@pskovityanin I was not expressing pity. I was just noting it as a unfortunate corruption of the meaning of the word. It's not based on similarity, Its based on the etymology (origin) of the word slave. Although, obviously, the meaning of both in modern times are miles apart. Its a bit like forcing indians into servitude, but over the years the word indians evolves to what we call slaves today purely by the usage of language. I read that slava is similar in meaning (Serb) to christened name.
