@hieizgirl I looked the piece up on the Pianostreet website. It is sort of the gold standard for leveling among many pianists......I guess! It rates it a level 6. I think that's about right when I compare it to some of the other pieces I have played. It's fun to play though!
This is a very nice piece, and you play it very well. I just started playing about a year ago and have learned some Chopin, Beethoven, and Debussy, but i've been trying to discover "new to me" classical pieces that appeal to me such as the one you play here. What are some of you other fav's?
@hollis76er Well, if you look on my channel, the ones I have played already, whether I was ready to play them or not, are some of my favorites. I learned the unconventional way! I was led by my heart and not my skill level! Some, if not MOST of the pieces I play, I was not and STILL am not ready to play.......but I just HAD TO! Because of this, I have a lot of holes in my training and learning. I still have many others I would like to learn, but not enough time lately.
is this the urtext? I play this as well, but my edition doest have the repeating in the middle, where you go back to the slight variation, at the end of the first page. You play this extraordinary! really good!! Im very inspired :) xo
@idlyen So sorry for the delayed reply......This is NOT the urtext. I do not know what edition it is! I will find out, and let you know. Thanks so much for your comment.
this was beautifully played but i agree a bit slower it takes me back to master classes my instructor had such feeling and this one was one of his bests
Glad I could be of help! It's a lot of fun to play......sorry I didn't reply earlier, how is the piece coming along? Good luck........post when you finish, I would like to hear!
Hello! Good luck to you! It's GREAT piece, and a lot of fun.......I like that it can be played several different ways and never the same way twice! It flows with whatever the heart is feeling at the moment!
Actually, no, this is not Utah University. It is Rice University......in Texas.
I like it that you're playing it sometimes fast and sometimes more slowly. That makes the whole piece more emotional. The way I played it was a bit boring compare to yours. Maybe I try your style next time:-)
i have no idea about grades, but can i learn this if i can play turkish march (rondo alla turca), fur elise, ballade pour adeline and moonlight sonata 1st mvt.??
@dprodani Most definitely! I can play the last 3 on your list, but haven't tried the turkish march! SO, you're one ahead of me on that list!! Give this Venetian Boat Song a try. It's a beautiful piece and can be play so many different ways! It's a lot of fun to play as well.....you learn many different technical skills that will help you learn future pieces. Good luck to you, let me know if I can help.
@iffyiffy123 Same here. As soon as I heard it I was like "I HAVE to do this one!" It's so much fun. It's interesting how everyone plays it differently but it still sounds completely amazing.
A few days ago I recommended you this piece, I hadn't notice then that you also played it. It's a great song and your did an excellent job. Beautiful performance!
Very nice playing! What you have written in the video description is touching and very true. I defend these idea about music since year. I am a musician myself and I teach as well (children to adult) and share the same passion : the language of music. I hope you still continue piano...
Great job! I have always loved this song. It sounded like a perfect performance to me as far as hitting all the notes goes, but what makes it really great is how your still moved by the music you have been learning. I think too much time and repetition can take that quality away from more experienced players. Don't lose it!
I have been playing the piano since I was five and was in the music school at the University of Miami for Music Engineering and had to a few semesters of classical piano and my instructor selected this song. I'm 50 now and still play it very often. . .it was one of my absolute favorites. You did a great job and have real talent. It's even better how much passion you have . . .nicely done!
i really like it ive been piano for 5 years so far and im only 12! you play very beautifully i just finished learning beauty and the beast from the movie you would play it nicely i think you should listen to it
I started piano when I was about 3 years old or so, and didn't take it seriously until now. Looking back on it, if I took piano seriously, I'd be a lot further than I am now. But at least I'm glad I started taking it seriously, and this is a piece I just started learning to play.
In my opinion, there was a little too much fluctuation in the tempo. But you played with a lot of feeling and I liked it. This is one of my favorite songs to play. =)
im with you on that i started 5 years ago i cant imagine my life without music ...and my piano my dream of making music is happening even if it is a bit late.... lol im gonna play this at my jury's for school who knew i would love it enough to make it my major ....keep up the good work sounds good so far... no that when you perform know 100% your going to mess up you must practice enough till you hear it in your dreams lol

Nicely done! However, here some constructive criticism. When you take the fortes, you should take it in a more lyrical style. When you take fortes, the sound is sharp and kinda irritates myeardrums.

Ah, finally someone who understands the true meaning of music.
Music isnt just sound, it's a tutor, a guide
a music can tell alot about a person.
And the way you play the piano is just perfect. I can see that you love playing and that's just great! I started playing that piece today and you inpired me!
Very beautifully done. I am also amazed that you started just four years ago. No doubt you have had more than four years of experience with music, and of love for music :) I hope you continue to play. I love piano, too.

there are clear dynamic markings that show crescendos and decrescendos, so you know....doing them usually is the right thing to do....

you are right about the crescendos but i am saying shes is making them to loud.

that's fair to say then, i prefer the dramatic contrast

Ah, finally someone who understands the true meaning of music.
Music isnt just sound, it's a tutor, a guide
a music can tell alot about a person.
And the way you play the piano is just perfect. I can see that you love playing and that's just great! I started playing that piece today and you inpired me!
Thank you!

Very beautifully done. I am also amazed that you started just four years ago. No doubt you have had more than four years of experience with music, and of love for music :) I hope you continue to play. I love piano, too.
