this brings back memories. along with 3 other northern lads we stalked beltane fire around the UK during that Harp beat Marillion tour in early 86. Clint, Mitch, Stef and carlo even got us back stage at Hammy O and we later came to

the Marquee for one of the best gigs in my life ! If there is a reunion the 4 northern lads will reform and come and support !

@clintbradley I saw the Blue Cats perform Wild Night on Irish TV back in 1981 and was mighty impressed, so much so that I can still picture it in my mind and here 30 years later, I get a reply to my comment, from Clint Bradley himself. What an age we live in !

By the way, I was always into rockabilly in a big way but I loved other music as well. The change in direction of Beltane Fire was admirable and I like the songs alot especially Captain Blood and Fortune Favours the Brave.

Beltane Fire blew me away when they suported Gary Glitter mid 80's at Manchester Apollo. The fact that they used a slap bass as a rock band was quite unique at the time.

Different Breed is one of the best albums in my vast and varied collection. It's still in mint condition after 25 years.

"Fortune Favours the Brave" is one of the most rousing songs I know. How the hell it didn't chart in a big way I'll never know. In fact that goes for all of the Beltane songs.

Please reunite boys.

Don't have mp3 players but the album is avaialble on spotify for which I am grateful - well remember a Hammersmith gig with Fish and the boys - which introduced me to Beltane Fire a brilliant album would love for it to be released on cd!!

All the tracks have been digitally re-mastered by SONY and sound really good. You can download them from all the usual places, itunes etc. We will post any news of a physical CD release as soon as we know. There is a label in the US who have expressed an interest in doing a CD.

I have just been told by SONY that they are going to do a digital release of DIFFERENT BREED and the B sides on the 20th July, so at least it will be available for download. They are not going to do a physical CD release but there are other labels who want to, though liscencing agreements will need to be set up first. I will announce any developments on that front as soon as I know.

I really do hope that a proper CD will be available, with band infos, song lyrics, some pictures etc.

And I do prefer a CD, as I have a "real thing" in my hands, and not just only an mp3-download on my PC.

Furthermore in general the sound quality of well mastered CDs is much better than mp3-downloads...!

And this is important to me, even if a CD will cost more than a download.

Hi Clint, the news of an official release is great, especially if the B-sides are to be included, but I have a question; there are 4 songs you played live that weren't available on vinyl and these were: 'Taste Our Fire', 'Tree Will Bend', 'Men Of The Shire' and 'Badon Blood', all great songs, is there any possibility of a live recording being made available with these on? 'Badon Blood' was a stunning song live, as were the others of course and I'd love to know if any tapes (or videos) exist.

Easily one of the best live acts of the 80s, saw them several times, their set included a couple of outstanding tracks which never made the LP. Does anyone out there have any live recordings of them on tape, CD or better still, DVD? I've got one show on cassette; Birmingham '85 when they supported Marillion. Would love to hear more...

I loved Different Breed. Saw Beltane Fire at a Cambridge May Ball - we all thought you were so much better than the supposed headline act. Bought the album as soon as it came out, but my copy was damaged years ago and I only have a very bad tape recording off it. A CD release, please, please.
