  • This song cruzzing on a rainy day in Tucson is no joke....the best :)l(:

  • @Leonidas1262 u live in arizona?? :D

  • @lawinnn What do you mean scissors?

  • beautiful song. reminds me of the good days of the 90s

  • @Richard20TRILLION GNR's Use Your Illusion was pretty outstanding.

  • feel like i'm in a different world. so awe inspiring it just pulls at the heart. so agonizingly wonderful

  • looks like one person should jump off a bridge

  • when tha pumkpins pulled this off, it was reserved for "established" bands, Billy knew whar he was doing! and we all got one of the greatest albums, be it double, or not, EVER. it's up to us to remind everyone what IT IS, not what it was, cause it was good then, as it is NOW!

  • Will always consider this album to be one of my favorites of all time. Every song on here is good. I never got to see them live, I've always wanted too.

  • @crackedglobe the Incubus album was the only album I think seemed similar to this double album. All the other new shit coming out now and days sucks. This is real music. Will always love this album and the pumpkins.

  • @Richard20TRILLION Amen to that, not many people can accomplish that. Still one of my favorite albums to this day. I was in about eighth grade when this album came out. I still love it to this day.

  • @crackedglobe Duuude, people do, just most people dont wanna hear it because they have become tone deaf from justin bieber.

  • The thing about Mellon Collie is there are so many awesome songs, you don't notice some at first. I never realized how awesome this song is until I had a weekend with no cable and no Internet, just Mellon Collie (and Siamese Dream) to listen to multiple times.

  • juke box fuck up paid to listen to this

  • Reminds of me of MBV's "To Here Knows When"

  • i think this song comes the closest to describing the feeling of realising you have feelings for someone :) BEAUTIFUL

  • i love this song. dreamy..

  • @Richard20TRILLION The Beatles (lol) My heart is sold to both bands.

  • @Richard20TRILLION I could.

  • 1 person has never been to the land of star crossed lovers.

  • @Richard20TRILLION even the manson kids liked this album, everyone did

  • I love that the sound is written iambic penatmeter!

  • i love how all the people that hear smashing pumkins love all or just one but THE PEOPLE LOVES SMASHING PUMKINS and i see the comments of all their music videos and its so lovley <3

    so whats my point

    I LOVE SMASHING PUMKINS<333

  • @lawinnn

    lol scissors AND salt shakers

  • @lawinnn

    lol scissors?

  • HAPPY DEJECTED AND JILTED VALENTINES DAY! ;)

  • Every song is so different but amazing. This song is so amazingly Edwardian, like the CD art. I've never heard any band like SP. Ever.

  • Does anybody know the technical musical term for the piano part? Its some scale or arpeggio, but which? Sorry my musical knowlege is lacking

  • This is a very unique band. No other band has this sound and their music from Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie would sound amazing if it was released today.

  • One word describes this: Enchanting

  • I love this song. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was one of the best CD's. I still listen to it, still have it on my ipod. Takes you to another place. Thank you Billy.

  • I wish billy would get depressed again, hit up the band, and make another kick-ass record.

  • @crackedglobe Corgan aparently when nuts making this record, he was so consumed with making it perfect.. this is absoulutely beautiful music'

  • I come back to this album year after year. Cant ever find anything as good

  • @Richard20TRILLION

Red Hot Chili Peppers "Stadium Arcadium". But these two are exceptions, no other band ever managed to pull it off!

  • i love the harp. so much.

  • This is definitely one of their best songs. It makes me feel like I'm floating....

  • @revolver2k8 hey i have that too, only mine is to play tron version 2.0, pc game, whenever i put on arctic monkeys' "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not"..

  • with turpentine kisses and mistaken blows

  • @lazykid1000 go put ur radiohead comments on a radiohead song

  • I always love this song. Thanks man. :) Shivers down my spine.

  • To me this is probably their greatest work.

  • dude i mean you,billy..

    this is oke..

you in a iron silvery skirt that touched me

  • nice song

    i like it

  • This always reminds me of my first love

  • People that don't respond amiably?

Understand what the music is about, otherwise step away. This is all I ask. It's so easily misinterpreted.

This music is all about Star-Crossed Lovers and barren Heart Wanderers. Shut the fuck up if you aren'!!"

  • I hate to admit it but I do cry when I hear this song.

"... with turpentine kisses, and mistaken blows..."

The music itself is such a folkish lore itself. It's almost as if a spell is woven around the listener.

It is special, to be sure.

  • incredible appregios

  • We seek the unseekable and we speak the unspeakable.

Our hopes dead gathering dust to dust in faith,in compassion, and in LOVE.

    (AMAZING).

  • If there was only one word I could think of to describe this song with, it would be: Magical.

  • fuck yea. this song is so fucking awesome. i just can't describe it. it still makes me emotional.

  • I always loved this band, moreso nowadays when all the music now is about getting revenge and cheating, SP always stays romantic and still being enjoyable rock.

  • The mood from this song is very different from anything I've heard from a lot of modern bands.

  • Andres Montes RIP

  • I don't know what boy would be braver than Billy Corgan- to willingly spill his heart out on the table for us.

  • Amazing! It's written in "middle english", isn't it? Is there someone so kind to write a prose version of this beautiful poem...?

  • Amazing...Just amazing......

  • SP is my favorite band, next to the Beatles and Nirvana, without a doubt. Also love this song and especially the album it came from. Wish I could find a video lesson for this on guitar--- it sounds pretty cool.

  • I couldn't agree more, Nirvana, Beatles, and SP... Are the BEST of the BEST. Without a doubt. :)

  • Nirvana fucking sucks. Overrated.

  • agreed

  • @TheNameIsSantaClause Yeah because the lyrics of this song aren't pretentious at all....hmm.

  • @TheNameIsSantaClause NOOO they don't dude. AT ALLLLL! Nirvana changed the face of music in the 90s and brought the underground scene to the mainstream and isn't credited enough for that. Not at allll!

  • fantastic

  • this is one of my fav songs from MCIS just beautiful! I saw SP 4 times live in the 90s one of the best bands playing live, I wonder who plays the harp in this song, I think its james..

  • auch! esto me trae muchos recuerdos de por ahí por los 17 años...casi todos buenos en todo caso

  • Trop magnifique !

  • PUMPKINS 4EVER!!!

  • this is one of those songs that make you want to go give your lover a big kiss.anyway.....judas iscariot, siamese dream, and mellon collie are just phenom......oh, and BUGS SUPERSTAR GETS ALL MY LOVE

  • Best song ever!

  • simplemente HERMOSA.........

  • Yes very good company to be in :-)

  • Thank U 4 puttin this up I love this song

  • Great song...Great album...Great title.

  • omfg! this album is amazing!!!! Please forgive me, but i still dont have it, but im gonna go and buy this as of tomorrow! this is mind blowing!!! how did i live without this MASTERPIECE!!!

  • The best songs are never the hits!

    Everyone knows that..that really knows.

I suggest you start listening to all the songs from the people you like. Thats what music is all about. It's not about what cool song there playing on the radio over & over again. You have to really be into music though. Not just listening cuz you think its cool.

  • Your so right. Tonight,Tonight and Bullets With Butterfly Wings get all the love on the Melon Collie record. My favs are By Starlight, Farewell&Good Night, Lilly and this this song.

  • Don't forget that 1979 was the biggest hit of all. That was the best of the singles, but the deeper cuts are the real gems.

  • I tell that to people about U2, especially their last two albums, which songs under the surface of the "hits" were even more amazing than the hits!

  • I want a girlfriend now, too...

    dammit

  • Go outside?

  • Ok

    now what?

  • Strip all your clothes.

    And roll in dog shit.

  • Whoa- hey

    We're just friends

Now you're just messin with me

  • lol

  • this song sends me to a far away land where there is nothing but blissful happiness and utopia.

    WAR BILLY CORGAN!!!

  • I need a girlfriend.

  • Actually whats bizzare is this album is what opened up Radiohead for me. Other than that this is one of my all time favorite albums, and this being one of fav songs on the albums. But lazy i know what you mean about picking out some songs and ignoring the rest, cuz personally with me the only Radiohead album i do listen to is In Rainbows, but i have a deep appreciation for their music in general, and same goes with The Samashing Pumpkins.

  • mm, idk they just sound boring to me..

i am a person who will buy/download full albums, because some good artists make interesting use of the whole 'collection of songs thing',

but then, i listen to stuff that was waaay before iTunes, so maybe thats changed.

  • this is becoming my favorite pumpkins song. I'm just getting back into them. Are there any artists that play stuff similar to this song?

  • Good question, I can't think of any band that's comparable to the Smashing Pumpkins. I am constantly searching through iTunes and other music catalogs to try and find new and interesting bands to add to my channel. However, lately it feels like there is a shortage of unique bands, I hate mainstream alternative bands, and there seems to be a lot of these lame bands nowadays. So, I open to any suggestions for stuff to add to this channel. Although, I think you should check out Arcade Fire

  • definatly check out arcade fire their unique and amazing!

  • Radiohead is very unique, Modest mouse too.

  • i only liked the Lonesome Crowded West album by Modest Mouse, could never get into Radiohead.

  • my bloody valentine, all the way.

  • @lazykid1000

You can check "Failure". Not exactly the same type of music, but close. Really great band that never really flourished lik SP.

  • @lazykid1000 Arcade Fire is definitely worth checking out, I love them. Also if you're after a unique band that is good, try Silversun Pickups and their album 'Swoon'. It's sweet.

  • @charizardoncrack Yeah they have a somewhat similar style to The Pumpkins. It seems like the singer of Silversun Pickups almost tries to sound like Billy :P

  • @kryton7147 try claude debussy where there is an harp..by the way the lyrics are pure poetry.Thank you Billy Corgan!

  • Comment removed

  • @kryton7147 try band of horses, they r pretty good...but its very hard finding anything like the pumpkins...they were that great.

  • @kryton7147, this song kinda reminds me of She Is Leaving- The Beatles.

  • everysong Smashing Pumpkins composed is nothing less than pure genius......In my opinion? or is it a fact?

  • fact.

  • this song is so relaxing.

  • Yeah, this is definitely my most favorite Pumpkin song, next to 1979 and Perfect. I love mellow songs in general.
