  • How long did this take to get done? I can tell its gonna be costly and time counsoming but im gonna do it to mine.

  • @smashingstuff09 Been a long project. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT You did a very good job at it

  • @smashingstuff09 Thank you. :-)

  • hope you dont find this rude but.... how much has the project cost up to this date?

  • @BurgessGaming Nope...not rude at all. But not much money as you may think though. :-) There really isn't one set price for doing one of these cars. It all depends on how much work you're willing to do yourself. Things like installation, wiring, some fabricating, etc. It could take a car like this that would usually take around 35,000 dollars to build, and make it around 15,000. That's just an idea though. :-)

  • Your car is Super!

    Awesome! :Thumb up:

    :-)

  • These people who are posting really stupid comments need to GET A JOB. I'd do anything to have a car as nice as Mike's. A lot of great work was put into the car, and it's a project to be very proud of. Excellent job!

  • @marktewing Thanks for the words buddy. :-)

  • If I would be you, I would cut off the antenna.

  • @USRaph14 If you notice, this video is 3 years old now. :-) That antenna was removed and the fender sealed off a long time ago. :-)

  • @rallysport3 Thanks for the nice words. But what are you talking about with fluctuating speed readings? Are you sure you're looking at the right gauge? The numeric readout and bar graph on the left side of my steering wheel is the MPH, the readout and bar graph on the right side are my RPMs. :-)

  • Gorgeous car, though i wouldnt treat it like that if i had it.........what a waste of tyres wheel spinning like that

  • @mattmahy1 Thanks for the thoughts....but I don't see it as a waste. This is a 24 year old Trans Am converted into a Knight Rider car. You don't fix these up and baby them or turn them into a trailer queen. These cars are made to be driven, the more the better. If I destroy Kitt's Tires......so what.....he'll get another set. This car means the world to me so Im cautious as well as daring with it. If I brake it, I fix it. :-) Peace man.

    Mike

  • @mattmahy1 Oh yeah I remember hearing on CNN about the worldwide tire shortage. :P

  • @MickScarborough Perish the thought.

  • where is knight rider theme?

  • @KhmerD0g ??

  • @KN1IGHT

i hate the music. use something else.

  • @KhmerD0g How about, no. :-) Just listen to something else.....unless you want to pay Universal Pictures the royalties so I "can" use the KR theme in my videos. Besides, it's nice to change things up a bit. I have the KR theme standing by ready to be pumped through my stereo in Kitt at a moments notice....so it's not like I've never heard it before. lol Not to mention, that after a hundred plus videos featuring my Kitt car......the KR theme can afford to "not" be used once in a while.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • sebo.. thats my word 'CrapStang'.... who every hates the mustang say I

  • who is Turbo Boots ???? :D nice car man !!!!

  • u no the mustang its a shitstang

  • @58sebo lol... i said something simular to you on msn lol... Mustang Knight Rider is crap so i call it CrapStang..

  • nice video is it your car??

  • @dodge889 Thanks for the video comment.....and yup, it's my car. :-)

  • @KN1IGHT i wish i could ride in it i am a big knight rider fan

  • @dodge889 Well, if you were anywhere around N.E. Oklahoma, I could probably arrange that. :-)

    Peace man,

    Thanks again.

    Mike

  • @KN1IGHT i wish i was

  • @KN1IGHT thats is so cool i wish i could ride in it i am a big knight rider fan

  • how do you skid that much without the tires getting completely demolished?

  • @mariomario8888 Not to brag, but there are not too many folks (that I've met) that can handle a 3rd gen Trans Am (like Kitt) as good as I can. I say this because I've been driving mine since 1994, and am very good at not just everyday driving in Kitt....but performance as well as stunt driving. I've done several productions that require me to perform donuts, 180s, burnouts, etc. Most if not all the attempts have been done on private roads. :-) Peace man.

    Mike

  • @KN1IGHT In other words.....I know my Kitt's limits, and I try my best not to be careless. :-)

  • @87Nitro Speedometer is on the left, Tachometer is on the right buddy. Those are the RPMs, not miles per hour. :-) The 250 is 250 x 10.

  • Ofcourse its dangerous to try that at home! because if we do that its going to cost allot of money, and its realy dangerous in those times.Cool car though.

  • Ofcourse! coz if we try this at home it gonna cost us allot of money and an empty bank acound!

  • wow... how did u do that without the tires to get pulverized

  • @XXMom8176 What? :-)

  • Kitt love :D

  • Kitt love :D

  • I want one!!!!

  • Then go build one. :-) It's worth the effort. :-)

  • do the scanner really make that sound or is just video-inserted?

  • For this video, those were sounds inserts....but now, the scanner has a speaker under the hood that does the exact same thing. Back when I made this vid, it didn't have the sound feature yet. :-)

  • nice, I need to get myself the scanner with the sound too. That would be cool.

  • Is it hard to drive your KITT with that steering wheel? I would think it would take some getting used to.

  • Put in turbo boost, and super persuit mode and I'll pay $500,000 lol

  • K.I.T.T sounds like a CYLON

the first cylon was a car

  • i wish i have to this car im very very big fan if kitt.. i remember when i saw knight rider series first time in childhood i was very young now im 21 and still i love kitt this is fantastic car and it rules forever..

    greetings from finland

  • you sell?? :-)

  • I guess if the price was right.....but someone would have to show me the cash before I'd willingly part with him.

    :-)

  • @KN1IGHT where are you based?

  • Currently in N.E. Oklahoma.

  • @KN1IGHT ah ok. i'm in sarasota :-) how much miles are on the car?

  • May I ask why you are interested in my Kitt's mileage? Information regarding my cars specs (other than Knight Rider ones) I usually don't make public. This includes things like dollar amounts spent, mileage on the vehicle, exact engine information, and that sort of thing.

If you are truly serious about finding this info out, just email me directly through my hotmail account......but I can tell you now, if your intent is to purchase my Kitt...... I'm not sure you could afford it. :-)

    Mike

  • @KN1IGHT What's it got under the hood? Obviously not the knight industries turbine, but it doesn't look that far off. :)

  • Top Secret. :-)

  • my KITT is going 2 b my every day car. like driving every where i go

  • A long time ago, the Kitt you see in this video was my everyday driver. After restoring his body and all of his interior....I decided to slow down his everyday use. Simply put....you won't see my Kitt parked at a grocery store or a Wal Mart any more....not healthy for him. :-)

    Mike

  • you mean b4 u put the kr parts on it. like it was a normal trans am?? even when mine is a complete KITT its always going to be my everyay car.

  • Even when I added the dash....the body and the fabrics weren't in the best shape. At that point, the car was still being used as an everyday driver....but sink several thousand bucks into a completely restored interior...fabrics, seats, carpet, then do the same thing with the exterior including body, paint, everything....and you'll think twice where you want to leave your Kitt sitting or parked. Hence...making it hard to be an everyday driver....but possible....just hard.

  • it seams like ur had alot of rott when u got it. thats what is making mine hard right now. and i still have 3 years

  • Rott?

  • its basicly really bad rust when ther ttops leak and the floor rotting ot the matal around the ttops rotting. its one of the worst problems u can have on a car

  • My Kitt "Trans Am" has no rust at all on him. The body, frame, and the rest of his components under the car have weathered the years very very well. I restored all my interior fabrics because I wanted a new look and wanted to get rid of the older fading and ripped upholstery. I missunderstood you when you said 'Rott' I think mine has held up pretty well.....just wanted a full restore on the car without leaving anything out. :-)

  • Is it true that u need permission or a special licence to drive with one of those KITT steering wheels?

  • No permission needed because there's no such law. :-) Always best to check with local law enforcement first anyway........but I never did.....just installed the wheel with the dash........and I've never had any cop question me about it.

Well, actually....I do get questioned....but the question is usually.... "Do you mind if I take a Pic?" :-)

  • Ok,thanks

  • nice, mine was a steel 600$ and runs great. just needs a batery. im keeping my interier black instead of the tan.

  • Thought of a way to engineer the "Turbo boost" yet? hehe

  • Whats the year this car was manufactured for mass sale.

  • Kitt didn't have a production line....however the Trans Am and Firebird of that bodystyle made it's debut in 1982 with the Trans Am.

  • When I was little I saw a car like this, can I ask since when is this car awailable to buy? And what is the cars model and type?

  • Kitt isn't necessarily available to buy. Well, it is and it isn't. There are vendors out there in the world who sell turn key conversions that start around 40 grand and up. The car in this video was done entirely by me. I acquired the KR parts I needed....and did all the assembly work and wiring. You can easily buy the components needed to make one....but it is alot of work. The base car can be any 3rd gen Trans Am or Firebird....but 82 was the year they used in the show.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • that is awesome, how could any child of the 80s not respect kitt.

  • how much did it cost you???

  • holy shit!! nice work :P

  • man i swear your replica looks better than the shows!!

  • Thank you. :-)

  • is that the real kitt is it yours my mum would be totally gealous she loves it xoxo

  • It's "my" Knight Rider Kitt that I've been building over the last 13 years. It's very close to accurate but still could use some features that I'm working on. :-)

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • how much did this cost overall for all the upgrades to turn it from trans am to kitt?

    5dmc1

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!^_^

  • KITT is alive yea

  • Beautiful; I love that car! You have done a great job. Once I get my loan paid off; I am going to start my own conversion so hopefully in a couple of years I should have my very own knight rider replica

  • Thanks for the nice words. Which season are you shooting for?

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • I would like the 4th season dash; but any will work; I was thinking of getting my items from Marks Custom Kits; is that a good site to get parts or are there any other sites that are great? I have heard of a few more out there but I can't remember which ones they are off the top of my head......I like the music!

  • beautiful !!! what is the engine that this wonderful car runs on? when i was just a little boy i was a total knight rider maniac, take good care of my beloved childhood hero K.I.T.T , best wishes and kind regards from germany :)

    KNIGHT RIDER FOR LIFE!!!!

    Mike

  • awsome car. wish i had a kitt car

  • ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you fuckin' freak. I love you for your T/A conversion.

  • Really really NICE! :D i am stunned :D

  • great work I had a white 83' TA with the ram air 305 posi auto as my first car ..you put new shocks and spring in her? it looks sort of high up ..great vid

  • Thanks for the nice words. Yes I did completely rebuild her suspension including replaced the shocks, springs, and forward struts. Plus my sidewalls on my tires a wee bit higher than most. I did all that because I was tired of bottoming out everywhere....even with 15" rims. She doesn't sit tooo high, but I'm happy with here stance now. :-) Thanks again.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • Hi Mike, how long does it takes for u to make this kewl KITT? keep on posting new videos dude.

  • I've been working on Kitt since 1994. The majority of the Knight Rider mods have been added in the last 5 years. I am working on new vids that should be up by mid February. You won't believe what's going into the car now. Heh heh.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • dude i love ur car!!!

  • Thanks man.

  • Great work man, love the attention to detail.

  • Thanks

  • Is it legal to drive these cars? I hear they have a problem with the scanner in some states?

Awesome replica, by the way, it looks stunning. My dream is to own a KARR replica someday!

  • Cool car!

  • can u make kitt go on auto cruise ????

  • He might not come back. :-)

    Mike

  • Thanks man.

  • i love ur car thanks for making kitt a awesome vehicle once again sweettteeeeeeee

  • Thanks for diggin the car. :)

  • where and how much did you get hom from?

  • I built that Kitt car from the ground up. I used parts from vendors and Universal associated people to assemble him into a replica from the 3rd/4th season of Knight Rider.

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • I never thought a car could give me a HARD ON :)

  • Just wondering if you switched the color of your scanner to amber from red because the cops were hassling you? That is what happened out here in Minnesota. Awsome car by the way, great attention to detail, I love it.

  • I've never used an amber lens cover on my scanner before. At one point, I did catch all sorts of crap for that light....but in the here and now....my car is a show car, the scanner activates itself when I use my keyless remote for my alarm. The local cops don't bother me anymore so long as I don't drive with it on. These vids are done on private property.... :)

    Mike

  • That Car is every Knight Rider Fan's Dream. If I could Afford it I wouldn't hesitate to build one my self. I have a few questions. Do you find the steering wheel(?) awkward to use? And have you ever entered "KITT" in any car shows?

  • 1. I built it.

    2. Undisclosed amount. :)

    3. Thanks...my myspace site has a bunch of info on it about the car.

  • 1. Where do u get it?

    2. How much?

    3. Great vid!

  • is this car a little underpowerd or where you jsut takeing it easy? lol

  • Taking it easy. When tires are 200 bucks a pop, and gas is outrageous.......well, you do the math. But he's got it where it counts I assure you.

  • ive seen u alot around town sweet car the place is claremore lake

  • Thanks. I've actually done several videos around claremore. I also have a myspace page dedicated to this car, my JP Jeep, and my Ecto 1. If you get a chance, check out the movie page too. Peace man.

    Mike

  • Thanks for the comments. Not sure who you are asking about though as far as the music.

    Thanks

    Mike

  • good morning mike very compliments for your splendid knight rider who is the title of music on video crusing with knight rider 2008 at kn1ght car?

  • The Greatest Video of a K.I.T.T. replica, 10 Stars

  • I built it myself from a 1984 GTA and a mix of a 85 Firebird. You can see all the progress and old pics on my myspace site. Project started in 1994

    Peace man.

    Mike

  • where do you buy this car????

  • where do you get this car??

  • Nice car buddy, great video.

  • Thanks man.

  • Great car man. Are you a fan of any other movie cars i.e. the ford from mad max

  • How much have you spent to get your car done? Including the car price

  • You wouldn't believe me if I told you. All I'll say is it's less than 10,000 Grand to date. :)

Do your homework if you're looking to build one. Watch out for the guys that will rip you off. Peace man.

    Mike

  • Mike thank you very much for letting me know, now I'm sure someday I will have mine!!! Unfortunately I'm not on the states I'm currently in Costa Rica but if I have to go there just to get one those for sure I will!!! You made my day!!! You car is just great!!! I wish I could go there and check it out and thanks for the warning! Just one last question, is it hard to get one Trans Am like yours?

  • Yes

  • Yo Knight I want to meet you and your car you rock!

  • KITT: Michael, I feel dizzy. :)
