@freestylmx311 First of all, this is a REVIEW video, not just a knife demo video.
Second, if you don't like his style, why watch? You must have watched a good number of his videos if you can label this "typical" nutnfancy. There are plenty of people that only do the "action" in youtube.
Many people like Nutn because he both talks about the gear giving his opinion and description and displays the gear in use. There is no need for you to bad mouth him for his process.
@stusf12 im guessing from his other videos nutnfancy posts that it is in Idaho (perhaps eastern near Driggs etc), wyoming (the western region) or even Utah (in the logan/northeastern region of the state). but then again i could be completely mistaken.
Last year when shopping for a survival blade I happened upon your site and your review of the A1. Together with a Knife Destruction Test on Youtube and a couple other reviews I purchased an A1 and LOVE it! I prefer leather sheaths, so I ordered up a JRE sheath that has a fire steel loop and found the A1 to be big and strong enough for chopping and batoning firewood, and just as useful in the camp kitchen. A very tough and versatile tool!
Fallkniven knives are incredible. They use a laminated steel with layers. A friend of mine had one and was successfully able to bust the blade. However, due to the laminated layers it kept its shape. Despite the break in the blade, he was still able to use it for lighter duties, cutting rope, skinning game, etc.
since this is a skandinavian blade i thought id just through in this fact: in the swedish army, getting frost bite is punishable by courtmarshall because it can be prevented and can get ur whole team into trouble...
The flat part of the A1 will not come into contact & stick to the wood when batoning.
In fact the saber convex of the A1 is more efficient in splitting wood than an FFG, because it parts the wood like a wedge while the edge does not really come into contact with the wood after the initial penetration.
i have the A2 and the s1 and bro has the A1 and fallkniven are some very good knives, as of right now i can't say i know another knife in the price range which is better the only one coming close i would say are busse but i don't have any exprenice with. Nutnfancy you make som awesome vids.
That looks like an awesome knife! I'll probably end up buying it some time.
I'm also having trouble finding the kind of sheath you have, it looks like the best kind. Do you know where I could buy it (preferably with the knife in black)?
Great videos, I buy most of my knives based on your reviews.
Of the [relatively few] knives I've owned and of the others I've seen, I'd have to say the Gerber Yari II has the best production sheath ever. The knife will stay in with the sheath upside-down and unsnapped even while being shaken vigorously. It can also be attached to just about anything right out of the box.
I just pack my 19" forest axe, it makes short work of anything really. That plus a good knife for smaller work... thats a combo that cant be beat for bushcraft.
I was wondering where you ordered it from to get that sheath? I ordered one and it came with this squarish zytel sheath. I haven't seen that sheath anywhere. just leather and the square zytel. anyone have any info on this?
I was preparing to buy myself a Cold Steel Trailmaster. It's a great knife but I have hesitated due to its extreme size. This A1 looks like it will do everything I need it to. I'm sold. Thanks nutnfancy for one of the best knife reviews ever.
Me too; I've watched so many action movies that the line between reality and fantasy has blurred for me, and when I walk down the street I look at people in a mean way... (mean mugging them) and they don't know I carry a big knife in my person!
most def. not made in China. I love trying to take the black off of my A1 through batonning. I keep watching this video Nutn as well as the A2 and Trail Master vids too. Keep making good videos!
Ok.... There was a lady who was walking in the forest with her dog and was killed. If u r reading this, then u will find a dead bloody body hanging in ur closet. U will be haunted and killed by her. to stop it posti this to 6 other videos in 30 GOOD LUCK
I have the same model sheath to my (smaller) F1, and to be honest it's one of the best sheaths I've ever had. It looks a bit strange but I love it, it keeps the knife from falling out but doesn't make it very hard to pull out. Maybe it's not as good on the A1, I only have a cordura sheath to that one.
Had my A1 since they started selling them and love it, the A2 was developed much later. The F1 is the pilot survival one, much shorter (it's also a great knive though).
my summary of this video: 'man better than I expected.' lol but seriously great knife if you can find it get it cause its a masterpiece and is cheaper than say its bigger brother A2 or the perfect u2.
