Great video. The lever action was used by some American Calvary units during the civil war and during the westward expansion. It's a great horse gun. Thumbs up!
My great uncle has an old bolt action .30/30 not sure of the company or how old it is. I just know the barrel is held to the stock with electrical tape
i think i have the same model but with a safety on it and the breakdown is super simple just halfway cock the lever and unscrew the lever and the bolt will slide out but the gun stays clean and shoots straight!!!!!
Nice job. My first rifle nearly 20 years ago was a Marlin 336 in 30-30. I just picked up an 1895 in 45-70, a 336 will probably be next. Thanks for the video...
Good video. I'm not familiar with lever actions. Quick (and dumb) question regarding the hammer "safe" position, want to make sure I'm understanding this. You chamber a round which cocks the hammer to firing position. Then you hold the hammer with thumb, pull back on trigger and slowly let the hammer down to the "safe" (second position) from which the gun will not fire. Then when you're ready to fire you pull the hammer all the way back again where it locks in the firing position? Is that it?
A few things,i think youll find a crossbolt safety on the receiver, it has a transfer bar safety also so it wont fire with the hammer down, but the half cock works good too, its good for hunting nothing bigger than deer & small black bear at close range under 200 yards & very good for defense against intruders,it has very similar power to the AK 7.62x39 round, snipers dont use it because they need to take long range shots.Theyre great rugged utility rifles as long as you use it within its limits.

@PsykoWaffle He looks just like a bobcat, but he is a domesticated house cat so he is not fair game! Plus my cat hunting license expired LOL!

You're right, man! The biggest safety is behind your ears.
