  • You should make a tutorial for Thoki Yenn's Flip Flop. I am also having trouble with a few of the harder steps.

  • You should do his "Flip Flop" Im having difficulty with a few steps...

  • I'm guessing a silver rectangle is the same to an A4 sized paper right?

  • @musicmixer112 Yes, that's right.

  • thanks i made six of these! and stacked them and made a very high tower

  • thanks i made 6 of these! very funny to make

  • good explanation but I cant see anything

  • @kindercollecter2 Sorry, my more recent videos are easier to follow.

  • @kindercollecter2 i think her explanation was very good

  • D': you didnt tell us what size a4 paper is and how do you make a a4 size out of a square?

  • @darkangel78917 Please check the video description for the appropriate links.

  • Thank you Sara!

I have been trying to split it into fifths and I had no hope. But I saw the light, and it was you that helped me!

    Thank you again!

  • this is awesome so much better than origaminut vid.!!!! :) (5 stars)

  • I am using A4 paper, but I can't get equal 5ths! Help me please! :(

  • @MrKoolTrix If you are having trouble with this, a last resort can be to measure the fifths. You can also check my video on how to get fifths on a square, and apply it here.

  • @boffyful Not if you want to follow the instructions in this video, I fear.

  • arrrrgh!!! I cant get equal 5ths! Iam using printer paper and I cant get 5 even segments. the tab folded at 1:56 makes the horizontal crease that follows it too small of a section when I fold it,wtf!? can someone help??

  • @scumbuddy If you use letter-sized paper you have to ensure that you first cut it to the correct ratio. You need to start with half an A4 sheet, rather than half a letter-sized sheet. Office paper in Canada is usually letter format, not A4.

  • 4.07 i dont even get that square, a have a large rectangle. wtf?

  • @PS3November17 If you don't get a square 3/5 by 3/5, then you either started with the wrong size paper, or did a step incorrectly.

  • thankyou 5 stars

  • does printer paper work?

  • Printer paper works remarkably well for this model.

  • ever tried doing this with money?

  • No, I haven't. I'm not much into folding with money. It is possible, though, and has a nice effect.

  • 1 unit took me 1 hour i wonder how long

    the rest will be...XD

  • no mesalio

  • this is a fun model to make :)

    thanks 4 makin it sara!

  • can someone ttell me what is A4 paper? i am abviously new to origami. thanks!

  • A4 paper is international paper size that commonly used..except in states

the size is =8.3 in. by 11.7 in.

  • a piece of printer paper ok not to be rude i have been doing origami for 4 years now

  • just a sheet of copy paper

  • its normal printing paper dude u should have some in ur printer

  • i asked that basically a month ago. next time check the date and plus i already had 3 comments.

  • printer paper. not really but who cares

  • hesi mani

    yeeish!!!

iro project yaco iri bo nai?

    i said thats good

  • what are the dimension of the paper before cut it

  • A4 paper has the size 8.3in x 11.7in.

  • oh never mind i figured out a trick and finished

  • my fifths always are off for some reason im using a4 paper if that means anything

  • help me with the wedge flexycube but good vids

  • thank you sooooooooooooooooooo much

  • Dear Adams Sara,

I really love your origami videos. They are comprehensible and easy to follow. :) Thank you for taking the time into making this video, as well as everything else.

However, I seem to be haing trouble making the fifths. My second and third fifths appear to be MUCH wider than they should be. I believe I followed yur video well. Can you please tell me what I did wrong, or if it is supposed to be that way? Thanks!

    Yours truly,

    Mi Zi

  • If you are using 8 /12" x 11" paper then that will happen. As she stated earlier in the comments, you will need to first divide the paper into fifths lengthwise before any of the other folding/creasing. She has another video explaining how to fold a paper into fifths if you need it.

  • Yay! i made a unit... 5 more to go.

  • Amazing!

  • 7:56-8:00 Thats what she said! =D

  • lol

  • Ha lol

  • Whats A4 Paper?

  • Its pretty much European printer paper

I used regular American printer paper and it turned out fine

  • its a regular piece of printing paper

  • can you make instructions for the three headed dragon by montroll?

  • Thanks for a great tutorial!

  • At the end, Sara you said,"Push the model in carefully.". The way you put that in I thought you were trying to choke the paper. lol

  • Ah, but when choking it, you have to be careful not to crumple the whole model. ;)

  • Thank you so much!

  • LOL, when I saw you display this Sara, in your 'Random Models', I knew I wanted to learn it, but had a hard time finding it. But, I did, and couldn't believe really how easy it is. Haven't tried it yet, as I need paper, but will be giving it a try in a day or two. Thanks so much for sharing. I've been glued to all your video's last night and today. I'm not getting ANY housework done. This is VERY addicting, lol.

  • Wow, well done! I'll have to try this model the next time I get a chance. Now that you gave us a link which shows us how to easily create A4 paper from Letter sized, I can make a LOT more models now!

Sheesh, I've been doing Origami for over 12 years now and am still learning new things every day.

    Thanks and happy folding Sara!

  • Wat is A4 paper?

  • The paper you start off with, and have to cut in half lengthwise has to be A-sized. Printing paper will do in any country except for the US and Canada (they use letter).

Basically, the aspect ratio is 1 by square root of 2. I'd recommend starting with A5, so after cutting 3 sheets in half, you'll have 6 sheets sized 74mm by 210mm. Speaking in inches, try 6 sheets sized 3in by 8.485in.

  • k thx alot

  • how long have u been doing origami for

  • Pretty much 2 years and 4 months now.

  • lol i was looking at some old videos that ive watched, and i made another one lol!

  • i know how to make it with letter sized paper. cut in half lengthwise and to divide in fifths use one of the techniques that Adamssara gives in one of her vids. then you continue on.

  • How would you make it into fiths?Because in the video telling how to make it into fifths she uses a square piece of paper.

  • If you're using paper with a slightly different ratio (half a letter-sized, dollar bills, etc), divide the paper into fifths lengthwise first. I did a technique video on fifths. Obviously, you won't be starting with a square.

So, to apply the technique, simply mark a square along the length of the strip (with a crease, or a pinch mark), and then work on that square:

    Hope this helps.

  • Okay thank you soooooooooo much.

  • do you know how to make a flexicube i want to know so if you could tellme it would be great

  • There's a couple of different flexicubes out there, although I have only folded the wedge flexicube by David Brill so far. There's videos up for that, actually. There's also a double star flexicube by David Brill I haven't folded yet (diagrams in "Brilliant Origami"). Apparently there's also a stellated flexicube by David Brill (diagrams in "Quadratico Magico 22").

You're probably talking about the flexicube by Philip Noble, which I haven't tried yet, either.

  • i gave up on this just today, thanks to you, i might try again.

  • I live in the US so I'm having a hard time figuring out a way I can make this. Any chance of getting the right sized paper from the letter sized printing paper we use, without bringing out a ruler?

  • I might try making a video on this, will just have to cut some paper to roughly letter size. ;)

    Until then: w w w (dot)britishorigami(dot)info/academic/thok/amletter.html

  • wow, thats seriously magical. Thanks!

  • ummm... sryy, but i cant understand u at the begining.can u tell me wat size paper 2 use please? again, srry!

  • cool this is like the only thing i can do of urs except the lilly and butterfly

  • thoma søndergård. Is he norwegian?
