  • Very happy music

  • happy music

  • I grew up with this music

  • Still gives me HAPPY FEET

  • Amazing!!!!!

  • my teacher ms.fugate she told the whole class hear this song we started to like it we sang it whith out the lyrics

  • celtic thunder has an awsome version thats hard 2 compete w/ but this just might win against it

  • Thumbs up if you think Irish men are so sexy

  • @TheArtisticGirl1 I'm a straight male and thinks this is true.

  • @morrwen id dance to it all night long

  • I know what I'm having played at my wedding reception!. :D

  • kiss to all of you muaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • THIS IS A SCOTTISH FOLK SONG AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IRELAND WHATSOEVER. rant over...however I think these Irish lads sing it very well.

  • We do the Carolina Promenade to this song. It's quite fun!

  • 15 People didn´t get to Marie´s Wedding.

  • No, I melt everytime I hear/see them too. The Irishness, definitely.

  • Am I the only woman melting at the Irishness????

  • 15 people were not invited to maries wedding

  • I LOVE THE HIGH KINGS I WISH THEY HAD MORE CDS AND I ESPECIALLY LOVE THIS SONG.

  • is it allowed to literally be in love with music?

  • omg what a great song and ty 4 posting ;) , but this song hits real hard :( as my granny and sister where both called marie :) and listening 2 this , well it brings back memories ;) ofc very pleasant 1s :) all i can add is rip my 2 maries :) 1day we will b as 1 :)

  • the irish music has more soul and spirit and any other music type out there

  • the Irish are fucking awesome

  • absolutely love this Group !

  • Great!

  • Lol loving the high kings vs the dubliners argument. imo they are both good and I would rather listen to my least favorite song out of the 2 bands than listen to the most popular justin beaber song

  • @spamman12123

    I hate that argument...

I simply love the Dubliners and their voices and warmth.

And I just love how The High Kings are putting some modernism into the old music.

    Simple...

  • I love to play this extremely loud.

  • why do the Irish traditional song sound so epic

  • I just realized something: these guys have an advantage with thier fanbase. And I think it has to do with the age difference between these guys. The 2 younger guys can help bring in alot of the younger audiences, and the 2 older can bring in the older people, also because of the songs they do to. Fun and traditional. :p

  • not invited to marie's wedding :( still like this song :D

  • The question I have, is how everyone in the world doesnt apreciate irish music. I sure do, lately Ive been singing irish songs rather than american. Irish music is fantastic. Soldier Irish songs, wedding songs, anything of Irish I listen to.

  • @Mr19thIndiana I think this is a Scottish song

  • @bobmarlzey we can all agree and say that "celtic" music is amazing :)

  • @Mr19thIndiana Yeah I've been doing to same thing to for the past month

  • John Martyns take on this " the message"

  • That violin solo is eargasmic !

  • Truly dreadful. A good traditional song bastardised by some modern day version of the Clancy Brothers. Try the Luke Kelly and the Dubliners.

  • @thecaspiansea yep tis ruined

  • @thecaspiansea the dubliners are complete and utter rubbish

  • @hippokrates23 im guessing ur joking a chara

  • How can you not like this? It rocks!

  • You can get their CD's at Amazon.com. Also, most can be dowloaded from iTunes. And you can get them on the High Kings' website.

  • I love this song so much im going to have it played at my wedding along with "Fields of glory", "Paddy's green shamrock shore", "Whisky in the jar", "Rocky road to dublin", and "the black velvet band" these are my favorite songs.

I'm Amarican but my family says im part irish because of how much i love these songs.

    Go High Kings!!!!

  • This song has brought a smile to my face. LOVE IT!

  • I am now a fan after the wife persuaded me to go with her to a concert. She has a thing for Darren, so I also had that to look forward to. But.....they were great, and he was exceptional, on and offstage. I now have their cd's in my truck and there they will stay.

  • @gerfinnerty can you at some point tell me 2 things?

1: Do you live in the U.S.A.?

2: If so, where did you get them? I've looked everywhere and i cant find them anywhere

  • The thing that i love about this song and this video, as (well, two things) the fun that the singers and band have with the song. They are all looking at each other and smiling. The other thing is the crowd knows and enjoys the song. I've been to concerts where the crowd wond sing along, or acts like they dont know the song at all, and it's kind of boring.

  • us english have morris dancing music, its got nothing on irish music!

  • They can sing "Step we gaily, on we go" and still look tough. Awesome, only the Irish!

  • @bjshear only one problem with your theory boss, this is an old scottish song.

  • @fisherman06100

The song was written by a Scottish guy, but i am pretty sure THESE guys are Irish. Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Martin Furey, and Darren Holden are ALL Irish and they sound very good singing it!

  • @bjshear Yes im well aware that THESE guys are ALL irish ( hope i got the capitilization right there), and they sing this song very well. im not disagreeing with that, but you said these guys look tough and only the irish can do that. well thats what i disagree with.put a bunch of irish guys, all dressed the same, singing a pop version of an old SCOTTISH reel, thats not even a little bit tough there buddy. actually kinda gay

  • @fisherman06100 chill out! I meant no offense, my comment was only meant to show my enthusiasm for this music and this group. I think you need a pint, if I were with you, i'd be on me. cheers mate.

  • @bjshear Sorry mate i must have read it out of context... but where i live now when someone put something in caps it is a sign of yelling or makin a very strong point, and i have taken enough guff from people this week. No hard feelings but i would definetly take you up on a pint right about now!!!!!!!!

  • @bjshear actually your very wrong this is a Scottish folk song. Get it right next time

  • @grumpyoldteabag Don't be dense. I never said it was an Irish song. I know the song is Scottish, but these guys singing it ARE IRISH! My comment still applies, the Irish sing this song well! So for all you who say it has nothing to do with Ireland you are wrong, the singers are Irish.

  • @bjshear Your just jealous that the Scottish music is so much better than Irish music.

  • @grumpyoldteabag LOL, i love Scottish music, and I love Irish music, stop being a grumpy old man and just enjoy the music!

  • @bjshear fine, if you insist

  • i loved the song even though i rarely listen to this type but i like it

  • at first I´M SORRY MY GRAMMA ISN´T THE BEST :-)

Know anyone if the comew to germany for concerts ?

  • @The81nurse 06 August 2011 they will play in Germany :-) in something called "Balve Höhle" i don't know what that is though i'm Danish.

    Have fun!

  • BOYBAND

  • Who is the youngest singer?

  • YES! I had looked for this song for so long, and now I've found it completely by accident (I first started listening to The High Kings because of Whiskey In The Jar and Rocky Road to Dublin) My life is pretty much complete now...

  • i wish i were irish, i'd have a blast every time i turned on the radio.

  • @MrArratoon You social magpies he says... yeah us scots do sing our own bloody songs you prick....as i was born in greenock i suppose i would say we do... Your an ass

  • @anserex While 865 are ;D

  • modern twist on an old traditional song...i had this at my wedding (my hubby is scottish)...lovely song!!!

  • After I had made my friend (called Mary) listen to this song, she asked me to find someones who could sing it at her wedding :)

  • I love folk music "real folk music" but this is just corny °.^

  • @MegaBanne how is this corny this is one of the best irish folk songs you could ever hear... i remember this from a Tommy Scott tape she had when i was a kid

  • @fisherman06100 I know this is one of the best irish folk songs ever. I just dont dig the interpretation of this song which is corny.

  • @MegaBanne i can understand that, not every interpretation of every song is for everyone. thanks for not bein a complete dick like MrArratoon because i disagreed with something you said.

  • @fisherman06100 I am glad that you understands the message i whanted to tell so good. I was afraid that you may have been a dick to. =]

  • look good, sing good the proof irish folk is the best!!!

  • @mysteryrecord

It's actually a Scottish song called Mairi's Wedding, not an Irish one with a lass called Mary/Mairie :P

  • @Cockwallet who cares irish scottish both the best

  • @mysteryrecord the scottish are the best actually.

  • nice one boys. I put up my Grandad, Andy mckellas,as a response. Not in your rlague, but he tries

  • I wish they could come to Serbia, like Orthodox Celts went to England and Ireland... :)))

  • Man Finbarr looks and sounds so much like Bobby Clancy

  • Just been to see these guys in letterkenny just class if there in a town near you go see them a great night out

  • @anserex Make it 8.

  • I have officially destroyed the replay button. These guys rock!

  • If these guys actually sang withthe celtic woman at some point.... Itd be a crushing hit Im sure!!

  • @anserex LOL

  • It gave me happy feet . Beautiful voices . thank you very much Brendan =)

  • @MsJennabooh happy feet!

  • Brian Dunphy is so cute. :P

  • I'm #777 to "like" this amazing Irish song...That's GOT to be lucky right??!?

  • I went to a barn dance two years ago and we danced to this song. Alot of memories!

  • I hope they`ll go on an european tour. With a Concert in Germany...

  • 7 dislikes? then i need 7 bullets LOL:)

  • @skullthepower13 line em up and use a high caliber and save some time

  • Super

  • They do this the only way it should be done

  • Saw them live in Killarney summer 2010, great show!

  • This is the first song that got me to listen to Celtic Music. So glad I did.

  • why does this song go right to my heart every time?

  • @anserex i love this vid but i also respect the right of others to disagree :)

  • i'm all for Finbarr Clancy his father and uncles have to be proud of him r.i.p clany brothers

  • Thumbs up if you are rly impressed with this video.

    Congratulations for your talent !

  • My sister had this song at her wedding; everyone joined in. These guys are so great!

  • Again this sounds pretty good as long as you dont watch them cavorting around the stage like eejits

  • Mhairi's wedding.........it's what I'm named after don't Anglicise the spelling! It's pretty much the only song that contains the name!

  • love the song, but it is Scotish, rowans gives it away

  • Actually, you can get their first cd from amazon.com. You can also download the songs in mp3 format for a bit cheaper.

  • I am nuts for Darren. He has such a cute smile.

  • I can't get an album anywhere it's not like they have it at Wal-Mart. and everyones gonna say, "get it off iTunes" but not everyone has a fucking Ipod.

  • @fangsandpeaches Actually, if you have a computer with a CD/DVD player, it shouldn't be a problem. You can buy the song from iTunes (or wherever) and simply copy it onto a CD. You might have to download an iTunes player, though...sorry, that's all I can help :)

  • @TypeANegative chances are that itunes player will either cost more money than its worth or will mess with my computer. in addition I absolutely despise itunes. the songs cost more than I can afford.

  • @fangsandpeaches I had the same problem as you (where itunes messed up my computer and I had to take it back off in order for my CD drive to work again), but you can get their album off amazon.com using Amazon mp3. I've used it on my computer for several albums and haven't had any problems so far. I don't have an ipod either. ;-) Hope this helps!

  • I only heard of these guys recently & cant get enough of their music. they seem to really enjoy what they do and it really shows through their music!!!!!

  • Not for Marie but for Mandy's!

  • they remind me of Cadence who are a acapella group, but they also do quite a bit of scat singing

  • Love these guys... <3 So happy and excited to see them again this year! High Kings forever!!!!!!!!!*

  • They just have so much fun with it! And I agree with you, fidelmaines.

  • Imma have this played at my wedding.

  • The day this music dies, there will be no more joy in the world!

  • i fukin love the high kings they are fuking class!!

  • I think it's great how technically proficient these guys are too! great harmonies too!

  • wow

  • boys were very beautiful and harmonious voices ... congratulations

  • 2:07 he has soooo a beautiful yoice!!! wow

two minutes ago I had bought the CD from the band :) wow

  • Absolutely and positively adore Darren. Its in the smile and that cheeky twinkle in his eyes.

  • 2:42 lol at the lady on the upper far left

  • erin go bragh chimar a the siph sorry my irish breatheren that is all the gaelic i know im trying to learn it but i dont have a teacher

  • it's snowing this december morning in my corner of the U.S., but this song makes me smile all over!

I really cannot wait to hear what songs they will have on their next CD! These guys are the best!

  • Brian... omigoodness :)

  • the most manly band ever. i disliked Celtic thunders, they look so polishing and seem to lean to pop so much. 10000000000 out of 5 stars

  • @Tangerine258 yea I agree the only songs I like of Celtic thunder are the few traditional irish songs they sing, they should stick to thier irish roots. The High Kings are SO much better.

  • @Tangerine258 Most Manly? Listen to the Dubliners, man.

  • @CrawdaddyJoe Well, I think the Dubliners are elderly rather than manly. Their voices r awesome but... they r elderly!!!

  • i can not wait 2 the 10th of dec it is my b-day and i am going 2 see the high kings i am there number 1 fan

  • bhjn

  • I love this song it sounds so nice i sing this at my school and it sounds so amazing! this song will be stuck in my head for aloung time!

  • Darren sounds amazing here. My sis in law loved him in london on Monday.

  • 6 people must be have no ears~

  • to get through a days work.. I need a dose of these guys to make me forget the stress............. can't wait to move to Ireland soon.

  • @Lorrie1955 your moving to Ireland?

  • wow, this is really neat! the harmonies are perfect, and they are all having a GREAT time! i am jammin out to this song right now, it's awesome.

  • We're doing this one also for show choir. If I ever get a video of it I'll post it.

  • cool =)

  • macca on the fronty hes a well fine singer ial tell ye, paul macca can sing and sing, yeohhhhhhhhhhh

  • This is so wonderful! You can tell how happy they are just to be there. You can see just how much they're enjoying themselves, and they're still just people. I love it!

  • There is one who looks like Andy Roddick so much oO

  • I am not familiar with their names yet as I just got turned on to them only last week. But the guy on extreme left is the reason I am following up on them. Handsome as f*@k

  • love these guys

  • ok who is who

  • @btand05 at the beginning on the far left is Darren Holden, then Martin Furey, then Finbarr Clancy, and Brain Dunphy on the far right.

  • Ok, mate, love the Irish but its a Scottish song!

  • i kept replaying the man in white at 1.37, you don't see old people enjoying music that's made by younger people that often. he carries the irish soul with him.

  • @Rockbillert that's what I loved about visiting Ireland; they mix the generations together much more freely than the British, makes for a much richer experience I found.

  • This band is amazing!

  • This is a really cool song but it foes sound as if was being lip-synched. But I still enjoyed the performance!!!!!!!

  • amazing song...

better than those news hits of nowadays...

  • @Sinxoll I couldn't agree more!

  • @Sinxoll

yeh its way better than any modern hits

  • The only problem with this performance is that it's note-for-note perfect with the album recording. Making it a lip-synch.

  • Darrens me favorite. He gave me a smile in Ballinhassing the ohter night!

  • Only Irish music can make you feel like this

  • Its actually titled as Mairis wedding not mary as it was written in Gaelic, not english originally, sometimes reffered to as the Lewis bridal song.

  • Darrens the man. Love these guys. The future of folk music in Ireland. Nobody touches them. a new balladeer for a new generation in Holden.

  • Great Stuff !!! thx

  • Darren is soooooooooooo cute here.

  • Sheeoot these guys are so amazing. I just love them and I could listen to them forever. Oh, wait, I do. Dang, I wish my name was Marie. :|

  • great brings back memories

  • Loved this. Shame that Mahri has been spelled the English way :-(

  • @lwcigirl lol so many ways of spelling one name lol. but i think the english way is mary, although my sister would kill anyone who doesnt spell it mairi (which is the scots gaelic spelling, in scots gaelic its only spelled mhairi or mhari if u are adresing the person) lol each to his own tho i suppose

  • @SteamboatJimmy My name is Mahri. My grandad was born on Skye and only spoke Gaelic 'till he went to school where he learned English. he used to called my Grandma (who's name was Mary) Mahri when he wrote to her, they were courting during the war, hence my name. When it's spelled Mhairi it's pronounced Vari, mh together in gaelic make the v sound. But yeah, lots of differant ways of spelling it :-)
