nice way of making an extra buck (and increase your popularity), but I don't know how a scientist like Leonard could work with someone like deepak chopra... its like the old debate about teaching evolution and creationism in the class... we know that one is complete nonsense.
The scientist who bases his opinions on things that have evidence is further off on 'reality' than the guy who basically makes things up? Hmmmm. Interesting definition of reality.
I have meditated a lot. It teaches you absolutely nothing about the nature of reality, just the capabilities of the human brain. If you go into any situation with some kind of religious belief, you'll likely manage to convince yourself it's true. Unfortunately, someone with a different belief will also convince themselves. In reality, the human brain looks to support beliefs it already holds. In science, this is a dishonest way of doing things.
Oh ok. Please send me a video tape of yourself surviving a fall out of a tall building then since you don't believe in the objective law of gravity. You need to rethink your position as you don't currently deserve to own a computer that depends on the objective laws of quantum electro-dynamics.
When I heard about this book, I thought Prof. Mlodinow had gone over to the dark side. It's only now that I learn that its a debate between him and Chopra and not him agreeing with Chopra. Well that's good anyway.
Well, it's nice that he tries to be so pleasant to Deepak, but frankly it only makes Deepak's claims look like they should be taken seriously. They shouldn't. :P
@jursamaj exactly - so there are two possibilities , either he is just in it for the money or at some level he does agree with chopra. Or else why would he even.....
Or he simply disagrees with my statement. Or perhaps he feels that exposing people to real science is worth the price of taking Deepak seriously. Or something else neither of us has thought of.

Both Leonard and Deepak are on the wrong track, although Deepak is actually closer to the truth of reality.

Words are mere abstractions. Go meditate for about ten years and see for yourself

Clearly you aren't a meditator. Keep looking outside for answers and see how far that gets you.

Clearly you aren't rational. Keep looking inside for answers and see how few of them are objectively verifiable.

Babble.
Everything is subjective, viewed through the lens of your own consciousness. There is no such thing as objectivity.
