@bugzteen - It took her 8 tries to get it published, it's only famous since it has rob and teens go crazy for him, and stephen king even said she can't write. I know it's her own style but there are things in mythology that you have to follow or they wouldn't make sense. It's like saying unicorns have no horn, or cyclops have more then one eye.

@4EverHPLuver , Vampires are immune to the powers of wizards and witches. Edward was tortured by Jane. Yes, Edward can only be tortured but not killed. Jane is a vampire. She is not a witch. Jane's power is vampire's power. It is not a spell. The only beings that can kill a vampire is a werewolf or another vampire. If vampires suffer pain, they can regenerate easily but wizards cannot.
@andurilhighking - I see your point, but if the spell has the element that can kill vampires (fire) then the vampire wouldn't be immune to it, even if it is a wizard. Yeah, Harry's injuries do take a long time to heal, but that's since he's human. He has other things to help him (broom,invisibility cloak, etc ..). Other vampire stories do have the vampires immune to them, but Stephanie didn't say anything about that in her books.
@andurilhighking, Continuing: You can't say 'Oh, it's in other books and mythology' . Then, If Stephenie were to follow that, she wouldn't have made them sparkly, veggie, and fang-less. That just shows how bad of a writer she is, she didn't do enough research, so give her the tip, not me.

It's up to her to write her own version of vampires, she doesn't have to follow the characteristics from legendary book like Dracula. Stephenie must be a good writer otherwise her books would not be published.
@4EverHPLuver When harry potter receives injuries or scars, it takes days or weeks in order to heal. Everytime he receives injuries and scars, he has to stay in hospital wing for a long time. Edward can heal with just a split of a second without the aids of medicines

SMeyer dropped any sort of interesting subplot within a few a pages. e.g. Rosalie's 'backstory'.

Voldemort is obsessed with his quest to be immortal, showing a fear of death, a fear of which we all have. It shows people with power and how those people can abuse that power. It has prejudice involved separating people into groups, mudbloods being at the bottom. There's love in it too and the ever present adolescence theme. So what's so meaningful in Twilight?

I know it's her own style but there are things in mythology that you have to follow or they wouldn't make sense. It's like saying unicorns have no horn, or cyclops have more then one eye.

@MIXIEJAYNE haha, i agree. Edward isn't hot, but daniel radcliff isn't exactly beautiful himself. haha. Twilight is a great story actually, i got hooked after to reading the first chapter and couldn't put the book down, that has to count for something, i didn't even know what "edward" looked like whilst reading the book.

@andurilhighking, Vampires are not immune to them. Remember what Jane did to Edward in the 2nd book? There's a spell for that. In the Harry Potter books, there are vampires, but wizards have kept them under control easily. MeyPires' are like practice. I used to like love Twilight 4 months ago, but then I had to read something else since my teacher said Twilight has a low reading level, and I read Harry Potter. It's so much better. Oh, and Harry Potter already is a legend. Twilight's a fad(e) .

@4EverHPLuver , Vampires are immune to the powers of wizards and witches. Edward was tortured by Jane. Yes, Edward can only be tortured but not killed. Jane is a vampire. She is not a witch. Jane's power is vampire's power. It is not a spell. The only beings that can kill a vampire is a werewolf or another vampire. If vampires suffer pain, they can regenerate easily but wizards cannot.

@andurilhighking - I see your point, but if the spell has the element that can kill vampires (fire) then the vampire wouldn't be immune to it, even if it is a wizard. Yeah, Harry's injuries do take a long time to heal, but that's since he's human. He has other things to help him (broom,invisibility cloak, etc ..). Other vampire stories do have the vampires immune to them, but Stephanie didn't say anything about that in her books.

@andurilhighking, Continuing: You can't say 'Oh, it's in other books and mythology' . Then, If Stephenie were to follow that, she wouldn't have made them sparkly, veggie, and fang-less. That just shows how bad of a writer she is, she didn't do enough research, so give her the tip, not me.

@4EverHPLuver sorry, but i wanted to state that making the vampires all those things was only stephenies imagination of vampires, how she see's them. It's up to her to write her own version of vampires, she doesn't have to follow the characteristics from legendary book like Dracula. Stephenie must be a good writer otherwise her books would not be published.

@4EverHPLuver When harry potter receives injuries or scars, it takes days or weeks in order to heal. Everytime he receives injuries and scars, he has to stay in hospital wing for a long time. Edward can heal with just a split of a second without the aids of medicines

@andurilhighking I agree that Vampires would definately overpower wizards/witches easily, referring to the vampire
