How to download and install Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max 2012 for free

hey mate!i download the file as instructed.the file was a winrar file(20+ files).i chose1.after i extracted i got the folder that can be seen at the begining of your video.i clicked on setup.it then again started 2 extract and then the AUTODESK MAYA window opened.i clicked on install like you did.then it started todetermine the installation requirements.after some time it was written FAILLED TO INITIALIZE AUTODESK MAYA 2012.what should i do now?I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE RESPOND!

@rajeshomg HAHA, I love it when people don't pay attention(so that they ask me Q's and I give A's!!!)...Anyway, I actually didn't understand what you meant by "would you prefer 3ds max over maya?" but if you are talking about installing Maya with 3ds Max installed then I would say that won't be a problem. In fact, I have these installed in my pc-3ds Max 9 & 2012, Maya 2012, Realflow 2012, Maxon Cinema 4D r12 and much much more. And I love to work on both Max and Maya, though I find Maya harder!

@rajeshomg You are right, Maya does have more and easier options than Max like fluids, modelling, dynamics etc. I personally prefer Max because FOR ME that is easier to learn than Maya because of Mayas complexity in the settings! @demon6937 COOL! If I were you I would have searched youtube (I don;t like Vimeo!) for a tutorial on creating that character. There is usually tutorials for these kinda stuff. Also there are project files available for downloads that you will just import into the program and BAM you are good to go. They can be downloaded for free and with money, either way. If you look into my other videos you will see one called rPhone. There I used an iPhone model for 3ds Max and edited it myself!!!

@demon6937 Hey, I am not sure what you meant but if you are talking about making an image out of a 3ds Max project/animation then you have to go to the render settings(F10),choose any image format (png format is best because of its lossless characteristic), select the particular frame to be converted, choose the image resolution, choose the destination folder and hit the big 'Render' button and that's it! And for the record, I learn everything myself not from school (even though I am only 16!!!)

@demon6937 Very interesting question! This is how I will answer-3ds Max is a great and huge software for achieving unbelievable 3D stuff. Maya is also pretty same but is mostly great for modelling and adding Fluids easily. From MY experience I think that 3ds Max is much much easier to learn than Maya. Nonetheless, Maya is at no.1 in 3d animation software and Max is at no.2. Cinema 4D is also a great program for 3d animation. Check this out: 3d-animation-software-review.t­optenreviews(dot)com

@demon6937 I actually hate playing computer games so I can't tell you about gaming performance in 64bit OS. But the OS should work fine. My pc is 32bit supported because it is an old model but I can run 64bit without any problem. You shouldn't have any problem with it...I hope my answer was correct for you!

@JKTPerry I think you forgot to follow one step. You HAVE to right-click on the x-force file and SELECT "Run As Administrator"...you HAVE to do that, otherwise it won't work. Look at my video and notice that I did that. Hope this helps and let me know if it does...;D

@METAVIRITE I didn't understand your question/comment clearly. But at the moment when I was recording this tutorial it probably had a minor incomplete installation error. But later, for a reason I re-installed my OS and then it installed without any problem...I am using Windows 7 Ultimate, 2GB ram, 256MB Graphics Card. This is a pretty obsolete machine but I am able to pull off a lot of things with it...COOL! ;D
