Take skeetman25's advice about the floor plate! I have went through 2 already! it will stress half way down the floor plate and snap! I have had this gun 8 years! I have added custom parts too! walnut grips, slide release, Novak sights, 9+1 capacity in OEM mags, case hardened firing pin, wolf 16.5 lbs spring, 5 lbs trigger, Galco FLETCH leather high ride rig and working decocker! I cut .223brass and handload 90gr Hornady XTP HP to 1700fps! I carry locked and cocked, and never feel out gunned!
Don't use the magazine floorplate to take the barrel out. It becomes worn and bent, it will eventually fall off during the recoil of the weapon and your spring, plate and ammo will be at your feet, very embarrasing. You can also use the tip of your thumbnail to push the F pin plunger in while pushing the f. pin back in at the same time, no need for a punch. Just push it in until it clicks into place. Much faster. :D They are neat pistols, I love mine, got a 9mm barrel for it for $70 bux at AIM..

does this gun have a external slide release or do you have to slingshot it?

It has a catch (obviously) but not a release that's made like a "button".
So it's made to be slingshotted, but you can also release the catch or even add aftermarket releases.

Yes please post your video on how I can improve my technique. Be sure that you can do it in less time. I don't have two minutes to waste on vid.
