People are comfortable eating dead animals in north america as long as they dont have to see how it happens. If you have a problem watching this you should have just as big a problem eating boneless skinless chicken breasts from the grocery store. Just because YOU didnt do the killing doesnt make you any more humane then a restaurant that serves it live. It's all part of the food chain. Many MANY animals eat their prey live and from all our pollution and wars I dont see us being any more evolved

Actually i find this a bit disturbing, but i dont eat meat anyways. for me it's the same: this way of eating is a way of culture, the western way of eating meat is just blind, ignorant and conveniant.
if i was into eating meat i would definatly take the full shot and travel to asia to try all this stuff, because this way of eating animals is way more human than it is in our countrys, e.g. europe, most parts of america etc.

Yes,it is barbaric when people kill one another, however the "rape the corpse" thing, that's a little graphic and was uncalled for. Even most killers won't violate the dead, and even thinking/mentioning of it is a bit barbaric within itself.
The Apple is a bad example. They don't contain nervous systems, and the tree sheds these fruits like an animal would hair, except with the intent of them to be eaten. The seeds pass through the digestive tract, so they are fertilized with dung.

While yes they were impaled they would have been either a) cooked soon after or b) eaten live where they would have died moments later. If you're going to scream animal rights to me I suggest you go on safari and bother a boa which constricts the oxygen out of its prey or a lion which kills by strangulation.

@xfxfxfsindy Chickens raised in factory farms suffer greatly and have their beaks cut off to avoid them poking each other while they're crammed together but rarely do we look at that form of torture. I'm not for animal torture I'm just stating that what is happening in this video is no where near gruelling hour long torture and is no better or worse then the kind of pain that prey would suffer at the hands of an animal in the wild and that people - human beings, aren't as evolved as we think :)

My guess is this is for 火鍋. They're kept on sticks to prevent them from flipping around. I've seen them in just jars as well, but they have a tendency to be harder to pin down, especially when they're flipping about the table.
