I like the setting and premise. I'll definitely get it to see how it fits in to XCOM plot-wise. It looks fun, and I don't think it deserves all of the flak it gets. Realize that this is a prequel, there is probably an explanation for why the aliens do not look the same. While I agree it doesn't look near as fun as XCOM, there is no reason to attack it, it looks fun on it's own right. Plus, now that there is going to be a true sequel, why complain?

@chobankovic Chill. Look up X-COM: Alliance. Even many of the original developers thought a Squad-based FPS was a good idea, as that idea almost dates back as far as UFO Defense (1995 or so).

I'd say the biggest insult is all the crappy UFO titles that came out in the mid-2000s that just sucked. No one knows how good or bad this game is going to wind up being at present.

In the beginning I loved this idea. Taking the X-COM gameplay and then put yourself on the field sounded like an idea that would put the player in a much more exciting experience. At least from my perspective. But then they even cut out the essential part of not killing your team members? That was the reason I would buy it! The fact that I start to care about them, and see them fight by my side. The feeling I could have when I couldn't save a teammate is gone and so is the chance of me buying it

2K Boston is largely responsible for Bioshock, However, 2K Boston, Marin, and Australia all used to be one company, multiple studios working in unison. Now they are split with Marin working on X-com, Boston working on Bioshock Infinite and Australia providing support for both. Not lecturing , just informing you.
