  • Dan Tyminski's vocals make this one a success. Just watch him (2nd one from the left). you can see he is the one singing the high vocals! Dan is GREAT!

  • It's such a bummer that people can't learn the gentle art of silent enjoyment, just long enough for the guy behind them to tape the show. It's not just this video, it's every live concert I've ever been to.

  • Jerry Douglas sings! Wow. Awesome

  • Wow, wow, wow! What a fantastic song, never heard before. Tempo is PERFECT.

  • awesome!five stars!

  • Gabe Witcher

  • excellent. EXCELLENT. can anyone tell me who the gentleman playing the fiddle is? he's the only unfamiliar face.

  • Great video and good job on the sound. I love how the soundman made Tony's guitar microphone hot.

  • I listen to this purt near ever day!!!! This is by far thee best version of this great tune ever played! Tony Rice is a monster. He is not of this earth!!!!!

  • agreed! on all accounts

  • mother of creation...that is some serious shit touche!

  • sam bush is the man

  • Wow this is awesome!!!

  • I was not aware this collaboration even existed. Wow..These guys are definetely some of the best in the business.

  • Just do a search for amazon and manzanita, you will find Tony Rice's album by that name. Many of these musician's played on that album, hence the name they gave this band. You can hear clips of all the recordings on that album on amazon site.

  • Well Tony, Sam and Jerry were all on the Manzanita album.

  • I can't hear jerry's vocal part at all, I only hear two parts and there are three people singing. The guitarist is singing the tenor line... where's Jerry?

  • sam has the b note jerry has the e note and has the g#.i dont understand what you dont hear.

  • i meant to say dan t has the g# note.

  • Its always hard to hear that bottom harmony especially over really strong top parts. Its beautifully done though.

  • missing Todd Phellps aren't they?

  • i cant thank you enough for the hours of enjoyment

  • Does Jerry have any song that he's on lead vocals, if he doesn't then he should.

  • Fiddle player = Gabe Witcher (Jerry Douglas Band; Chris Thile & the Tensions Mountain Boys; etc.)

  • Manzanita is my favorite Bluegrass/Folk album. It's interesting to note that there is no banjo on the entire album. The original Genseng Sullivan featured Ricky Skaggs on fiddle. It also featured Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas. Nice to see this song redone with 3 players who were on the original recording of the late 70's. (Rice, Bush, Douglas) I'm not sure who the bass player or fiddle player are on here.

  • The Bass player is Barry Bales who, along with Dan Tyminski (on guitar here), Jerry Douglas are part of Union Station with Alison Krauss. The only key member missing is Ron Block who plays banjo and guitar with the group. All excellent musicians.

  • Great Norman Blake tune. Well done by the Manzanitia gang.

  • JD singing....thats a first for me

  • Try Sam Bush

  • I mean, JD did sing the album with Ride the Wild Turkey.
