  • i have the same rifle remington sps varmint 22-250 millett trs-1 scope, burris extreme tactical base, hornady ammo u need to use different ammo hornady, winchester, remington etc everyrifle is different ammo should be the first change not the stock

  • I found your videos not long after buying the same rifle. I know you these weren't "instructional" videos, but having them as a reference was invaluable when bedding my action. I made a few minor mistakes, but I avoided any big ones. Thanks. From my experience, the only recommendation that I can make is that you get someone to handload some ammo for you. With handloads, my "polished turd" is shooting a little better than 1/2" groups at 100 yards. Thanks again. -Ryan

  • do you hand load ? because unless you do and taloir a load to the rifle or try many different types of factory ammo you can't get it's best accurcy. you could've just glass bed the recoil lug

  • do you hand load ? because unless you do and taloir a load to the rifle or try many different types of factory ammo you can't get it's best accurcy

  • It would probably help to break in the rifle properly

  • hey, convert this rifle to a sniper weapon system, amazing difference. check out my channel

  • just go all at and get a aics stock up grade it bolts straght on to a remington 700

  • Also groups should be at least 5 shots at 100 yards. 3 shot groups are acceptable at 300 plus yards but 5 shots is what should be aimed for. 10 shots at 100 yards is now become the standard that or a 10 half inch dot drill just a little fyi ;)

  • I've shot my buddies STOCK sps varmint and it is a sub MOA rifle. Judging by those groups I say its shooter error and not the rifles fault. No offense.

  • how many round between cleaning foul out of the rifle bore do you practice???

  • I have to say your accuracy sucks on that target, have better grouping with my hunting rifle in ought six at 200 yards, once I get back to my hometown I show you guys the target!

  • I watched all 9 videos and I can't wait to do this to my SPS.

Talk about false advertising! Remington really dropped the ball with this stock.

Once I get the stock bedded, I want to try my hand at painting it with Cerakote.

    Keep making great videos!

  • Dude, if you want to improve the accuracy of that rifle, toss the plastic stock and get a HS Precision with an aluminium bedding block. Why polish a turd?

  • Some of us at the moment don't have a spare £300 for a HS Precision. I myself and many others would love to put new stocks on thier rifles but this is an alternative to parting with 300 quid. Why polish a turd because it is cheaper than getting it gold plated !!! Peace Mate

  • @wildernesseducation Okay point taken ... I like your workmanship, but despise how Rem put out such crap products ... peace, and deadly acurate groups ... if that makes any sense!

  • i used the same rifle in 3 law enforcement sniper schools. it DOES have a free floating barrel. I shoot 1 inch groupings at 100 yards and did not shoot any worse or better than any of the other students at any of the three schools.

  • @wildernesseducation yeah HS is expensive. If you are looking for a good rifle in the future look at a savage 10FP. I have a remington 700 with HS tactical barrel and HS pro 2000 series stock and a Savage 10FP both accuratcy is the same. 1/2 MOA

  • @wildernesseducation After seeing your last video, your expectations of a cheap gun are a little high, no aluminium blocks or pillars ? not a free floating barrel. Well yes of course this is the case. You appeared to be surprised about this. You can always pillar bed it worse case scenario.

  • @heatseeker64 check out boyds gun stocks they're cheap as and really good. My uncle is pulling out 4' groups at 600 yards with his

  • @heatseeker64 If you were to get an HS Precision stock, you would still need to glass bed it for the best possible accuracy. What wilderness did not only saves money, but adds experience and practice for future projects. besides, the difference in accuracy between a glass bedded remington stock, and a glass bedded HS P stock, is something most people will not be able to take advantage of because of human error.

  • @heatseeker64 I have a 270 Sendero with an HS precision stock that doesn't shoot either. It will still need bedded...

  • I have the same gun and plan to bed the action very soon, I plan to use your videos as a guide while doing it. Could you tell me the bit you used in your dremel to grind the stock out, and are you completely satisfied with the results/is there anything you would have done differently?

    Thanks

  • 115 7.8 mm High Speed Cutter Ref: 115

is the bit that i used from dremmels website. I am very satisfied with the results just make sure that you degreese the stock rough it up so that the compound bonds to the plastic. Also what out for the squezz out issue up the feed ramp that i mentioned towards the end. And i probably would not have lowered the web of plastic at the front of the magazine well because i had alot of filing to clean it all up becuase thier was alot of squezz out thier

  • video nine is NOT impressive, should be one hole

  • Sorry mate with respect I was not trying to impress you or trying to create a rifle custom bench rest accuracy.

What i was trying to do was make my rifle more accurate which from the video you can see i achieved. I was quite impressed that i got it to work without glueing my action into my stock and that it did improve accuracy.

And so have all the people who have posted comments apart from you. If you can bed a remy 700 spsv and get it to shoot a one hole group please show us.

    Peace

  • Dont listen to bad comments, mostly they have never shot a rifle full bore, and never seen a deer.

You dont need bench accuracy to kill deers :P

  • Good video, I haven't seen anyone touch on the subject for a while.

I laughed when I saw Bambi on the box of modeling clay! XD

  • Hey, that was a great set of vids. Thanks a lot. I'm going to bed my 700 XCR Compact Tactical very soon and that was tremendously helpful! Now I'm going to watch precisionlrhunter's vids :)

  • The problem is your ammo. Federal ammo is terrrible compared to others

  • The problem was not the ammunition and federal gold medal match is some of the highest quality factory loaded target ammo out their. The problem was the action was moving around in my stock from shot to shot. Bedding is the process of creating a very precise fit between the action of the rifle and the stock to eliminate this movement and improve the accuracy. Watch video 8 when test fire the rifle after bedding with the same federal ammo and you will see that it is nothing to do with ammo

  • "junkerboy2251" Saw your review of the NERF RECON! What ammo do you use in your NERF RECON? Is it Nerfchester, Remnerfington, or surplus Nurf ammo? When will you be doing a review on a toy that uses rifle propellent?

  • what is bedding??

  • in synthetic barrels you dont need aluminium pillars, only in wood

  • This fact is true. Although ! It will help tremendously when setting up and truing the receiver before the bedding procedure, in a sense zeroing it.

  • 42 quid, sheesh!

  • joys of the of the economic crissis mate it was better than spending the 300 quid that i do not have on a new stock. Also if i ever crack a sump or casing on my 4x4 i now have the stuff that i can repair it with so it was not that bad. The alummnium putty is cheaper and just as effective i went for the titainium stuff cause it was recomended and is mill spec

  • I hear ya mate.

And If you're going to do something, might as well do it right the first time.

  • Great video.

what's the name of the song in the intro?

  • did you make a video on how you free floated your barrel? nice vid here though, thanks for putting this together.
