Zacattackzak - when they are hatchlings they are not supposed to be in deep water they are now much bigger and at a little over half filled in their 20 gal tank to keep them at a safe distance from their basking area and the basking light. We are already planning for when they are large enough to be combined with our bigger turtles (the new tank w/stand will cost us $600+ at a discount store I found locally)
the small rocks/gravel are just fish tank gravel they will need bigger rocks when they are older so they don't eat them, the big rock formation is actually a feeding dish/ramp we no longer use for our older turtles. This video is older, they have grown double their size now =) and are healthy and happy and in a bigger tank now (20 gal) filled halfway.
lol my red eared sliders are the same size and they didnt eat for almost 1 and a half week. but now they are regular check them out. thanx. and please rate and subscribe.
brief update...our babies are eating pellets and sticks now! yay we are so excited, this age is so crucial and most hatchlings do not make it in captivity, so this is so great! They wouldn't eat anything over the last few days I think mostly due to adjusting to their new environment, but they are hungry now =)
deeper water, basking platform, water heater, love, kindness...list goes on
