PLAY MECH WARRIOR 3, the graphics are much better, no matter how it looks like on youtube. The mechanics of the game all together is much better on MW3 !!!

My twin brother and I use to play Mechwarrior 4 all the time. In capture the flag he always used a raven, and I went with a cougar. We were really good at getting the flag, I'd usually distract the enemy team and die, while he grabbed the flag and capped. But he died 2 years ago, and this reminded me of him and the good times we had playing it. If I could turn back time and play this with him, even just once, I would... :(
i remember playing this feeling like a proper pilot in a mech, near the end of a mission clutching at straws to try and kill other mechs, looking at my weapons waiting to recharge, looking at my armour hoping not to get hit.
Mechwarrior was incredible... there seriously needs to be an updated version with the same style of gameplay... It was incredibly intense and skillful, unlike nearly every other game out there today

Oh yeah BTW what are your fav mechs? Light: Puma Medium: Bushwhacker (I remember it could beat up pretty much any Heavy) Heavy: Mad Cat Assault: Atlas
@TheDailyChatter I liked the Uziel med mech, light, fast, decent armor, jumpjets & 2 ERPPCs. Untill you got the big money to buy things like the knight or superheavys it was one of the only light to med mechs that could take on the heavys in a pitched battle. I liked the bushwhacker too but i just liked the ERPPCs too much not to have them. thats just IMO though.
@HereticDuo the Puma had dual PPCs but there was no room left for anything else and heat efficiency was shit lol idk that's what i remember.. anyways the Puma and the Bushwhacker had crazy armor.. the Mad Cats were probably the most versatile Mechs' out there.. the Atlas had insane armour but the speed was shit.the Argus was interesting,armor was good as much as I recall,firepower was good too,the only bad thing (and it was a major drawback) was that it had no electronics at all..

mech assult was fun but u dont get to do that much in the game which kind of sux n halo,halo2,halo3,and halo reach is a lot better and you get to have fun in forge world
too bad they discontinued the series in favor of "Mech Assault", which I also have played, but it just wasn't the same.
This one requires some savvy because you have technical things like heat and ammo, and mech assault just felt too arcade for me to be a real mech warrior game.
On a side note I haven't played the original game at all just the mercenairies installments, I like the story better, but that's a personal opinion.

@101111101101 I've been wondering that too. I only ever played MW3 but I freaking loved it. I don't know any games like it today, and I have a feeling MW5 will turn out to be graphically nice but watered-down with regard to gameplay. It's a shame really.
@wazup1ish There's so much going on here that you don't realize. There's a ton of strategy that goes into a piloting a 'Mech. It's not as fast as Call of Duty or Halo because you only have one life; you have to actually have some skill to play this game.
Seriously, why the fuck does everyone choose the Timber Wolf, when you get the same (if not better) performance out of other 'mechs in the same class range.
ANYONE can win in a TimberWolf. Try something challenging.

@Forthias Chromehounds servers got taken down, there's a big argument at who and why. Chromehounds was the shit, it wipes the floor with this and made it sparkle (Not insulting, being serious). You can go in with up to about 6 or 7 people? ( iforget it's like a full squad) and do versus, then do missions to kill all AI enemies. You could make scouts, fast guys, heavy guys, soldiers, make them hover. Graphics were amazing. Just look at the reviews.

@Acexwanderer There is a way to make the mouse aim go to options and then controls i think and there will be a check box for mouse. I use wasd and the mouse too.
Seriously, why does everyone choose to complete missions with heavy 'Mechs? It doesn't really show how good you are, when you can one-hit KO weaker opponents and it is not challenging.
Give me a FireStarter in an on-line mult-game and I'd be able to wipe the floor against any 15 people piloting WarHawks at once against me.
@lammybacon This is just the Solaris arena battles, you can travel to that planet and participate in the taurnaments. The game has a campaign full of missions, you have to gear out all your mechs and your teams mechs and when a team member dies or a mech is destroyed there gone for good. Its still a very good game even now. If the new mechwarrior has gameplay like this or the first mechwarrior game ill be very happy.
You will be able to download Mechwarrior 4 for free pretty soon. It just got approved by microsoft to offer the game up for free download from the mektek website.

Load up with three Clan AC 20s.
Max out ammo/engine

i have the green pepper / ubisoft version. and it does'nt istall properly on xp. Now i have windows 7 and haven't tried it yet. Does anybody know how i can make it work? I also own mech warrior vengeance and the black knights expansion. Same problems. thx

What are the controls like? I'm used to WASD and using the mouse to aim.
I downloaded it but I can't seem to be able to use the mouse to aim.

@Acexwanderer There is a way to make the mouse aim go to options and then controls i think and there will be a check box for mouse. I use wasd and the mouse too.

Seriously, why does everyone choose to complete missions with heavy 'Mechs? It doesn't really show how good you are, when you can one-hit KO weaker opponents and it is not challenging.
Give me a FireStarter in an on-line mult-game and I'd be able to wipe the floor against any 15 people piloting WarHawks at once against me.

@lammybacon This is just the Solaris arena battles, you can travel to that planet and participate in the taurnaments. The game has a campaign full of missions, you have to gear out all your mechs and your teams mechs and when a team member dies or a mech is destroyed there gone for good. Its still a very good game even now. If the new mechwarrior has gameplay like this or the first mechwarrior game ill be very happy.
