6-7500 for a really fast naturally aspirated compact.

Or LS motor+vtec+gsr/type-r trans = 6k + 2500 for turbo kit + cams + 4 oil changes 100 bucks+ exhaust + intake

Your looking at 8-10 grand for something that isnt reliable and proably the same speed.

Should have got a 1000 dollar jdm LS swap and stuck with the lower compression non vtec.

you do not need cams for a turbo gsr. i made one for around 6 grand. and although it may be the same speed as a fully bilt k24. 330whp give or take. The ability to gain more power out of a turbo motor is A LOT cheaper than the high n/a way you seem to take. another 2 grand for over 500whp? ok by me

People have to stop comparing the price! Sometimes it's not just about the power or what you can do with 10k versus what someone bought for 30k. You can mod the engine and springs on a civic but it will not beat the feel of a sports car. The ride is very different. My beater is a 02 spec-V which is sports tuned(kinda) and my summer car a Greddy T78 93 Rx7. Aside from the power difference you cannot compare the two in terms of handling, cornering etc....!
