wow a girl with a workbench?! nice! just love to hear you and see your video great bench and loved watching it! more women playing with power tools is great fun, harbor freight tools has great tools for you to look for as well have fun with the bench!
Search: "Finished Garage With MaxJax 2 Post Lift" for a guided tour of a remodeled garage interior, plenty of ideas you might like, storage, workbench, heating, floors and more!
Good Video. Can I get more info on the clamp please? Checked Sears' website but they only have this one, Craftsman 3 in. 90 deg. Quick Release Corner Clamp. Appreciate any help in advance. Cheers
hi great video just started working with wood last year after moving in with girlfriend, build solid bench in garage and tool hangers cupboards and shelves. ever since i have been building, huge fence just finished nice set of driveway gates today with little post box. hav made picnic table with canopy. loads of other things. i'm never stop now. she gets just as excited about what i build as the way you seem to. its good to have passion about your interests. i guess were lucky. thx Gary&Alla
@kyzer747 Thank you! I know its just a humble workbench. lol but I was really happy it was not lopsided and really inexpensive to build! There's no way I could undertake the projects you've done! whew! Its cool that you're girlfriend appreciates that! It's almost like artwork!
I wish I had the talent to make a GOOD professional looking table for my livingroom (you know, to build it how I want it)...lol but I'll stick with 'garage' quality woodworking. .lol :-)
She says, "You can never have enough C-clamps." Were truer words ever spoken? My father told me, "A man can never have too many C-clamps or tell his wife too many times that he loves her." My father was a wise man.
@gardenvespers777 Or Irwin quick grips. I discovered these recently and they are my new favourite toy. One handed operation with the same grip as a C-clamp. Great workbench by the way :)
@rono8582 ohh its ok :-) It doesn't look crooked, since it was the first time doing something like this, I wasn't sure how it would look when I got done. lol
It's fun watching this lady build her workbench. She's so proud that her bench IS LEVEL. Awe, she didn't realize that her garage floor is not level. She may never notice if she leaves it in it's current orentation to the sloped floor
loved your video; loved the giggles. i bought same shop vise from lowes last month, but mounted it on separate table from my woodworking bench. will go today to buy craftsman corner clamps per your recommendation. thanks!
Good to hear you also picked up that vise! It sure has come in handy.
This was a fun project I really enjoyed it! I get a kick out of that Dewalt. Its definitely worth it to invest in good tools if possible/ Who knows how this would have turned out if I didn't have the corner clamp and the Dewalt! loll
@MarshmallowVogt thanks! I'm very happy with how it came out! I just needed something simple and yep.. sturdy.
lollll yea..I laugh every time I use that Impact Wrench! It makes everything so much easier and it takes 2 seconds and its done! Definitely worth the investment! There's no way I would have been able to take off the lawnmower blade without it. (thats in my other video) Actually that was the reason I bought it. Why pay a shop to do that...its already paid for itself. :-)
Now why didn't you put those coach/lag screws through the legs, and into the stretchers of your bench? Then they wouldn't show, and you would have a nice clear surface on front to clamp up against. But hey this is the way to go. Build your own bench and let the Sears catalogue guys starve!
@gardenvespers777 Thanks! I rewatched the video and you said where you got it and what it cost....I don't know how I missed it the first time. That vise looks like the perfect vice.
@swsebrownsugar1888 .. lollll You can easily make this. What really helped is buying that corner clamp that I showed. You'll get a 90 degree angle with that thing every time! I can't imagine how crooked it would have been without it. The carpenter's square only helps to a point. I was just looking at some of your videos! they're great! You need to build yourself a potting bench :-D. then you can post it and we can see! Go go go! You can do it! :-D
Very nice, do you have an angle grinder, it has a hundred uses. Oh, also a wire-feed welder, they come in handy. Now I'll have to show some of my tools, muah ahahahahahaha, home-made contraptions of all shapes and sizes.
@Helioforge hmm...I don't have either of those. Only the basics I guess. I want to get a Dewalt Impact Driver though. and I would love a sliding compound mitre saw.. but.. I would really never use it much... when I think about it. A little overkill if i'm just cutting a few pieces of wood. lol

great looking bench! But,....you used a 6" level for a 6' table?
that's not gonna work. you need to cover both ends with a level to make sure it IS level!

@elchuyitojr I found it at Sears
Craftsman 90 deg. Quick Release Corner Clamp
| Sears Item# 00931508000 | Model# 31508
Lowes and Home Depot had them too, but the Craftsman has that quick release. It was so easy to use!
