few riders acted as though nothing happened. What a town.
This may sound crazy. But, I think this woman in the pink sweater actually approached me one time and asked if I believed in Jesus, for which I answered "YES". This happened a few years ago. But, when I gave her the answer, she started talking in tongues at me and said "JESUS LOVES YOU". LOL! :)
Has anyone seen any videos of this dude who rides the redline. He's either retarded or has autisim or something. He just stands by the door usually and screams at the driver whenever he gets on or off. I want to show my friends this dude so bad!!
Gosh, how I love this vid! I've been in LA for 2 weeks and every single time i rode the subway there were freaking crazy people there doing the weirdest things i've ever seen in my whole life... seriously... :S it was funny and frightening at the same time xDD
god i love LA :D when i was on the blue line to south central LA on july 4th there was a woman dressed like a black angel and she looked crazy well that is LA like i know it
god i love LA :D when i was on the blue line to south central LA on july 4th there was a woman dressed like a black angel and she looked crazy well that is LA like i know it
That reminds me of this guy who I always see on the train when I go to school every morning. He's always trying to sell stuff and saying "Cigars, lighters, barrettes, etc." There's also another guy who comes on the CTA buses and is literally a walking preacher, always talking about Jesus and crap.
cant wait for them to extend the wilshire shuttle aka purple line to ucla or santa monica. also the beverly hills/WeHo connector(pink line) and extensions of the red line to burbank, sylmar , el monte or even santa clarita would be so awesome!
That's why I could never live in Los Angeles, California no mames pinche jente loca!! Last time I was in Holywood and there was a manarguing, fighting, and actually punching a stop sign. Plus I like guns, you can't own shit in L.A. -TX
@skripts1 - I live in D.C. and take our metro daily. In 15 years I have never seen this kind of bizarre crap. What is it with L.A. ? I have taken the "red line" ( hey, there is only one heavy rail line in L.A. why isn't it just called 'the subway'?). The people were pretty rowdy. Despite the occasional problem ( last year's wreck on OUR red line), I'll take our system any day. But then, D.C. is urban. It's a real city. L.A. seems to be nothing but a big sprawl - strip mall after strip mall. Ugh.
@ajavier2013 No.... that's wrong. The issue deals with HEAVY RAIL. L.A. has other LIGHT rail lines. It has one HEAVY rail line, with a small extension a "second" line with a grand total of TWO stops on its "purple line" on Wilshire. This is hardly a real Heavy Rail system, or Metro as it's usually known as. It's too late, L.A. will never be a real city. What you have is a heavy rail line downtown, and a couple of light rail lines. I feel sorry for L.A. What will you do with $5 -6 a gallon gas?
@ajavier2013 The problem with light rail is that it is not grade separated. It crosses streets for instance. That being the case, light rail trains normally are much slower. Next, light rail trains are much smaller and passenger capacity is much less. We have up to 8 car trains. That size train will carry easily 1000 people. The Metro now moves around 775,000 people a day. All of LA's light rail lines carry about 150,000 a day. It just doesn't compare.
@ajavier2013 LA has been built for cars. For heavy rail, you need population density in general, but a very dense population and business center. LA doesn't have a large downtown, especially when you consider the population of the city, and the greater LA area. So, the question becomes.... where do you run the lines? LA had no real center... it has dozens. Light rail may help some, but if gasoline prices go up... and they will, LA will have huge problems.
@dsindc Los Angeles does have a large downtown city center. At almost 13 square miles Los Angeles's downtown is bigger than most downtowns. The Wilshire corridor on the Westside and the MacArthur Park district are among the most densly populated areas anywhere in the country according to a USC study back in the late 80's.
@denny906 Nope. This the ranking according to "Metropolitan Institute at Virginia Tech". New York (374,345,143 sq. ft.) 2. Chicago (134,533,476 sq. ft.) 3. Washington, DC (81,285,863 sq. ft.) 4. Boston (78,094,079 sq. ft.) 5. San Francisco (68,449,408 sq. ft.) 6. Philadelphia (53,612,971 sq. ft.) 7. Los Angeles (50,838,105 sq. ft.) 8. Dallas (37,204,314 sq. ft.) 9. Houston (37,192,663 sq. ft.) 10. Denver (26,509,449 sq. ft.) **Downtown D.C. is almost half again the size of L.A.
@denny906 This does not include inner suburban "downtowns" like Tysons Corner, about 9 miles from D.C. and inside the beltway." Tysons Corner is the 12th largest central business district in the United States. It is twice the size of the downtown Atlanta area, about the same size as Denver.Tysons Corner boasts more than 26 million square feet of office space, making it not only Virginia’s largest office market but one of the most important and influential business districts in the nation."
@denny906 That info about Tysons Corner was from its offical site. It did not mention that there is a Metro line under constructions from D.C. through Tysons, to Dulles Airport, total 23 miles, some underground. There are several "downtowns" in suburban D.C., but they're all linked by the Metro. D.C. strikes people as European in feel. But most don't realize how urban, and just plain big it is. Something like 800,000 people use Metro daily, and I think we could teach L.A. something. (cont)
@denny906 I was in L.A. not too long ago, not the first time - and I've always liked it. It had rained, and there was fresh snow in the mountains & air was crystal clear. But I'm worried about sprawling cities when gas prices take off-and they will. D.C. is part of the N.E. corridor, lots of trains. 40 million people between NY and D.C., and that's only 200 miles. I think L.A. needs heavy rail "EL" like Chicago. Much faster than light rail, but elevated mostly. Just a thought.
@dsindc Los Angeles has two heavy rail lines, the Purple line along Wilshire and the Red line that goes to Hollywood and the Valley. The Purple line funding was approved by the Los Angeles MTA for extension to West Los Angeles.
I ride the los angeles metro trains sort of simi-irregularly. I to have encounter all types of people. Some are very nice some not so nice . Its always entertaining and certanly always an adventure.
I've seen many a crazy person around these parts. This is nothing new to me, seeing as how I travel throughout Los Angeles County along the Metro. Long as they don't try anything, you're cool.
This is nothing. You wanna see something really wacky check out the soulja girl video on the Atlanta MARTA subway line. That chick is completely off the chain. ATL is bonkers.
OMG I have come across that same f...ing women like 3 times now...she tries always to talk to me but I NEVER EVER acknowledge her presence .... one time she totally crossed the line when a lady had her deaf child and this ridiculous women told the lady that it was the mothers fault that the kid was deaf.....so sad
I've seen her too many times. She sat next to me once. It's funny if anyone tells her to go STFU, she goes nuttiers and starts cussing them out and hexing them.
im indifferent to sleeping people on the subway if it doesnt effect. However, if there were no seats avlb and someone was taking up four like that I would be pissed. I work my ass off so I can pay rent every month so I have a bed to sleep in - so ill be damned if I'm going to stand after paying for a ticket for a person who doesnt work.
i dont own LA but I rented space on that subway and if its for my ass if theres a seat avlb. I'm not prejudice to homeless people. I made a dude who had all his shopping bags on a seat move them awhile ago because we paid the same so why does he get two seats and i get none when I've worked on my feet all day. Ya you know that thing WORK!??
Yea that black guy talking to himself, has got a huge mob of homies. You have never ever seen a man tuck in his sheets so crisp and unwrinkled, a military fashion such as him. he puts guys a boot camp to shame.
