  • @Nutnfancy dude why no BK-2 vids ever? I think that should somehow fit your POU's quite well.

  • 4 minutes in until we see the knife. typical nutnfancy bullcrap

  • Comment removed

  • @freestylmx311 If you know its typical nutnfancy why come back and complain more? Stay away

  • God damn i want to live in sweden now, moras, fallknivens, badasss

  • have you ever thought of getting the becker bk2

  • Looks like a Cold Steel SRK.

  • what state is this filmed

  • @stusf12 im guessing from his other videos nutnfancy posts that it is in Idaho (perhaps eastern near Driggs etc), wyoming (the western region) or even Utah (in the logan/northeastern region of the state). but then again i could be completely mistaken.

  • God bless Swedish Steel. I have a Mora now and I'm saving for a Fallkniven.

  • @CapnJay214Supra

I hope the old skyguy also blesses japanese steel. Just saying; because this sharpy is forged in japan using jap steel.

    cheers

  • Last year when shopping for a survival blade I happened upon your site and your review of the A1. Together with a Knife Destruction Test on Youtube and a couple other reviews I purchased an A1 and LOVE it! I prefer leather sheaths, so I ordered up a JRE sheath that has a fire steel loop and found the A1 to be big and strong enough for chopping and batoning firewood, and just as useful in the camp kitchen. A very tough and versatile tool!

  • how much does it cost

  • anybody that cant make firewood with that deserves to be cold

  • @frodo70444 Hahaha that was a great comment

  • @mustangfootball63 thanks...i try

  • @frodo70444 and you succeed my fellow hobbit

  • Fallkniven knives are incredible. They use a laminated steel with layers. A friend of mine had one and was successfully able to bust the blade. However, due to the laminated layers it kept its shape. Despite the break in the blade, he was still able to use it for lighter duties, cutting rope, skinning game, etc.

  • Where did you get that stheath?

  • But... That wood is dry? How do you chop green fibrous wood?

  • since this is a skandinavian blade i thought id just through in this fact: in the swedish army, getting frost bite is punishable by courtmarshall because it can be prevented and can get ur whole team into trouble...

  • @TheTobyKing Lol, this is not a SCANDI blade. It is made in Sweden, forged in Japan. and does NOT have a Scandi Grind to it. Lol, kids....

  • The flat part of the A1 will not come into contact & stick to the wood when batoning.

In fact the saber convex of the A1 is more efficient in splitting wood than an FFG, because it parts the wood like a wedge while the edge does not really come into contact with the wood after the initial penetration.

  • why did choose the black color? is it better?

  • what wood looks very very soft, try it with oak

  • i have the A2 and the s1 and bro has the A1 and fallkniven are some very good knives, as of right now i can't say i know another knife in the price range which is better the only one coming close i would say are busse but i don't have any exprenice with. Nutnfancy you make som awesome vids.

  • A1 is heavily used by the Swedish army, along with the Mora 2000.

So its no wonder its preforms well.

  • Great review thanks, mine arrived yesterday!

  • i personally like the bk2 more.

  • That looks like an awesome knife! I'll probably end up buying it some time.

I'm also having trouble finding the kind of sheath you have, it looks like the best kind. Do you know where I could buy it (preferably with the knife in black)?

Great videos, I buy most of my knives based on your reviews.

  • Hey nutn, would you recomend this knife for hunting, as well as survival?

    Thanks man...love the videos!!!

  • Of the [relatively few] knives I've owned and of the others I've seen, I'd have to say the Gerber Yari II has the best production sheath ever. The knife will stay in with the sheath upside-down and unsnapped even while being shaken vigorously. It can also be attached to just about anything right out of the box.

  • would you say the trail master or the A1 is better overall

  • Ive got one of these knives, its just brilliant!!

  • Comment removed

  • is this knife good for hunting?

  • do you have a backpack for your dog??? because you would have to carry less and um by name i am guessing she would have good workout

  • this knife is great its been out for years price hasnt dropped one bit , i like the sheath on this video much better then the newer ones

  • I just pack my 19" forest axe, it makes short work of anything really. That plus a good knife for smaller work... thats a combo that cant be beat for bushcraft.

  • Is this the earlier solid VG10 version, or the newer laminated VG10 version?

  • hi nutnfancy, which is a harder steel, high carbon, or VG-10? thank you

  • What's the EDGE on this puppy?...convexed, beveled, flat, etc? If convexed, can it be honed on a strop and sharpened on mousepad/sandpaper?

  • The sheath in the video is the discontinued original kydex sheath.

Similar ones are available from several sheath makers on the interweb.

  • I was wondering where you ordered it from to get that sheath? I ordered one and it came with this squarish zytel sheath. I haven't seen that sheath anywhere. just leather and the square zytel. anyone have any info on this?

  • I like the style in which you conduct your review. Good work. You keep things flowing.

  • FÄLLKNIVEN is the best knife ever!

  • Fallkniven can thank Nutnfancy. I purchased the A1 thanks to his reviews.

  • axe 1250 gram 12.50 euro Thank you GAMMA

  • i cant bring myself to spend over 140 dollars for a falkineven a1 where i could get 2-4 kabars/beckers....

  • thanks for making that clear to us....

  • I was preparing to buy myself a Cold Steel Trailmaster. It's a great knife but I have hesitated due to its extreme size. This A1 looks like it will do everything I need it to. I'm sold. Thanks nutnfancy for one of the best knife reviews ever.

  • Maybe think about the Cold Steel Recon Scout. If you can get it in SK-5, it is a tremendous value. Good luck with your purchase!

  • ApolloEDC, I went ahead and bought the Fallkniven A1. While I don't have another knife of this class to compare it to, I absolutely love it.

  • i just realised...iv accidentally hurt myself with everyone of my knives...perhaps its like a baptism with my own blood...

  • i have always thought the same thing . its got to happen at some point .

  • You never truly OWN a knife until it has tasted your blood. Then it will be loyal forever.

  • true dat.

  • @ayokay123

You've watched too many action movies...

  • @CleverDjembe

Ain't THAT the truth....but it also happens to be an old saying among bushcrafters.

  • @ayokay123

Me too; I've watched so many action movies that the line between reality and fantasy has blurred for me, and when I walk down the street I look at people in a mean way... (mean mugging them) and they don't know I carry a big knife in my person!

  • No tienes ni puñetera idea de utilizar un cuchillo.

  • is it true that the Cold Steel's SRK is a near rip off of the A1?

  • virgin log = hasnt been stabbed with his "knife yet ^^

  • there seem to be 2 different sheaths 4 this knife can someone clear this up 4 me?

  • Virgin log?...

  • I love the Fallkniven blades. I own an A2 Wilderness knife and a U1 (for everyday carry in the UK). They're both brilliant.

  • I love my A1, Best knife I've ever owned, Takes an awesome sharp edge easily and it keeps it very well.

It's my EDC, I carry it in a custom made sheath that also has a pouch where I keep my SOG PowerLock. Well worth the money a true no BS knife.

    Great video BTW

  • Don't worry about it, I like to keep my blades looking nice as well!

  • most def. not made in China. I love trying to take the black off of my A1 through batonning. I keep watching this video Nutn as well as the A2 and Trail Master vids too. Keep making good videos!

  • It is not made in China. :-))

  • Není lepší sekera? Jako nůž je lepší f1, jako sekerka pak A1

  • jo oba wast eh ds is normal nd so guat fia de lesa waunst so an scheiß schreibst

  • да ладно ., а мы и не знали ???!!!!!

  • u from israel?

  • bizzarre man way bizzarre

  • WOW i did better that i thought i would, lol

  • BAM- man just goes right thru.

  • Are these knives made in Sweden or are they made overseas?

  • I think some are made in Sweden and some are made in Japan.

  • For some of us Sweden IS overseas... :)

  • Hahaha you seem so extremley facinated by knifes in a good way :D

  • great knife but it has a hideous sheath.

  • I have the same model sheath to my (smaller) F1, and to be honest it's one of the best sheaths I've ever had. It looks a bit strange but I love it, it keeps the knife from falling out but doesn't make it very hard to pull out. Maybe it's not as good on the A1, I only have a cordura sheath to that one.

  • Had my A1 since they started selling them and love it, the A2 was developed much later. The F1 is the pilot survival one, much shorter (it's also a great knive though).

  • gonna get one here myself. Want the A2 but the a1 is cheaper. Also you said you give it a 10/10 but in the description you give it a 7/10

  • Wow, that knife rocked through that. Nice! I need one of those no doubt.

  • Great job Nutn.

  • Great video, this helped convince me to buy one. Thanks.

  • my summary of this video: 'man better than I expected.' lol but seriously great knife if you can find it get it cause its a masterpiece and is cheaper than say its bigger brother A2 or the perfect u2. Gotta say though don't knock a 4" blade just because its shorter cause thats all you really need in a knifes length. Any more is just extra weight. But good wieght none the less. Matter of preference i say

  • @kingboru121

Well, the rule of thumb is: The blade length should be the same as your Penis lenght. That's why 4" is JUST right for most viewers :D

  • the new Sheath's(Zytel) suck

  • HOW THICK IS THE KYDEX ON THAT BLADE?

  • yo nutnfancy how come u never make feather sticks for ur fires they really help and make kindling easier to catch that way u dont have to make soooo much kindling... and its a great way to see how sharp ur blade is, when u do feather sticks.

  • Good review mate. What an awesome knife!

  • Hey good choice man! i will buy this knife in a month or so, i go to hold it and feel how it was in a weapons store a week ago and it felt like a piece of solid workmanship.

I might make a review on it and talk about how it works for me. And i might include a lesson for you yankee's in how to pronounce the company's name infallibly... lol just kidding

  • i have been studying affordable survival blades for years by reading and observing.the a1 seams to be the best knife in the world for all around use, trust that a knife will do its job and price.130 bucks i think this knife is a winner for me.thanks your video helped me decide on a hiking blade choice.i am up in the catskills cutting up game and widdling wood.

  • man, sorry, but you gotta stop talking about the knife before using it, talk while your splitting the log, because it bores the living hell outta people when they have to listen to you explaining for 4 minutes about the features of the knife, save your breath.

  • Dont fucking watch it then

  • I didn't insult him, just gave him some advice? people want to see the knife in action in a video, the explaination of the knife should come after, since you can show how it preforms and then tell about the pros and the cons of the knife, it goes better.

  • and I'd like to remind you that cursing usually means your wrong, so ha!

  • No, it doesn't.

    Cursing usually means you're cursing.

  • yeah, but cursing usually means frustration and frustration is a sign that what your saying is wrong, same as nervousness and shyness towards the person your lying to, that's how many interogators find out that your wrong or lying.

  • The moment you take up employment with the FBI as a designated interrogator will mark the point at which I cease to consider your e-psychiatry to be relevant.

Considering firstly that you are arguing on the internet, and that, secondly, the weight of your argument rests entirely on pure subjectivity, I doubt this day will ever come.

    Seeya!

  • Which is beter for survival this or the Cold Steel SRK

  • that's also something i'm wondering, though the A1 has an exposed tang and a .3" longer blade... steels are variable and depends on the situation.

  • Check Fallkniven A1 destruction test and Cold Steel SRK destruction test here on You Tube. A1 is far tougher. Although the SRK its a great blade for the price the A1 is another league. I have both. The SRK is half the price though. The Destruction test show the old style SRK, the new ones are made of another material. Wee need to wait the verdict on that.

  • thanks for all the great reviews, you always give good advice and honest reviews in my opinion, especially when u demonstrate capabilty of the knives u review.

  • great video, by the way which knife do you like better, the fallkniven a1, or the rat 7 ?

  • Hi, nutnfancy. What is that sheath on video? I know only leather and zythel sheath. Thank you

  • great vid, great knife. but the knife is only as good as the user.

  • Great vid dude, I love all of your videos. Whats your dogs name? heh

  • question, I can here you breathing slightly heavily. is this because of high altitude?

  • How much are they?

  • WOW!!!! That knife is kick ass!!!

  • Hi there! Nice 2 see u like our Swedish knifes :-) ! i just got my self an F1, n I love it.

PS. Yes, I am from sweden!

  • :) Just beautiful!

  • i'm convinced, i want one now!

  • What's that?

  • Wow. Its performance surprised me as well. Nice.

  • Sweet knife. I also dig the Forest Knife, a liitle smaler than this.

  • You forgot your WD-40 :p.

  • Good point... it would have done even better.
