Animation is not yet supported in v0.23. v0.24 is coming in the next week with some much needed support for things like texturing and normal mapping. Animation is on a short list of things to work on next, but when versions can be finished depends entirely on how much free time I have.
This engine is currently on hold until I have more time, it currently works for XNA 3.1. Converting to XNA 4.0 is no small task unfortunately. But here's the link for anyone interested in the progress: quickstartengine (dot) codeplex (dot) com
It is compatible with XNA 2.0, however, using the XNA conversion tool from 2.0-3.1 should be a breeze, I don't think it will require any changes to any code.
No physics on particles :), too expensive. However in future versions we may have certain particle types check collision.
Newest version is 0.19, and that is 4 months old, 0.20 should be coming out in a month or two, which is a HUGE improvement over what you see here, only we haven't started on graphics capabilities much yet, so it isn't as pretty, just much more powerful. It uses Ageia for the physics which is pretty sweet.
Wow, great work guys. I'm currently in the progress of developing a project for college. I will definitaly be using this to aid in development time. Keep the great work up =]

v0.182b has been updated to XNA 2.0.
v0.19 and v0.195 use XNA 2.0 also, but are currently lacking most of the "fun" or "cool" graphical and physics features.

yeah..i found where the updated ones are at. There at codeplex

Is it free to download XNA?

This is great. Already looking WAY better graphically than Torque's 3D game engine. I'm kind of a fan of Torque2D though. :o
