  • That sounds wonderful with prawns! You just cook the rice, according to package instructions. You don't have to heat the rice before adding it in. Just stir it around with all of the heated mixture.

  • I love fried rice....I find that chilling the cooked rice even maybe overnight makes the rice not so sticky. It helps each grain to stay seperate....but I don't always do it that way...it's just a thought.

    It is also chinese and seems difficult to make. Can you make an easy american version of it? What ever u make is going to be yummy.. so pls pls give it a try too

  • My Family loved it, especially my Mom wants the recipe. I am a Sweet/sour fan so I mostly spice up the soy souce with some honey and mustard, salt and pepper.

  • not bad for a fried rice recipe

    but in our chinese cuisine we combine all ingredients at once using a wok at high heat..so it cooks quick..and its fried rice which means the rice is fried with the rest of ingredients..along with hoisin sauce and others..

    no offence to this recipe..but its still fantastic!

  • You should bring the rice to a boil on medium to high heat, and then cover it with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and let it just lightly simmer for 15 minutes.

  • I thought about frying the rice, but I decided to make it a little simpler--kind of in segments--the rice, the chicken, the vegetables, and the eggs. It would have been a little tastier with the rice fried first! Thanks, Mera! It's nice to hear from you!

  • Great recipe, Betty..one helpful tip is if u cut the chicken in cubes while its partially frozen it cuts faster & in even squares easily rather than waiting til its completely defrosted and more flimsy & then just toss the cubes in the wok or pan of oil for the saute and adding in ur veggies as u go..that way u only mess up one pan...your version looks tasty, tho! =)

  • u need a rice cooker betty they cook the rice to perfection i never mess it up in the rice cooker and u can steam veges in the rice cooker too

  • I dont see the need for the eggs I know it is standard for fried rice though but you get enough orotein from the chicken.

  • Soonfully, I don't eat eggs so i don't know for certain, but i was told that people put eggs in fried rice not for protein but to soak up excess oil in the food from the pan to keep it from being too greasy.
