Ive responded with my video to your video because they both hold the same message; mine just in cartoon form from the new cartoon series i've created 'The World of Round People', check it out & tell me what you think please.
Thankyou & that advert is really affective; its always shown on T.V.
There's no point trying to tell young drivers that they might kill themselves if they drink and drive because young men all think they are invinsible. I know I did at that age.
This works much better because is says, OK you might not crash, but if you get stopped and fail a breath test you're fucked.
Imagine being that bloke trying to order a drink. If it's not flying tables taking out the blonde lass giving you the eye, it's scary barmen with multiple personality disorder. He either has seriously bad luck in pubs, or needs to give the sauce a rest.
"So, what's it gonna be" is the only really good part of this. Otherwise it's far, far too reminiscent of one of those drama ensembles that used to come in and put on little plays about this sort of thing at school. Also 30 seconds? What? This better not be the whole campaign.
Like I said, there's a 50 second one that someone uploaded, although I have no idea where they got it. Probably the Leo Burnett website or something. They only have the 30 second version on the Think! website. There are radio ads too and print ads I think. Amazingly it's cost 2.5 million quid. No idea how.
Just so yous lot know, I sometimes do animation and I'm thinking of parodying this shitty advert and posting it online. Does anyone know how to export a Flash project into a Quickwave or something? That's the only obstacle I can think of, otherwise I'll just place it on Newgrounds.
Well I've kind of given up on it now, but I started making a cartoon version of this ad, only where the bloke has a go at him for assuming he was driving and then all sorts of rubbish that I'd just say into the mike when pissed one night and go with it the next morning. The problem is that I don't know how to save a Flash animation as a Quicktime file or similar, only as a Flash specific file that can't be placed on Youtube.
If you save it out as an .flv you can import it into youtube no problem, I did it myself for a few nasty adverts that were only available in embedded flash players. I decompiled the flash, saved out the video, etc etc. Give that a go.
Maybe they decided the only way to get to these idiots was to tell them if they get caught they might lose their job. But if they aren't worried about dying, cutting off their cash flow probably won't phase them.
Exactly. Like when they used to say things like "It isn't only your neck on the line", as if another life is as precious as your own. Or those crap "Baby on Board" stickers, because that means other drivers HAVE to be safe around you.
And the guy getting the drink looks way too much like the guy who 'drove' the table in the previous advert.
There was a poster campaign like that at the turn of the century. "You don't think you'll kill someone, so think about six months in jail". I liked that.

i dont get the 3rd and 4th person
tokenwebster 3 years ago
3rd person is the guy's boss, as he's firing him because of his record.
4th person is a car dealer offering him a really shit deal on the car he has to sell because he lost his licence.

I know there is a serious message behind the advert but the barman's comedy Scottish accent creases me up everytime:)
linebackertwo 3 years ago
Look I fully agree with the message - but if my barman kept up this shit everytime i went to the bar for a pint i'd have chinned him by now!!

This is all we're getting at Christmas too. Unfortunately I can't see any lives being saved by the Legs Akimbo Theatre Company.
Applemask 4 years ago
Haha. Nice reference. Seriously though, is this all we're getting? I presume you looked at the Think! calendar?
wuzzlevideos 4 years ago
Near as I can tell on the Think site, this is basically all there is PIFwise. The posters are a lot better, but punches are still being pulled.
Applemask 4 years ago
When the bartender was the car dealer, he didn't say that the guy had to pay a hefty £50000 fine.
theblooman 4 years ago
Oh, I'm sorry. I put too many 0's in it. I should have said "£5000".

That is an aboslutely great commercial, I wish we had these in the U.S.! :]

It's the same guy, all right. I have the feeling DOT should 'Think!' about adapting some of the TAC PIF's 'cause this is just plain stupid.

that's the naffest think commercial ever.

Probably slightly less naff than the "Two things at once" ad with the text. But it's a close call. Utterly useless, all the same.

Oh, god...they're really missing with this Drink-driving ads.
