@randOmazing I don't think so, at least not in HD. It's an HDV camcorder, which means it records on MiniDV tapes.

@randOmazing Nope, it's for pictures only, you need a mini DV tape to record, some of the new Canon camcorders (really expensive!!) will let you record without a tape though.

ok thanks but as it comes down the the xha1 and the dvx which do you see as the better cameria. I no the xha1 has more options and more features like hd but i honestly think the quality if the dvx is just as good plus the natural colors on that cameria are great.

I think the zoom on this canon is slow and sucks and it seems like DVX captures motion better but uh.. maybe I just don't know the right shutter.. please anyone msg me

If it's a minidv you will have to use firewire, if it's on a hd or chip you can transfer as files.

XH A1. FX1000 doesn't have XLR, and XH A1 has a lot more color control.

Uhhhhhhh....Compared to some of the 100,000$ Sony CineaAlta Cameras this thing is a piece of cheap crap! In the video industry this thing is worth nothing.  Besides, this camera is only about 3,300$ from B&H...Its not that expensive.

obviously it is possible, it just takes a lot of saving up. I bought mine with my savings from a full time summer job. It was more money than I ever spent in my life, but it defiantly is possible for normal people to buy that camera.  I only make minimum wage.

I'd like to ask what the better choice would be between this and Sony equivalents. My father uses a XM2 and it does great and has great instantanious focusing capabilities but has that infamous head breaking problem that happens once or twice per year. I heard this model also has such problems but not so for the Sonys. However, the Canons are said to be infinitely better in the focusing and image quality area. What would your opinion be?
