Bought my Dodge Ram new in 1996 after having a Cummins diesel, I would never want anything else. Pull a 31 foot 12,000lb trailer all over. Added a pac brake and it pulls like a raped ape. Ford are alright, my friends have them. I grew up all Chevy but the Cummins sealed the deal. It's indestructable!

all i see is this awesome diesel where owners have to refill this urea stuff and pay top dollar for recycling it. i have not seen any videos of this rig, gas or diesel, off roading or pulling anything. real life ive seen a gas ford 350 srw pull 11000 pounds with normal acceleration. these new diesels are nice but i wonder what this truck would be without urea and dpf. straight pipe the diesel like the 7.3L and no dpf, then lets compare how far they have come. old ones may be better still.

All the Pontiacs, Buicks, Olds, And Chevy we owned all had major Main and Rear Engine Seals leaks. Leaking all over the drive way. Total Pieces of Junk. We got smart then bought a Ford and Honda and have Not had any problems with leaking Oil all over the place and no break downs like you have with GM! Oh and we had Transmissions problems from Pontiac on down to the Buick. and my sisters Olds Cutlass w/ 350 motor. The Damn Engine Block cracked it too was a pile of DooDoo.
I don't think you guys realize that before the new 6.7, Ford diesels were outsourced to Navistar. they were at first great engines. in fact, all of them are. it's just that the 6.0 and 6.4 got a bad rep because of a few things going wrong. Ford didn't like that Navistar was screwing up, so they stopped buying and made their own diesel. the only problems with Fords actually aren't even Ford problems, but since it's in a Ford truck, Ford did it themselves. good move on Ford's part.

@ashbranson the 6.0 had more power then the 7.3 and the 6.4 had more power then the 6.0 but both the 6.0 and 6.4 had to many problems i never had a problem out of the 7.3 i got a new 6.0 and the damn thing blew up twice with in 50,000 miles i got a new 6.4 and at 25,000 miles the turbo is just now going out
they sell them the same off the lot. 250 and up are work trucks. I could see buying a 250 just for the diesel, but a 350 and up....if your not working it, u wasted your money...these trucks r 50+k.

we have a chevy astro as well. the core of the truck is built pretty well, most of the replacable parts are built very cheap, which is fine for some people, it makes it cheaper to rebuild certain systems, but we wont be buying another chevy. it requires alot of shit to be replaced over and over and it pisses me off. ford makes the best truck all in all, there is no arguing over it.

buddy of mine works for border patrol...use the trucks much harder than this. they use atvs, chevy 1/2 and 3/4 tons and ford 3/4 tons. now they beat the hell out of those trucks chasing with them in 120 heat through dunes. whats really cool is that they order them lifted slightly and with lockers from the factory. unfortunately hes telling me that neither has been really reliable in those conditions

@rumerboyz i wouldnt be so sure, its not chevys that have a hard time keeping head gaskets in them, the cn highrail fleet has mostly superdoodys, its a tough truck but they have so many engine/drivetrain problems, we are starting to switch to duramax hd's, the drive trains will go forever, suspension is not quite as tough but in general a more reliable truck.

Would love to test it on my 24K Acre ranch in Nor Cal. I was just think the other day that Ford should do a commercial like this. It came out really corny though. It needs to be a lot more straight forward. "This is my proving grounds." The one guy mentions about -40 Degree weather, show it. Too clean cut to appeal to the average American. All the Pontiacs, Buicks, Olds, And Chevy we owned all had major Main and Rear Engine Seals leaks. Leaking all over the drive way. Total Pieces of Junk. We got smart then bought a Ford and Honda and have Not had any problems with leaking Oil all over the place and no break downs like you have with GM! Oh and we had Transmissions problems from Pontiac on down to the Buick. and my sisters Olds Cutlass w/ 350 motor. The Damn Engine Block cracked it too was a pile of DooDoo.

I don't think you guys realize that before the new 6.7, Ford diesels were outsourced to Navistar. they were at first great engines. in fact, all of them are. it's just that the 6.0 and 6.4 got a bad rep because of a few things going wrong. Ford didn't like that Navistar was screwing up, so they stopped buying and made their own diesel. the only problems with Fords actually aren't even Ford problems, but since it's in a Ford truck, Ford did it themselves. good move on Ford's part.

@church400c I coudnt agree more....I'm a ford guy and I decided to try chevy....bad idea....bought a new chevy silverado 1500 z71 5.3 liter and it only has now 30,000 miles....let's see the tranny leaked had to have that fixed...new oil pump...plastic panels in the cab coming lose....now it needs litters replaced yea lifters replaced! Front end banging....the list goes on! Chevy junk!

@ashbranson the 6.0 had more power then the 7.3 and the 6.4 had more power then the 6.0 but both the 6.0 and 6.4 had to many problems i never had a problem out of the 7.3 i got a new 6.0 and the damn thing blew up twice with in 50,000 miles i got a new 6.4 and at 25,000 miles the turbo is just now going out

we have a chevy astro as well. the core of the truck is built pretty well, most of the replacable parts are built very cheap, which is fine for some people, it makes it cheaper to rebuild certain systems, but we wont be buying another chevy. it requires alot of shit to be replaced over and over and it pisses me off. ford makes the best truck all in all, there is no arguing over it.

What Mike Rowe is talking about is mesa which is by Boulder, WY which I work on these fileds on Shell rigs....and yes Haliburton does have Ford trucks but as the same time they are alot of other brands like Dodge,GM,Chevy,Toyota's out here so we gonna have to wait and see what this new ford is capable of ...to me I would much rather have the 2010 Dodge 3500 Dually then the Ford super duty but again thats just me.......

buddy of mine works for border patrol...use the trucks much harder than this. they use atvs, chevy 1/2 and 3/4 tons and ford 3/4 tons. now they beat the hell out of those trucks chasing with them in 120 heat through dunes. whats really cool is that they order them lifted slightly and with lockers from the factory. unfortunately hes telling me that neither has been really reliable in those conditions

A lot of people seem to be hating on the new super duty for its looks. Personally I like it, but they are so quick to call it crap. They forget there will be more rim choices and different model ranges. Id buy this truck over the competition any day.

Chevy in the other hand was founded by Louis Chevrolet and William Durant in November 8, 1911 and went on to build its first truck in 1918, which was the "Model D", a V8-powered model in four-passenger roadster and five-passenger tourer models(Which was built to compete with ford's "Model T"), and it was an immediate success.

@rumerboyz i wouldnt be so sure, its not chevys that have a hard time keeping head gaskets in them, the cn highrail fleet has mostly superdoodys, its a tough truck but they have so many engine/drivetrain problems, we are starting to switch to duramax hd's, the drive trains will go forever, suspension is not quite as tough but in general a more reliable truck.

Would love to test it on my 24K Acre ranch in Nor Cal. I was just think the other day that Ford should do a commercial like this. It came out really corny though. It needs to be a lot more straight forward. "This is my proving grounds." The one guy mentions about -40 Degree weather, show it. Too clean cut to appeal to the average American. Show people that have to buy the trucks themselves not company trucks.

And the only pickups i have seen haliburton run there are Ford trucks. So Ford must be doin somthin right. I do agree they should show them being "used" not just a guy drivin around and talkin!
