Novelty songs are not allowed in accredited state fiddle contests. Iowa isn't an accredited state fiddle contest.

Honestly, I don't think this was "the" tune she played and won with. I'm pretty sure the contest at the Iowa state fair has the three songs, hoedown waltz choice, like "accredited" contests and I doubt this was her winning tune unless there was a "no holds barred" contest and I don't believe there is. What does it matter anyway? A contest title means you practiced the crap out of three songs and you beat whoever else felt a need to be judged by what is ultimately someone else's opinion.
