  • Shes cute

  • @JFryParnell Which one?

  • @Shoknifeman The one with the face that keeps moving

  • @JFryParnell left: Atsuko, middle: Etsuko & right (and close ups): Naoko

I take it you mean Naoko, yes she's the most gorgeous 50 yr old woman I've ever seen...and she looks just as good in person!

  • @Shoknifeman Whair are they from. Shes 50 in this Vid? I hope I look that good when I'm 50 if I live that long. Like the oldest reported person is a dude named buster in england. But probly whair their from theirs older people they just don't tell everyone, or they can't speek english at all.

  • @JFryParnell She was about 45 when she made this video, but, she looks even better now (She lost some weight and changed her hair to a more flattering style .... look at the Super Group video, pretty much the way she looks now at 50 >>>>>>>

  • @JFryParnell ooops forgot to mention, that she is from Osaka Japan

  • Funny thing, just heard the japanese version of this like two minutes ago, and had no idea what the hell the song was about until the very end and they spelled Spam. And, even then, I wasn't sure if they meant the e-mail or the stuff in the can.

  • @TheMaverickMJ I don't think they have Spam meat in Japan...but, I could be wrong... it just doesn't seem like something the Japanese would eat (They tend to prefer their meat and fish as close to nature as possible)

  • Atsuko was amazing, she could play the drums, keyboards and even bass, and play them all well!

  • @Shoknifeman

And she's sweet. I met her. They are

    all so friendly! :)

  • @hirofan Sadly, I've never been able to meet Atsuko , i've met the band as it's composed now though

  • @Shoknifeman

It's funny.. Atsuko left the band just weeks

after I saw them. She's my favorite.

  • @hirofan Michie is my all-time fave; my fave of the present band in Ritsuko who is just totally sweet and funny (We chatted a little between songs during the concert)

  • I got my very first spam e-mail today. I've had the e-mail account for about a year.

It's a really great account. I wonder how many other people have ever managed to go this long without spam.

  • @kittyprydekissme About 52 seconds, i'd guess! ;)

  • @kittyprydekissme 2 or 3 maybe ;)

  • BTW, if any of you loving this song havent bought the Genki Shock CD, go out and get it, its fantastic (I just listened to my own copy for the first time last night, and LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEED it !!! :D

  • Mega cool

  • All by itself, this song makes "Genki Shock" worth the price (I bought it a few weeks ago)

  • Of all the SK songs, this one is the best "headbanger"! :D

  • wat year is this song from??

  • Genki Shock came out in 2005

  • <3 =)

  • It's like the Japanese spliced the DNA of the Ramones and the Go Go's. Awesome!

  • @DejectedPanda no way this songs like Kim Wilde Kids in america.

  • Things don't stick out like a sore thumb

  • "it's troublesome...it's not wholesome". HAHAHA!

  • evil spam emails!

  • mmmmm, mmmmm s'all i can say.

  • Love the Knife!

  • I love this song! :-D

A couple questions I have though are:

    1. Was this released as a single or just on Genki Shock?

    2. Which year did this song come out?

  • love the song

  • I know, it's soo awesome!!! ^.^

  • This was released in 2006. I don't think this was released as a single. To my knowledge, this was the first SK album the current drummer Etsuko played on. Naoko's husband Roman Yumeno filled in on guitar and bass for this album.

  • Another good one by Shonen Knife!

  • i love this song - just discovered the band - shonen knife rule. yee. very catchy

  • Rock over London...

    Rock on Osaka!!!

  • Good almost like RAMONES! GooD!!!

  • @sk69aja HEY HO LETS -TOKYO

    712 fs-Boneyard

  • Dont tell me Another Journey Fan!

  • Same as a Hen Way!

  • lol, that accent whats make them unique and famous you retard emperor

  • God this song is great with the head phones on and the volume cranked to 10.Can't get enough of it.

Another fave from Ghenki is Under My Pillow which somehow sounds a bit to me like Audioslaves "Like A Stone". Good stuff.

  • Have had Genki Shock for a while and

have not gone tired of it...Great Album..

    Giant kitty Is cranked.....Love Atsuko

    on Evil Emails (SPAM)..

    Pete FS-Boneyard

  • I'm looking forward to their show. I'm glad Atsuko is playing -- she's a lot of fun and it means they'll do a few songs where she sings.

Boneyard: If you're looking for that Happy Hour CD with Naoko holding the guitar you'll have to order it from Japan. The "guitar" one is the Japanese version. I wish there was a "cartoon" version of that poster from HH(actually illustrations by Yoshitomo Nara). That would really rock.

Geez, I wish they'd done a video for Spider House.............

  • I bought Fun Fun Fun from a Store in Tokyo

    last month...The yellow copie of

    Genki Shock is next(japanese version).

I want the live album from Osaka 2006 too...

    Gone Knife KWAZeY...

Naoko Has become my Hero...Still Love

    Debbie Harry Too...

    Pete FS-Boneyard

  • just love Atsuko with the head banging bass

Heard she's on the 2007 us tour!

    Pete FS-Boneyard

  • Reckless Records here in Chicago gave me a promo poster of "Happy Hour" where they're posed playing their instruments. I love that poster-gawd, I can't find it-took it down from my front apt. window. Had it up until 2000.

  • Bingbong Is this the cartoon Poster ? or a Photo Poster

from Happy Hour...Im looking for the CD that

Shows the animated Naoko holding her guitar instead of Lolypops....

    Pete Fs-Boneyard

  • Hi fsboneyard. It is a photo poster. The girls are wearing the same outfits as in the photo where they're are sitting on the animated couch. The photos appear to have been taken as a series and most likely at the same time/day. I didn't know an animated one existed. Take it easy.

    Julius Allan H.-Chicago

  • i love their music, but ever since one of the girls got killed by a car that's all i think about when i listen to them.

  • Mana (drummer) after Atsuko went to Bass after Michie left in 1999 died in NJ in a car crash some years ago.

Just boycot the album she was on to feel good??????

    Know your Knife....

    WOW....

    FS-Boneyard

  • Since this album came out iv been buying any Shonen Knife Cd possible. Boy any Goth chick at the record store opens her eye's when you mention (do you have any Shonen Knife!) Puth the logo SK with the Knife on my truck window

along with the Ramones logo..Any boom boom local

gets a taste of Naoko. Knife looks at western culture ...Eating Food ,Animals and things(evil emails)..No love ! No Romance !As like the Ramones Shone Knife is a Damb good Band.

    Pete Fs-Boneyard

  • I bought the Genki Shock CD for a dollar. Totally worth it for this song.

  • the coolest band on earth

  • Nice use of spotlights, very cool.

  • how good is this, I cam considering going to japan next time they play there. such is my love for the knife.

  • I'm also a long time Shonen Knife fan, and I love seeing ANY of their product on video, but it is such a slim market that it is hard to find.

    THANKS FOR THE POST!

  • spam spam spam spam lovely spam lovely spam

  • Another very cleverly written Shonen Knife tune.

  • They are simply amazing! I will forever regret that I didn't see them whilst they were touring the UK.

I'm told they also made a video for the song Public Bath, so if anyone out there has it, please upload and put me out of misery.

  • O.O When I listen to this song it reminds me of Kim Wilde's "Kids In America."
