This movement reminds me of the environmentalist movement of the past. Many good points, many exaggerations. Much to inspire, much lack of ideas. Large basis of support, large basis of ignorance. The failure to realize the working class had as much to do with the housing bubble will be their undoing.
Michael Moore is living in dreamland... Protesting at workers in wall street is a road to nowhere because they are not going to change their ways because a massive crowd is pleading them to change.

There has to be new legislations and regulations directed at the banking system (the big bank elite) relative to loans and derivatives as well as bonuses. Plus a tax system for investment traders (their status is like "betting").
New LAWS & Regulations... this can only come from pressure @ the Gov'

Well, what kind of pressure would you suggest then?
Voting supposed to be the biggest pressure of all but it's been proven the money talks louder.
Anything else you can think of? They'll be glad to take your advice if it's really effective.
They work for wallstreet but unless you change your election/lobbying laws you will never change anything. Do you think the USA is just going to ditch capitalism and go with what? Full out socialism? A bunch of unemployed angry people are going to rewrite the economic foundation of the USA? Cmon guys get realistic goals.
a lot of what this guy was saying was fairly true, even though he presented his point of view in an elite-is and obnoxious manner, the second he critisized warren buffet and said that the government should get rid of the EPA and public schools, he lost all credibility with me.
So much for 1st Amendment rights. I posted a small comment here and it was deleted. I retired from the Air Force after 20 years. I now live on $900 a month and raise my 4 kids on it. We all pitch in where needed to make sure that we have enough to eat every month without food stamps. Have any of you picked up aluminum cans to make ends meet. How about selling scrap iron? I have health insurance with a co-payment and I pay just like anyone else who goes to the Hospital.
Peter Schiff is such an idiot. He uploaded a 20 minute video of him coming up with clever responses to protestors. Little does anyone know he cut out the parts where he contradicted himself or someone put up a better arguement.
Very good post. I'm glad someone is exposing Schiff. He is a shill, and a user, and I'm not sure he even deserves the air time he gets. He perpetuates the very things that are destroying our way of life. He trades on emptiness, and makes nothing EXCEPT money.
When did that behavior constitute a "profession"? It is worse than anything I can think of. I have more respect for prostitutes and drug dealers, at least they provide goods for their livelihood.
capitalism is fine and dandy mr schiff, but disconnect the greedy government pentacles from lubricating the Fed, corporations, etc...and it can work just fine, but this brand of fascist greed needs vital attention...we must create another system
Did I mention that Peter Schiff is (low and behold) the son of Irwin Schiff, tax cheat extraordinaire who has written MANY books on economics, including at least a few telling you how "easy" it is to supposedly get away with tax fraud and/or why the income tax is "illegal" and shit?
Yeah... But I'm sure Peter will just say that him being as nutty as his father is "Just a coincidence." You know what they say about the apple and the tree...
I'm confused on M. Moore's definition of "Capitalism". I thought "capitalism" is businesses (supply side) raise capital to grow & provide value added goods/services for consumers (demand side). Consumers have ALL the power in that they choose which businesses grow and which ones fail using their dollar "votes".. IE, consumers "voted" on Amazon.com as opposed to Circuit City, which has gone out of business.. When govn't intervenes in this process, it distorts the markets & consumers loose out.
Peter Schiff, Ron Paul and the rest of the republican empty suits blame government for all the problems. According to them if we downsize government and have less regulation everything will work out just fine. Well, people are sick of leaving things up to the sociopaths on Wall Street and their toadies in Washington.
People from the outside world now recognize the American Transitional Council headed by Michael Moore as the legitimate government of the USA. Dictator Mubarack Obomber should now join his fellow dictators to exile in Saudi Arabia!
man, I hate Schifftards. what exactly does Schiff do? CEO of EuroCapital? WTF is that? he sells silver and gold to conspiracy theorists. if gov't were in control, they would outlaw his BS derivatives scams with regulations. I think libertarians are just economically stupid, and are brainwashed dummies. I have so much hatred for these idiots
@SchittReport Hey. Your channel is nice. So its time to tell my friends to sell silver, as a good video can probably have big effect on the price of silver?
@LouieDaProtectionist Amen!! These morons go through the GOP talking points, like the brainless parrots that they are, and then have the audacity to say that whoever doesn't agree "doesn't understand economics." What a bunch of uneducated sheep.
Q3- Have you researched the empirical history of Anarcho-Capitalism in the past? One would be the Icelandic Commonwealth (930 to 1262). Another would be the "wild" west, as demonstrated by the research of Terry L. Anderson, an esteemed Free Market Environmentalist. You also might want to do some research on Pennsylvania from 1681-1690.
@awesomekip311 Medieval Iceland was pre-capitalist and was hardly in anarchy but run by a decentralized network of lords. Penn and the "wild west" both had authoritarian order.
forget regulations. we need worker cooperatives.

I applaud the young people who are protesting to try and bring AWARENESS to the WORLD of how the world GOT INTO THIS FINANCIAL MESS.
SECONDLY, I can only wish that the YOUNG PEOPLE had gotten together over the IRAQ war (like they did with Vietnam.)
With the loss of the military draft and the advent of volunteer paid military in America, young people were not intensely personally affected.
The military complex wanted free reign & did not want to see the 1960's protest again.
It worked.
