  • @TheHumbleCat yes

  • It's a Fucking shame everything today is just done by computers and technology. Whatever happened to good old paper and pencil, sitting down on a desk and creating with your mind and not on a computer screen?

  • @13Gangland

...what's the difference? in the end it's still creating

  • BUEN VIDEO PARA ENTENDER LA VIDA DE UN VAGABUNDO

  • so racist

  • @TmanJmanAdventures Robert Crumb's comix have never been what you'd call PC, and this is a commentary on how urban life was in a particular era the late 1960s & the early 1970s, and besides Duke is a beautiful character.

  • what in the fuck!?!!

  • Who's here because of Cracked?

  • @DenverCholoX3

Which article brought you here, if you don't mind my asking?

  • Why the hell is this rated X?

It's not that bad, even when the girl flashes and smokes.

    R maybe, but X?

  • @FaithGalvan Read a synopsis, YouTube has removed the worst parts lol

  • @FaithGalvan X was over 16's only, so its not really that bad

  • 5:21 Duke's expression is saying this: "Give the cat a REAL drink!"

  • watching this is fuckin Awesome when your Blown! or Crossfaded!!!! xD ahhh

  • why was there so much sex and so many orgies in this movie

  • i am so glad they didnt make the black folks look like monkeys!! lol

  • i gots the coolness....

  • Hahaha denhär är sannerlign ett mästrverk :-)

  • aww Parts 1 - 3 are gone nooo :(

  • Duke was the only character in this whole thing that was worth a damn. Everyone else is a worthless POS. A very accurate depiction of people who were "down" in the 60's and 70's from my experience.

  • wow this movie is soooo fucked up lol

  • @zeldagirly22 True that. I watched it on Netflix and I thought "This is the most weird movie that I've ever seen!"

  • This i great animation for 1972 well its no Disney nimation but this could come right after and what this guy did with fire and Ice in the 1980s is ASTOUNDING So real and yet its animated

  • this is fuckin stupid

  • Funniest part was where that radio broadcaster mentioned that Israel could have more arms, on the condition that L.A and New York be given back to the United States

  • hey guys,i overheard on wikipedia that if you look up "hentai" it will say that fritz the cat was the first pornographic cartoon

  • @thekillerdagger Fun fact: That's actually how i got here!

  • @thekillerdagger Yeah I just looked it up.

  • @thekillerdagger damn straight

  • @thekillerdagger It was. That's where Japan got the idea of pornographic anime.

  • "Oh great! Hey boy--hey boy, can I have a drink?" :)

  • man for being 40 years old this cartoon is looks great and I want to watch this whole movie.

  • @TheShootTruth10 Yeah me too ;)

  • 2:09 - "One of dose mothefuckers"

And my mother thought this was a kids movies...

  • @TheRamosOnline My mom did too! This and Felidae (another R rated animated film about cats.) she rented them both of them for me and when I watched them all I could do was stare at the screen like 0_0 and then re-watch them over and over with all my friends. LOL!

  • lmfao @ the end. :)

  • Fuckin Youtube.. Took down parts 2 and 3. -_-

  • All I wanna know is, where is the rest of the fuckin movie? It jumps from part 1 to part 4. Why? Is youtube so full of fuckin prudes that they took away the parts they didn't like? Censorship is wrong, period. Censorship is one of the red flags of fascist totalitarianism. Fritz the cat should be seen by the high school kids of today, to educate them, not kept from public view by the fascist regime. This is real cartoon art, not bullshit like what passes for cartoons today.

  • Lolz.

I'd have taken the damn shot like a fucken man and asked for another until the damn bartender's mouth went dry.

  • police now are called "pigs" because of this movie

  • @ZeptoYT i don't think it was BECAUSE of this movie. Pretty sure theyre pigs in the movie because of the popular term in the time.

  • @ZeptoYT:..well... They have always been called pigs, due to the over-bearing nature of some certain public SERVANTS who are too stupid to fully understand the meaning of the word 'servant', who get off on throwing their weight around, who hide behind a badge so they can abuse innocent civilians, who consider themselves to be above the laws that they are paid to enforce. (Google nazi stormtroopers) The by-product of fascism masquerading as "representative democracy". Wake up! Educate yourselves!

  • @ZeptoYT The Revolution has COME! Pop the Pigs With YOUR GUN!! No MORE PIGS IN OUR COMMUNITY! Pop THE PIGS! - Huey P. Newton, Chairman of the Black Panther Party for self-defense

  • @ZeptoYT seriously....i dont know about that. the slang might not have been given from this, but maybe.

  • @ZeptoYT no, they actually used that term back then for cops.

  • It's easy to say that CGI animation sucks. But such comments are simply ignorant. It doesn't matter what medium the story is delivered in. If the animators have passion, the result is amazing. Whether it's Pixar's Up or Fritz the Cat. A lot of hard work was put into these films and should be appriciated.

  • i don't get censorship. Just an attempt to hide reality. I can only imagine a film industry without censorship, we'd get quality films like Fritz and who knows what else!

  • @firestrings272 Right on man

  • Coolest fucking crows ever.

  • Back in the day when cartoon characters said "Muthafucka" haha

  • this movies kicks the hell out of any shit they show now!

  • Eh isso ai

  • I remember I had a Tee-shirt for this movie! Gosh this was in the 70's! Wow man.

  • when i first saw this movie at age ten...i was thinking "what the hell?"

  • @browngal1709 lol i was thinking the same thing at that age! i had no idea what was going on xD

  • They should do another film based in the Fritz universe, but taking place on the other side of the Iron Curtain.

Seeing as racial tension is a main feature of this film's charm, a film on the Russian chauvinism toward Hungarians and Czechs of the Kruschev-Brezhnev era would be awesome.

  • @darkhyena lol i dont think people could get away with making a film like this in this day n age,. i would like to see a new one tho.

  • Hi Everyone here on youtube is this movie just called fritz the cat or is it called similar to that ?

  • @DaPimp74 the movie is called fritz the cat. theres also nine lives, fritz the cart. part 2 im guessin

  • My principal would have a flipping heart attack from this film. from more things than one;

  • this movies about fritz the cat who is a prevert living in the 60s-70s who pretends to be part of the revoultion to get pussy and along the way goes through daily life of different parts of the 70s

  • @Meese3Cheat That's it in a nutshell, nothing special at all about this film. I can't believe people think this a hallmark of animation, just bad self indulgent 60's stereotypes.

  • @nerfballs2000 You have to understand when it was made. In the 70's when this was made, animation was thought to be only for children. Disney was the only studio making animated feature film at the time. They were aimed at childern. Ralph proved animation could be for adults before Japanse adult animation came along.

  • @rathraven1313

Well, ok there's animation for adults, but does that still mean it's a hallmark of animation? All it means is that animation has a different market. It can't be rightfully called important unless it means something.

The same goes for japanimation. Being violent or riddled with swears doesn't make it any more relevant or better than something that's aimed at everyone. People like Miyazaki could tackle adult issues, but it could still be in a way that all ages were welcome.

  • @SmashBroDx Ralph proved with Wizards, Lord of the Rings, and Fire and Ice. He could do films for all ages. If Ralph had been a live action film director, people would be less harsh with him.

  • @rathraven1313

Yeah, I know. I was stating that Fritz wasn't one of those, or really anything. Ralph's other films were miles above this one. It realy feels like smut for the sake of smut, then covered with a few smart points here and there to try and justify it.

  • @SmashBroDx Guess we'll agree to disagree. Plus everyone had to start somewhere.

  • @SmashBroDx It most certainly means something! Fritz is part of the counterculture revolution, striking back at the mainstream comercial corporate fascist socioty we live in. If people believe all the daily bullshit that spews forth from their tv, then they will be delusional robots, easy meat for the overlords to controll. That is why we need Fritz, and other educational materials, to free our minds from the matrix. If you choose not to believe me, then just eat the blue pill and be a happy cow

  • @CrazyBear65 what does fritz end up deciding about the counterculture revolution? "you're full of shit; all you care about is a reason to hurt, to destroy, to blow up... you don't know what a real revolution is. none of you sons of bitches do." fritz WAS easy meat for the overlords to control, because he didn't see that the revolution was more fascist than what they were revolting against. that's the only way he's educational; otherwise he's about as educational as holden caulfield.

  • @CrazyBear65 to quote camper van beethoven: "there are good guys and there are bad guys... / then there are folks like you and me / so just get high while the radio's on." i think that's what fritz ends up deciding.

  • Wow, you really don't understand much about the sixties and seventies, do you?

  • plz dont be immature, just because this movie gives your gut a sick twisted feeling, you dont have to take it out in a heated comment having to do with race, that frankly i dont get

  • Where is parts 1 through 3 of 8????

  • destroyed and removed because youtube is a faggot

  • I'm here to hear the voice acting of Skip Hennant, one of the great actors from _The Electric Company_, who plays Fritz. Yep, that's him all right. Sounding normal, too! And I get uptight sometimes about the same thing!

  • This is the world you see on LSD.

  • so sad you and most people always go to the drug thing about this movie. it's parody on the 1960's! listen to the dialogue and pay attention to the characters. it's a"Crow Bar". get the joke?

  • Oh yeah, I get it -- but if you've ever experienced lysergic acid you'll know what I'm talking about -- that groovy lysergic feel is what this video is all about.

  • How many dosages did YOU take? For "Fritz the Cat", you usually need a couple 20 dosages.

  • my mom's entertainment lawyer boyfriend has a vha of this in the mid 80's and I caught on to it at about the same time I started blowing pot, Watched w/ my good friend on first tues smoke hair sessions than bi, and then tri -weekly. Took i to college and all my fraternity brothers caught onto it. Watched it numerous times each year for the last 20 years. Love all the catch phrases, and the animation is so moody and ahead of its time.

  • but i couldn't eat coz while whitey was eating ' ham sandwiches, I was eating peanut butter

  • Question: Which pig cop does Bakshi play? Is it the funny-voiced Jewish one, or the rookie cop named Ralph?

  • nothing at all. i was just curious.

  • man what the fuck part 2 and 3 are gone dammit all to fucking hell and back

  • @GeneralRazor I wholeheartedly agree! That is a perfect example of fascist censorship. & That's youtube for you!

  • don't lose your coolness

  • damn youtube

I mean, whats tha fuckin problem, it's just cartoons anyway!

  • lol those crows were for real about to st8 kill each other

  • if there's one hustler that didn't diserve to die, its Duke.

  • The Police in all it's glory. Gotta love the end of this part. XD

  • Anyone else want to see Fritz the Cat reviewed by the Nostalgia Critic? I think all the animated animal sex would drive him insane.

  • @mowub I would love to see Nostalgia Critic review this movie

  • @mowub

    Insane....er

  • @mowub He likes this movie.

  • @Zyxxs Where? Did he mention it recently?

  • @mowub i dont think so seeing as its a great movie

  • My dads nickname by his highschool friends was Fritz. He still has no clue why they called him that

  • I kinda get the "bug out" part. It DOES mean to get high. But he said it as if he was going to dance or something.

  • Robert Crumb = Genuis!

  • Where's pt. 2?

  • They wouldn't allow the first 3 parts. I don't know why. Youtube is weird that way.

  • Damn. Fags.

  • Group sex in a bathtub = No Youtube for you!

'Cuz as you might know there was some of that in the first three parts.

  • Ok, thanks. I never saw this movie before, so I have no idea what the other parts have, but ur description about the group sex, well, that sounds very interesting, LoL Right now I'm trying to catch up on all Bakshi's work here on Ytube, coolest animation director ever

  • @RandomUsername010 censorship, corporate fascism. same as the wmg bullshit. fight back, tell them all to go get fucked.

  • GRRRR! Now I know why there's no part 1, 2, or 3. They took it down. DAMN YOU COPYRIGHT LAWYERS OR MAYBE VIACOM! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!! o__O

  • I like how in the majority of conversations (except the ones with the pigs) seem so natural (mumbles, urms, ahs etc.)

  • Damn, They show dicks and everything!

  • don't cats eat birds, lol

  • Technically yes. But I also see real life videos of cats actually REALLY being friends with birds no matter if they're their prey or not. It's no joke either! ^_~

  • my dad looks on this film fondly. i guess it comes from his dope days during the 70s

  • 2:48 was actually the first time I heard them speak english.

  • wait what?

  • hahahaaaaaaa, i get itttt. its the language of africa right?

  • Pigs for cops... not suprising!

  • 7:17

    purple hat

  • Sounds like they recorded ppl just tlking..

  • he (Bakshi) did record some of the conversations right off the street. Probably helped cut cost of hiring voice actors and to help add authenticity to the conversations.

  • is part 2 and 3 coming????

  • it was flagged to my knowlage....

  • The first three parts got deleted, so here's a recap: Fritz has a bathtub orgy/pot session, the pig cops chase him and lose him in a synagogue. Fritz gets fed up with studying and decides to "live every day as though it was my last." A musical interlude of Bo Diddley leads into this.

  • he did the same thing as in making pigs cops

  • I noticed that black people were a whole different kind of animal in this film (the black crow). Instead of making some other animals black, he picked out ONE kind/race of animal. I think that's interesting :)

  • i thought exactly the same thing. the crow as a bird is one of the most vicious and ugly lookin creatures on gods earth. id love to read the makers comments to understand this movie more.

  • If crows are the ugliest and mot vicious animals you can think of, you probably haven't been around too many animals.

  • there are more vicious animals i agree but crows feature in cities. apart from rats i dont see what other vicious animals are in the city.

  • The most vicious and ugly lookin creatures of god's earth? You must be thinking of humans.

  • @JinEfreet

No, he's actually thinking of you.

  • The reason they're all crows is a nod to the Jim Crowe laws that segregated blacks up until the mid sixties which is when this movie is set. Why they'd choose the cat to represent a white man I'm not entirely sure, however...

  • Could it be that cats usually kill crows? My cats bring us birds they've killed every now and then...

  • lol crow bar!

  • olo

  • so cool dude

  • dude this movie's just weird

  • man this is a bit like dumbo black people as crows lol

  • That Crow is a suck shot at billiards.

  • Don't get fooled by the two pigs portrayed as cops. They look rated G, but the movie is rated X. Then later, you'll see a drawing of a shadow of Mickey Mouse. By all accounts, the movie was made exclusively for adults.

  • Maaaan, that scene up there where Fritz is talking to Duke playing pool-- Bakshi loves to use these bizarre metaphors for life and what have you in his movies, like Heavy Traffic with the pinball machine? Y'think when Fritz accidentally sunk all the balls that was Bakshi's way of saying a white guy can make it without even trying? Not to say I'm making some racist swipe or anything for those who'll take the inflection in a bad way, but, Bakshi does play on race very prominently in his films. xD

  • Hey, I think you made a really good point. I never thought of Duke's game at pool as a metaphor until now. Sweet observation dude. Hardly a racial swipe at all. :)

  • yea that IS weird the cat (white guy) did what the black guy ( crow) was tryin soooo hard 2 do and he didnt even try!!

  • happy birthday ralph bakshi

  • Did they see an elephant fly too?

  • ever since i found out felix dennis had a statue of robert crumb on his estate i've not enjoyed this so much.

  • who created this,l like it!

  • Robert Crumb did the comic books, Ralph Bakshi the movie

  • after which Robert Crumb killed him off

  • For anyone interested and looking for the parts that YouTube mods deleted, the movie is also on Dailymotion.

  • Youtube has mods, huh? No wonder so much good shit gets taken down. Fucking pussies.

  • my dad saw this the day on the first day. waited in line was blocks and blocks.

  • Can somebody please tell me what the hell is going on ?!!!!

  • my parents did hahha ^^ mistake watching as a child opss

  • ummm because i geuss if its a animal cartoon and they want to represent black people they did it like all the other old animations...

  • the black people look like crows because it's simply how Crumb Depicted them in the underground comic and it's symbolic of the Jim Crow laws.

  • i didnt understand the "bug out" part

  • get high

  • Lol... Crow bar.. x3

  • i got this on vhs no nine lives and other on dvd
