The Riley One-Point-Five was driven by Alan Hutcheson and the race was actually at Aintree in 1962. The car that swerved into the Riley was a Sunbeam Rapier driven by Peter Harper!
I have checked and I think it was Peter Taylor (my father) as the film matches photos I have of the incident. Great to see though! My mother was watching it home on live TV!
Super! The rolled car was a Riley one point five. Loosely modelled on the Morris Minor, shared many components with the Morris but had the B series engine, (MGB) with twin SU carbs. Armstrong lever arm front shock absorbers and torsion bar rear suspension. No wonder it fell over!
Great footage!!
